I gotta say. You fixed everything. I heard the game was playable on Chromebook so I thought something changed. And it did. Sprinting no longer feels like trying to walk a drunk man. There's no little turn after taking your finger off the screen. And my favorite part, being able to load my saved game. The new interface is new. The old one was fine but the new one lacks that certain aesthetic. Overall very cool. Thanks Bethesda.

I love playing Doom and Doom 2 ever since I was a kid. Love playing on both PC and gaming consoles. I was really excited to play on mobile. While everything is the same, I was really disappointed with the controll mechanism. It makes the aiming really difficult to use; especially while facing the Icon of Sin. It took a while to finally defeat it, but at a cost of using God Mode. Please update the control mechanism on the mobile platform by have other options (i.e. D-pad with XYAB buttons).

It's Doom, so it's still fun and amazing. Except there are no options to change anything in the game except movement speed and Always Run. The controls are terrible and the input lag feels something like 200ms. The controls are setup in "fields" where the left side is movement, the middle is action, and the right is move/shoot. Needs aiming joystick and separate button for shooting. Tap is AWFUL. Swiping to aim has inertia so it feels jittery and messes up aiming a LOT. Makes it no fun and hard.

Thank you so much Nerve and Bethesda for following through with new content and fixes that add much value to the game. However, problems with input delay on touch and controllers, and absolutely no options to change look acceleration turn an otherwise incredible port into a very frustrating one. edit: Acceleration disabled!! Much appreciated.

Play through the standard game before accessing the master levels. Otherwise the game will get confused and send you to the master level menu after finishing a level in the standard game. I had to reload and start over due to this. The controls are a little wonky on these ports, and generate enough issues to force me onto the easier settings. Apart from these points I'm enjoying this version. I also like how completely bonkers some of the master levels are.

I was a huge fan of the first doom growing up playing it on a crappy 386. But never played doom 2 that much. I'm enjoying the levels and some amazing level design. However, the controls even after giving it some time to get used to it, really hold me back from enjoying this game further. I will try the sensitivity setting but it's incredibly easy to miss a sidestep and get blasted or miss your shot. Doom is relentless so bad controls leading to missed shots is just frustrating as hell!

the controls are iffy but that's to be expected, even with that i was going to try to enjoy the game since i really enjoyed playing on pc. however, the game freezes whenever i try to load a save, even after a reinstall. if this issue was fixed, i would feel a lot better about spending five dollars on this game.

I'm changing my review of these ports, they look and feel great now, I think that the controls could be a little better, the sensitivity while aiming is great but the walking sensitivity doesn't feel right yet, overall it's shaping to be a great port. Also the sound of the game is kind of weird, but if you guys make the blood of the cacodemons blue and the baron and knights green I will give a full 5 stars rating.

I've played several Doom II ports and this one is good. Although the gameplay is smooth and the visuals are good, the controls aren't very good (otherwise I would have given it a 5 star rating). Please consider allowing more control options and a dedicated 'fire' button.

Controls have been improved and they're really not so bad anymore. Two stars off for not offering any motion controls or customization of touch controls, though. I appreciate the continued support for the game on this platform.

It's Doom 2! Controls are quite good for the format. Strafing is especially intuitive. This was already good, but recent updates really fixed it up! Wolfenstein levels are back! Crosses on medpacks are back (although green) and Final Freakin' Doom is back! I was wondering when they would sell it, but instead it's a free add-in compatible available with both Dooms! So there you have it. Great job, Bethesda and Id. You've made this long-time Doomer very happy. It also has No Rest For The Living!

Developers!! If you are reading this!! Please return the Double-Tap!! to shoot!!!! Doom 2 is a great game!! Especially adding new technical features:)! could be cool to look around freely tho!!! But please!! return the Double-Tap to shoot!! i would aim around with one finger! and double-tap the screen to shoot!!!! Please add this back!! its such a useful way to shoot!!! double-tap!!!!

Controls are HORRID. Being required to aim and shoot with the same stick makes the game almost impossible to play as your aim flinches with each shot. Controls should be modeled after the existing IOS Doom release, which was much better. Controls make the game basically unplayable for me, which is a shame because this is probably my favorite game ever.

This barrels of fun and it runs, and looks fantastic. BUT...I wish I could use my plug in controller. I can do everything in the game except shoot. I've noticed others having frustration with the controls as well even without controllers or gamepads. Hopefully there might be an update in the near future!

The unity port is good overall but the touch screen control are not great. I wish they would just copy the controls of Freedoom which is far better, plus that game allows you to play way more mods without the annoying Slayer Club thing.

DOOM been out for almost three decades I'm not going to talk about the game itself you've heard about atleast thousand times. The port of the game is mostly good, the controls are mostly fine & it runs smoothly as a 3 decade game should; I did notice the movement felt slippery with the touch controls & both DOOM games shared most of the same add-ons. Done.

It's exactly the Doom you know and love. The controls are as good as you can expect, but certainly not how the game is best played. Edited to 5 stars because they implemented external controller function that I originally complained about. As of this update it crashed when loading my old save but started a new game just fine.

When this Doom 2 mobile port was first released I was quite disappointed to say the least. Everything was broken and the port was near unplayable. However, with all these updates the mobile port is more playable and enjoyable.

Touch controls should be ripped and torn from this game. Input lag along with the janky will he/won't he run scheme is an abomination. Lastly, .wav file importing is apparently difficult. Even after 25+ years, we still get different pitched sound effects. Wonder if that's just a bug/limitation of the engine itself? Still inexcusable for modern machines when SoundBlaster 16's got it right on launch day. Otherwise this is a competent port.

Not sure whats going on, but the game seems to be suffering from controller drift. when I go to shoot, the view keeps moving left. I also bought the original Doom today and that doesn't have the issue. If this gets corrected, I'd gladly rate it higher.

I am so frustrated. I LOVE Doom, and this is a very beautiful port onto mobile, looks gorgeous and runs smoothly. The issue is the controls. They just don't translate well into touch screen. I really tried to give it chance because of how big of a doom fan I am, but it just sadly doesn't work well on mobile.

Mic. W. Feb 5, 2022

The game is amazing and the fact that there is controller support makes it that much more promising. Im only giving 3 stars because the input lag on ps4 controllers is terrible. Im fine with the touch controls but i was excited to use a controller but now i dont want to with the state of the input lag. Is there anyway to adjust that?

Bri. S. Aug 22, 2020

Installed as free perk for my new chromebook. I cannot shoot. I can move, but not shoot. I tried every button on the keyboard including the default ctrl. Mouse buttons do not shoot either. I don't have a touch screen. If you can fix it, I'd love to play it.
