doubleTwist Music Player, Sync

I'm so happy I found this app! I have a large collection in iTunes and it's always been difficult to sync it with my Android devices, especially now that I've gotten a Pixel. Not only does this sync the playlists I want, but the music player itself was what I was looking for as I couldn't find a usable alternative to YT Music for Android that actually read my playlists. It was extremely easy to figure out the first time I set up a transfer.

GREAT app and I love the interface. I have a large itTunes library (~700GB) and I used this app to sync 60GB worth of playlists to my phone. Wasn't sure if it was syncing properly at first but then all of a sudden it was finished complete with album covers. Took less than two hours which isn't much different than my iPod. I gladly paid the $10 for the Pro version to use AirSync but the free version would have worked just fine. Thanks to this app I was able to keep my iTunes playlists, play them via bluetooth in my truck, and ditch my iPod (sold on Ebay). I never leave reviews or pay for apps but this one was worth it - big thanks to the developers.

I've been trying different media players since Google discontinued its Music Player. Organizing classical music ain't easy. It's usually organized by composers & artists & artists frequently includes more than one composer in their albums. I have found a bunch of media players that not always handle right the ID3 tags. THIS ONE FITS THE BILL. When I found an issue, I fix with it the metadata. I strongly recommend the Pro Version. IT HANDLE THE SOUND GREAT. Not enough char left for writing more.

This is an excellent app with a beautiful and intuitive user interface. I was looking for a way to transfer all 15k songs from iTunes and this was the perfect app. UPDATE: My phone no longer connects to the app when I try to connect wirelessly. This has continuously given me trouble until it just finally stopped working altogether. It's by far the nicest looking app with the most features. If it can't do what it's supposed to do, who cares how it looks.

3 problems. 1. The loudness normalizion addon doesn't work. Disappointing as you have to pay extra for it. They need to add a slider or value for the strength of the effect like in Windows so you can make it stronger. 2. When opening the app it seems to rapidly cycle through (some/all?) songs before finally continuing the shuffle I had previously set which takes time. 3. Doesn't find and display all m4a songs for some reason, even though other apps do and play them no problem. So broken.

I just purchased the pro version. So far it's been better than I expected. It can handle all my 24bit audio files and I like that I can stream my music to my DLNA receiver. I also like that I can browse my SD card by folders just like in my computer. I was using poweram for many years but browsing by folders was a little frustrating and I couldn't find an option to send audio to DLNA.

Excellent - finally found an app that syncs my PC (Win10) based iTunes library with my Samsung (Android 12) phone onto a microSD card. Seems to do it well and relatively quickly. Puts a nice simple Music folder at top level of the SD card (perfect for any other music app to scan / access). Have tried other apps which seem to either work intermittently or have stopped / have problems with accessing the SD card so pleased with DoubleTwist.

Freqent SSD card ejects while playing, disrupts music flow where I have to restart my phone completely. Dealt with issue for a month and I'm done with it, with no current updates, I'm totally unsure when this "bug" is fixed. Awesome app overall, had it since the PnP play where I streamed my playlist to my Xbox 360 back then.

Great app! I had over 4,000 songs on my iTunes that I wanted to put on my phone for the longest time - most apps will import the songs, but not the playlists. DoubleTwist did it all, flawlessly. Takes a bit of time to sync, but all told, that's not a big deal. Best music app!

Does the app work? Yes. Does it work well? No. The first few times I tried to sync, less than a tenth of my songs actually ended up on my device. The website helped, but upgrading to Pro worked better. Even so, I had to restart and re-sync over the course of hours to get all of my music on my phone. Even now, some of my playlists don't function properly, especially playlists organized by date. I also discovered, after all of that trouble, that captions for songs don't appear to transfer at all.

I love Double Twist, been using it for years for my 6,000+ songs. However I have discovered a few Issues I hope you help me with. First is that for a while my album art for the same artist was the same. It doesn't do this anymore but didn't fix the one's affected. More importantly I have an issue where I can't select songs in my playlists, which is very annoying. Please help, I believe this is the best music player there is and I'd like to enjoy it fully.

