Downloader & Private Browser

Absolutely terrible. you touch your screen u get an ad then changing tabs or quickly going out then back into the app causes your tab to go blank and you can't do anything like reload the page. Closing the ad or pop up tab will cause your tab to go blank with no options to restore your page. You will have to close the app and go back In the app which then opens another ad. The app works when it wants to. Now it doesn't process videos. Can't save or download anything.

App is intrusive with too many ads, and installs other apps on its own when attempting to export downloaded videos to your library. Also, the export feature seems to work 3 times out of 10. You're basically forced to watch most videos you downloaded in the app and get an ad thrown at you every other video. This used to be a great app as "Private browser and downloader" before it became Kode.

9/18 - So before the recent update, it was good. Now, pages aren't saved on the browser between uses, and you cannot go back to a previous page that you were on, despite the buttons being there. Also, there is no browser history whatsoever. Those are three functions every other mobile browser has. Terrible. Edit: 12/19 - I've come back to this browser after a year, and I'm very pleasantly surprised with how much it has changed compared to a year ago.

A very long time ago, this app used to be called Private Downloader. It was amazing, just what I needed, saved everything I wanted, and it was secure. Fast forward many years, it changed names, changed the look and layout, doesn't work properly all the time, and now, with the latest update, it took away the premium version I PAID FOR and demands that I cough up money every month to keep it ad-free. I'm finally done. At least I was able to save all of my content before uninstalling.

It is understandable that the need of ads for a "free" app.( though you basically have unaccountable access to all my personal info), generates income for you. However, the relentless amount of ads consistantly, and abruptly disrupting the user, is making it so that the purposeful use of this app. is nearly impossible. It has become so frustrating to use that it's not worth the effort. Maybe you should change the name to: "Download Time Wasting & Endless Ad Browser" , very disappointing !

Like a lot of other people, I'm very disappointed. I have used this app for years and used to love it. But I got a new phone and when I reinstalled it's completely useless. The export function used to move your downloaded videos into the "Movies" folder on internal storage so you could watch or edit or share using other apps. Now it apparently does nothing. You can only watch content within the app. What's the point of that?

UPDATE: Totally useless now. If you click a link, it opens the same page in a new window. If you click on a text search box, it opens the same page in a new window. If you click a dropdown, same thing. And it no longer downloads. Meh... it does what it does. But exporting can only be done one at a time. No option to select/move multiple downloads at once. Hey developers, it's 2019, you know you can make apps that select/move multiple items at once? Seriously, I've seen it done!!! No foolin'...

Downloaded files are not in any download folder. Plus, there isn't an option in settings to select a folder for downloaded files. Lastly, you aren't allowed to change the name of a file before you download it (this would make it a lot easier to organize files and make the downloaded files easier to find). My device is a Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus with Android v9.0 (not rooted).

Great app. First of all, we know that every downloader needs ads to allow them to do this kind of thing, and that's fine. The only thing that concerns me is when I'm browsing, sometimes, it brings me to a tab that contains ads, that causes me unable to go back to the current tab that I've been browsing, and yes, too much ads will kill you, so reduce that. But despite of that, your services are good, yet it also needs improvements.

This app works amazingly as a private browser. I also really like the feature where you can import and export the videos! However, there is one huge issue with this. I am no longer able to download videos or images. I used to use this service as a browser, a downloader, and a storage app, but the downloading feature is not working at all, and it ruins what it used to be.

This app works for the sites that I use. The amount of ads is very annoying but it is a free version. The developer should really give better instructions on how to use the app. Make sure that it has permission to access your storage. For some reason it only ask to access your contacts and of course I said no. I also had to use ES file explorer to find downloads after exporting file from app. you can use search feature within ES file explorer find file name.

1st) Way too many ads, especially the long 30 second ones that you can't exit out of and are forced to watch. 2nd) Again, way too many times it goes off into never never land and doesn't come back (like for a few minutes) which ultimately locks my phone up-forcing me to reboot. 3rd) Downloads are Very, very, very SLOW & I mean SLOW. I gave up and switched over to a WAY FASTER down loader called 'CM Browser' & NO REGRETS. This used to be a great app- the addition of all the extra ads RUINED IT!

I've already contacted you 3 times about this.... unfortunately it isn't better than ever. I can't find the folder used to store my downloads. Plus if I have to delete 1 file I can't, I have to delete the whole lot or it won't go away. Also I can't move a file to another folder. I paid to have the ads removed, so I'd like to see these problems fixed.

