I don't have issues with the image during the day, but of course, that is not when things are locked. For night, there is no automatic schedule to turn on the IR cut filter. Therefore, unless you manually hit the IR illumination button when using the app, you get an awful, grainy image. If you can code in a button, how hard would it be to create an automatic schedule? It adds complexity to access control, not alleviates it. I cannot recommend this product to customers for that reason.

It's alright, gets the job done. However, could be improved: - notifications are often delayed for up to a minute - in general I would prefer if it wasn't a notification, but a call instead, so it would ring till you answer it PS my internet connection is steady, stop blaming the problem with with the delayed notifications on the connection and fix it!

The app is barely functional: - Frequently dropped events (no push notification, no sound, nothing) - Even when it delivers the notification, the app uses media volume instead of notification volume. If you had your music volume turned down, you're not going to notice your doorbell Keep in mind, this is AFTER I've turned off battery optimization and allowed unrestricted background data usage for the app in Android's settings. The developer clearly doesn't know what they're doing

Nice and stable app that does it's job. One huge issue that I have with the app is that I cannot set a fixed ip address for my Doorbird device. Like many other security and privacy aware users I keep all my IoT devices on a separate VLAN. Since the Doorbird app tries to locate the Doorbird device automatically (in it's own subnet) it will eventually fallback to a (slower) cloud connection. This issue could be easily solved by the app developer with an in-app config option...

Not a good & modern Android app. Notifications are often delayed (iphone rings way before), the notification should be high priority (it won't ring in do not disturb), video feed should prefetch, the "key" button should be enabled as soon as the app opens and not wait for video (especially annoying as our key is in another app). The kevo integration should make an API call to open rather than app switch. This makes me hate when people ring our door.

Doorbell notification volume is dependent on your phone's current volume setting. If it is in Silent mode, you will probably not know that someone is at the door pressing the bell. Would be great if the app can build in a function that can control the phone volume (adjust the volume upwards) when the bell button is pressed.

This product has been improved I owned an earlier one that had some problems. This new upgraded version is excellent no complaints just make sure that it is installed by a professional and you learn how to work it and coordinate it with your phone it is well worth the price

The app works well on my OP5 android phone although through trial and error I did have to make some phone changes to get reliable notifications through within a half-second of 4D movement or bell button press. First change was to turn off app optimisation for the Doorbird app to stop the phone from sleeping the app. Second change is to turn off MAC address randomisation. I also use the D1101 doorstation with Blue Iris software which is excellent.

Usually a 10 sec+ delay between the actual doorbell ring and opening the app and getting the camera loaded. Then another 5-10 sec delay to trigger the door to open and for it to actually open. This doesn't seem like much, but turns out is exactly long enough for your delivery people to get impatient and leave. I've had too many instances where i frantically try to open the app only to see the delivery man leaving as i desperately attempt to trigger the door to open. This app gives me savage anxiety as i helplessly watch half of my delivery people leave with an undelivered package in real time... and can't do anything about it

There's a big problem with smartphones without GMS (Google Mobile Service) - the notification, when the doorbell is pressed, doesn't work (Huawei P40 pro). Hope this issue will be solved soon... ....thanks for your answer, I activated "Auto-launch, Secondary launch and Run in background" but still do not get any notifications, when somebody rings. Guess doorbird doesn't work with AOSP.... sorry, very sorry!

The app is supposed to allow visitors search for your name on the door terminal. However, you can't add your name to the directory even as a resident with a login. To do so, you need to call DoorBird, and they type tour name for you a price of $90/name. Depending on how long your name is, this comes to $10-$45 per character that they have to type. Another issue: door code works about 33% of the time. The other 67% "Action performed" message appears but nothing happens. Same code each time.

The device itself is great but is let down majorly by the app. Video stream takes forever to load (if at all) even on LAN (with the doorbird wired in via ethernet) and sometimes just times out. Viewing the stream via the browser within the LAN is instantaneous!

Frame rate and audio sampling is too low from WAN or 4G connections. On my Android phone the app does not pop up automatically on push notification. Requires improvement.

Disappointed. Doorbird misses a lot of events. I had a delivery where the box measured 6ft by 3ft. Right to the front door. Nothing on Doorbird. This isn't a one time thing. It misses a lot of stuff. Would not recommend. FYI. This is hard wired into a POE switch with 100 up and down bandwidth

Using the multi tenant unit. Works very well. Two way audio/video stream opens instantly on demand. Unlocks doors also instantly and consistently. Customer service when needed is there to help. I would prefer a higher resolution than 720.

Reliable and fairly easy to use. The app interfaces could be much more user friendly though.E.g. It is impossible to change the notification sound and the little bird song is cute but too easy to miss. You can't personalise the relay labels

I love the idea of doorbird. Unfortunately after our condo switched to their products everyone in the building is missing deliveries. The doorbell sound is super quiet because it's based on your phones media volume rather that phone ringer volume. That means if you have media set to be quiet (which most people do) there is almost no chance of hearing their cute little bird singing. We now are missing packages constantly, and we're out a lot of money getting the system up and running.

I talked with Tech support because the factory reset would not work. they told me the problem was my phone. I tried a factory reset with a different phone and they tell me they don't know why it's not working, but most likely it can only be done on a laptop. I go home to download the app on my laptop and there is no doorbird app for windows. Tech support is a joke.

While the concept of an app to open doors is fine by me, I just can't recommend this app. It's regularly slow, and twice in the last week I haven't been able to get into my building. This controls a lock - reliability is king

Lots of room for improvement. App does not always connect to the DoorBird or BirdGuard: "Connection Lost" ... via mobile, WAN and also in the LAN. No way to see what's happening ... e.g. Logs or better admin options. Depending on Doorbird support - which could be better !? Safety?

needs improvement. missing audio equalizer, custom motion detection area grid too large. unit doesn't take full advantage of internet speed. my unit doesn't have infra red which causes lots of false alarm. no google home integration.

Works great, satisfied! One feature request: setting to auto-open the app on ringing. We use it on a tablet on the wall and it would be great to avoid extra touches to open via notification. Thank you!

Notification sound volume is tied to Media volume instead of Notification volume on Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, Android 11. Please fix, I usually run media level on zero or very low and notifications maxed out to hear calls, texts and obviously I'd like to hear Doorbird as well.

Dee. G. Mar 24, 2021

easy to use app, quality is ok, but sound cuts out after 30 secs. Main issue is when it's installed on more than one device, you can't tell whether the other person has answered or not!

Cli. B. Jan 1, 2021

The app is a 50/50 shot on how well it works. Would not recommend the hardware or the app. Our association paid 35K for this system. The association got this system to improve building security and help with package theft. Due to the latency of connection many of our packages get left outside. If you get a driver that will wait for you to answer you just may get lucky. Our system does have a code you can enter for delivery but the code works 60% of the time.

On my pixel 4a, I'm getting the notifications about a minute late. By that time the person who ringed at the door is long gone, rendering the doorbird effectively useless. Other apps have no delay in their notifications.