Decent app, lots of good things. However, there is a major issue when trying to adjust playlists. When trying to move a song up or down the order in your playlist, it will randomly jump and jumble all the albums around that song. So instead of having each album seperate, it will have the first song from the first album, then the first song from the second album, then the first from the third, etc. Only way I can seem to fix it is to manually adjust each song, which can take an hour. Ridiculous.

I have a love-hate relationship with this app. When it works correctly I love it and can't find its equal. But I can't get it to import my playlists from iTunes. I changed the settings in iTunes to allow this but it's still not working. I emailed support a while back with no response. I'm debating whether to find another app and just put up with it not being as good but syncs my playlists, or going through and re-adding all the songs to my playlists manually in DoubleTwist. Huge inconvenience.

My biggest disappointment is that bookmarks are erased when you cast. The feature I liked the most, and bought the premium app for, was remembering playback position for long audio files. However, when you choose to cast these files or stop casting them, to play on your phone, it will erase the bookmark position and reset to the beginning. The app is useless to me now. For playing music just like any other basic music app it seems fine. Just not worth the money for the premium features.

Incredibly disappointing! I already had a player I really liked and had no complaints with, there were just a few additional capabilities I wished it had and I went browsing other players out of curiosity. This one just happened to have literally every extra feature I wanted, so I installed it almost immediately. Well all those extras, the only attributes that made me interested in this app in the first place? Yeah, every single one is blocked and only accessible by paying for the upgraded version. In fact, it has even LESS features than my current player because almost nothing is included. They've boasted all these features but none are actually available because they've made them ALL part of the paid version. This is the most basic, bare bones player, no better than the generic player that came with my phone. Unless you plan on paying, don't bother!

This app is great for managing your media content between your PC and your android device. You do need the app on your PC to sync your media content between both systems. The only down side is the look and feel. It doesn't have the standard look and feel you see on other music app. It's almost like this was done by mobile developers and not UI developers. This would need an improvement. Overall, the managing side is great but not the look and feel.

Based on the apps performance in music and video playback of files already on my S10 - very good- I upgraded to the Pro version. Turned out to be a mistake and I missed the window to request a refund. If you are planning on using it for the AirSync features, be prepared for a very frustrating experience. I have been trying to get it to work for about 5 hours in total. It took a very long time to read my iTunes files into the desktop app but it is still not transferring files between my iMac and my Samsung S10. The documentation on the developer's website is not helpful. Overall a very disappointing experience.

The jury's still out on the player, and I'll update this review after I get to know it better. However the sync is excruciatingly slow when you have multiple large playlists. I think this is because for every playlist you try to sync, it checks every song to see if it has been synced every time it appears. Much better would be to go through the playlists first, get the list of distinct songs, and then sync the songs just once.

It used to be really good, but now it randomly stops playing. Yesterday I was streaming to my truck stereo and it stopped three times before I got out of the driveway. Tried clearing the cache, reinstalling, etc, no difference. I finally gave up and am running a different app without issue. I tried the fix listed in the reply below, still didn't work.

This app has worked pretty well for me over the years. I use it mainly for podcasts. Recently, I have had trouble deleting episodes of podcasts after listening. Some artwork and album covers are no longer showing. I am going to continue using the app. Short term, I would rate the app 3 stars. Long term I would rate the app 4 stars. I would help with more details, but I am not a software developer. I am just a consumer.

I’m sorry but your desktop Double Twist app is not good. In fact it belongs to 1999. There are no back buttons to get to previous views. Once I’ve selected an album I can't get back to the entire library on my computer list. When I do send an album to the phone I can’t que up another until the first one is loaded to the phone. The only way around that is to pick multiple albums at one. I think I would do well to just pull my chip out of my phone and load it up in the finder. It would be much faster. The frustration and time wasting levels are beyond my patience threshold. It’s too much work, too much waiting.

I dealt with a few crashes, and sometimes when I try to move multiple songs at once from my laptop to my phone, the songs do not transfer though it says one file was transfered. Then I close the app try again, and again, and eventually it works as it should. The 4 stars is because this app is quite convenient when it works. Also I absolutely love the radio and podcast feature; that is really awesome.

I purchased the full version of this app and I want to like it but there are some game-breaking problems that lead to the 2 star review. ***Pros /// It displays my album artwork properly where other players did not.