Permission. It's all about permissions! For everyone complaining about not being able to export your downloads, I actually contacted support. They were great, and once the problem was completely clarified they pointed out that Downloader needs permissions to access storage and the camera. So go into your app manager and make sure those permissions are set properly. I just successfully exported 20+ videos and copied them to my computer.

the new update and interface is nothing more than a shiny turd, lost all working function and format of old DPB. you no longer have a library or folder system for downloads, it's all lumped together, which if you had a bunch of files it now takes forever to find the one you want to view. the new video player does not show your fast forward or scan so you just drop in where ever you guess you wanted to pick up from. not to mention takes a long time to load anything.

If you want to download a video to watch at a later time, then decide to skip to "the good part" and basically have it act like it's on Dial-up and Buffer for 30 minutes, then this is the freaking app for you! Someone "fixed" something that wasn't broken, and now I can't export the 137 videos that I downloded. Adds show up even when you are off line on a camping trip with no Internet access, you have to wait for your Previously Downloaded Video to Buffer!

I took a few months to play with the new version before i rated it. Initially I was upset and did not like it due to the huge lag with going to my downloads. I found out that I created three of every download that I had to clean up. I had to export each one and then delete all my downloads. Once this was done the app worked great. I you said the premium membership to get rid of the ads but don't know if that got carried over. I wish still had ability to hold to open in a new tab.

This is, simply put, garbage. Some websites will refer you to this app in order to download images or videos. That wouldn't be so bad if it actually worked. There are unskippable ads, a terrible interface and at times the app can be straight up unresponsive. When you close and re-open the app, you get another unskippable ad. Save yourself the trouble, it's really not worth it.

this app was really good, until someone decided to fix something that was not broken. Since the new update was done, i cannot export my videos, every export ends up in "Kode downloads" but it does not allow me to open it. The most recent update was on the 8th of June 2019 and it's the same old story, even thou on the update "what's new" claims to have solved the exporting problem. Am stuck with a load of media files(videos) that i cannot export.

So basically you just changed the icon and interface. You made it very slow (my phone is Huahwei y9 2019 so its not a low end one), you also removed the capability to organize files into folders. In addition to that, I can't find a way to transfer my files from my phone gallery to the private storage of the app itself. Fix it ASAP or your users will find another app that does its job better.

Must admit, if it wasn't for the ads, this app would be probably the gold standard in downloading whatsoever. The Ads have to go, immediate change, other than that, I really can't see myself using another app or whatever to download things probably because there isn't any or anywhere else to go and if there was, I haven't heard of any place! To be honest, this app is probably the best app possible on PlayStore at the moment, they just need to fix certain flaws & whatever such as the ads.

I do enjoy using this app however it does have some issues that put me off to the point of perhaps using another app. The download pop up comes on way too much. You open up a site and it's there trying to download the advertising within the page. Not helpful!! Also I wanted it to be password locked.... You can set the password so that it is 'locked', however it works when it wants. And it mainly doesn't. I can open it up with the password 'on' and it won't ask me for it! Instead it lets me walk straight through 'security' and into the app. Fix it and I'd happily give 5 stars!!!

I'd give the older version a higher rating! The new remake called code is lacking what is to be desired. No import/export, the settings are minimal at best. It would be nice to still be able to select where to download to like an ad card. Also no player settings at all! Can't change speed of play or any audio settings. It would be great if we had the option to watch or view video with external audio like listening to Pandora but watching something visual that you downloaded.

Small sized app that gives you more control over the web. You can download videos and mp3s directly from the website. My only quarrel was the intermediate shutdowns. I ended up going pro with this app. It seems to be worth the money and it fixed some of the shutdowns and lockups! It's still a little slow but it is reliable when it is running well.

I can't even go into the files without commercial after commercial just to get into the files. Have tried to go into my images file i have watched five ads already haven't gotten into the image file because of it. Got to watch all these ads just to do one damn thing that doesn't take long to do in the first place. Been trying to transfer some images but can't because it keeps kicking me off into ads after ad. Uninstalling it was alright till the update with all these ads.

Great app, Chromecast needs improvement. When trying to cast to my Roku TV, the only option is "a nearby Chromecast device". Then when that doesn't work, it gives the PIN option. I have yet to figure out where the Roku TV would show me a PIN to use. So, no joy. In other news I have a Chromecast app that sees the name of the Roku TV and casts to it very well. One last, sometimes the option to Chromecast is greyed out, not sure why and no good way to get it back.
