This didn't work and I can't get a refund. DO NOT BUY!! You have to purchase it first, then figure out if you can get it to work. It didn't for me and there are better options. If you have a constant internet connection, a better way is to install steam and dosbox on your computer. Add dosbox to your steam games via the "add a game not on steam" option. Then put steamlink on your phone. You can set up everything in dosbox on your pc, but run it through your phone. Much easier. (And free)
This is a reasonable DosBox port, with the focus on DosBox setup whch allows you get games launcued and running, and it can even get Windows 3.11 running. However there's not enough customisation of the interface between touch screen and DOS available, so games tend to be harder to actually play than they could be. You can get them started, but are unlikely to play to completion.
The app is broken! I'm using Android 8.1 and although DosBox 'works', it consistently comes up saying 'license check failed, cycles limited' even when the internet is turned on. The app hasn't been updated in years and you'd do well to avoid it or find a version that actually works. Save yourself the hassle and don't bother buying it as you can't use the full app anymore.
It doesn't make it very clear what's what and how to do things. I don't know how to set on-screen buttons like arrow keys, or even if the feature exists, so it's very hard to control games. Other than that: It's the best mobile Dosbox port I've found.
this doesn't happen with dosbox free. if I switch to another app, then back to dosbox turbo, the screen is a tiny box. This doesn't fix unless I close an reopen the app.
Can not type into dosbox at all. I change launch config so I can get into Fantasy Empires <3 but when it comes time to enter any type I can't enter it. I guess the app works to a degree but the older version was way better. Pretty sure its been abandoned by developers since I paid for the app a few years ago. Oh yay. Don't bother with this app
Abandoned by DEV, don't waste your time on this one. Not compatible with current Android releases. When it was working, it was OK, but nothing amazing above a free one I used. Emulation was surprisingly slow in fact.
Great experience. I guarantee you 99% of the bad reviews are written by people who have no idea what they're doing. This DOS Box app works great and does exactly what you want it to do. I can also reccomend their wonderfully simple frontend (free). Even got my MT-32 emulation up and running fairly fast. No complaints on my part. [this review is intended for the paid version]
It was great on my pixel but I got a note 10+ and the keyboard doesn't work. I can type commands but they never appear so I can't actually do anything. I've got all the gabe's from my pixel on my note but I can't play them with being able to type. Please look into this.
License verification keeps failing. dosbox free had better features, and my phone doesnt support it. i dont want to play with 2000 cycles and horrible midi sounds. how can i get this sorted out?
Keyboard cant even show up. Which is the only way to type commands. Practically waste of money. Useless.
Why is it that I cannot use software I have payed for? Even though Google Play shows that I have purchased it, I cannot use the software because the licence verification fails. I followed troubleshooting tips including deleting the play store cache and data, restarting and reinstalling but nothing works.
Works great. If you want sound, remember to tap menu (3 dots), Settings, DosBox Settings, and check Manual Mode. Exit the program and edit dosbox.conf in Downloads, changing pcspeaker to true. Restart the program. Now you'll have to type mount c /storage/emulated/0/Download/ and then type c: each time you start the program.
This app used to work great, but now it says it's not compatible with my current android version. The keyboard won't work and I can find any support on how to fix it.
Do you think you could make the app Chromebook friendly? Running it in a tiny window or fullscreen is not going to work. Need to be able to resize the window. Thanks.
Android version specific (doesn't like lastest versions) which I couldn't find mentioned anywhere in the apps description/faqs etc. Ergo, may be wasting ones time downloading this.
The best emulation of Dos. Has all the commands. This app was very nostalgic for me. It felt like I was in the 20th century again! If only there was such thing as a 5.14" sd card, it'd be just like old times of my childhood.
Pile of garbage just stops working. "Reconfigure hardware options" is all I get when trying to launch a game. What does that even mean?
The app has a blurry picture, does not work correctly on chrome os and they refused to give me a refund. Avoid this product. Use Magic Dosbox Free instead.
Requires an always-online connection, otherwise they call you a thief and limit the software that you paid money for. "License check failed. Cycles are limited." Might want to avoid it out of principle.
Love the app so I bought it and it's amazing but I keep getting license check failed but it doesn't matter as it is a small issue and there are fixes online so I just want to thank you for a really great app
Worked great on older versions of Android. Now the app is broken. Needs external storage access.
Great concept, looks pretty good. 1. How do I donate? This seems like a worthy project. 2. How do I use the keyboard? The onscreen keyboard only works with the Enter Key. Can't type any letters.
So far Cant get a Image to run. all running fine on Magic dos. and the mouse control is also a pain.
I can see how great this app can be but unfortunately I cannot type anything into command line. Samsung Galaxy s8+
For some reason this app is more glitchy than the free one. More lag, glitched audio.
Always some convoluted way to get the game to run out of the many times ive tried this, its never worked
License verification is completely broken. App is borderline unusable. Switching to magic dosbox.
Very nice Dos emulator. There are many possibilities for customization of input. I found some issues, though. There are problems with calibration of the joystick for some games and even calibrated it's difficult to use. The overlay buttons can be used for games like Tetris, but the app cannot register more than one of them being pressed simultaneously. Otherwise, I'm having fun playing turn based games.
