Simple and super helpful. Just what I was looking for. I detest calorie counting and simply want to make great choices and healthy proportions. This does that.
This app is the best thing that could have happened to me. Before I had a phone that could handle apps, I made a felt lined poster board of all the categories, and used velcro-backed cutouts to mark my progress. But it's hard at the end of the day, to go back and mark everything. With this app I can do it at each meal, and it helps me know what other categories I need. Looking at nutrition information just made me depressed. But focusing on the categories of good food just helps me feel better.
Finally a diet/nutritional app that you can actually use. I have downloaded several nutrition and dining apps and found them all to be confusing and personally and possible to use. Upon the very first glance at this app, I instantly realized that this was something I could really do. Just eat the food and check the boxes on each day and you're on your way to the best nutrition possible. I highly recommend this app for those who are leaning towards a plant-based diet. 👍🏻
Its actually more challenging to get a day with 100% then i thought. Always 1 to 3 missing. It is an excellent app to keep an idea of how balanced you are eating each day, and gets you to start making positive changes in the way you eat. On a similiar topic. The documentary Dominion changed my life, I highly recommend watching it, you can find it on YouTube.
It took getting used to initially, but once I got a feel for it, eating all this nutritious food became second nature, and I feel so much better on it! I find being able to check the boxes is good motivation to stick with it too. I started about a year ago and took a break from it for a while(to figure out food sensitivities), but I'm glad I'm using it again. It's nice having an organized, simplified way to get my daily nutrition that's still easily adaptable to my individual tastes/needs.
I really like the format of foods and servings in a daily tracker. It makes it easier to choose the correct foods at each meal and reminds me of serving sizes. The additional information button for each group is helpful even though not all inclusive. Very good app for someone like me who has only been eating/cooking this way for less than a year.
Best weight loss app. Over the past 12 weeks, my partner and I have lost over 35 lbs each and we're still losing. The most I've ever lost before was 5lbs through calorie counting. But using this app, I've been able to eat until I'm full. We've also lowered our blood pressure and cholesterol, plus we feel great. It did take about 3 weeks for my sense of taste to adjust, but it's worth it because now whole foods taste much better. My kids are also eating more healthy now.
The app is great. My 4/5 comes because of two things. I find the Spanish version a bit confusing and frustrating. The names are different in Spain and in South America? For instance, I have to google certain types of food again and again, such as camote, agracejo, alazán, etc. I feel like everything is too exotic to get in the supermarket. Maybe if they add both names like batata/camote, it will sound more "familiar". Also, I am really skinny. I am not trying to loose weight so I would love it if you could add a section to gain weight in a healthy way. Thanks!
As someone who loves to make lists and check items off lists, this app provides a fun challenge for me every day, and has helped me immensely in building a more positive relationship with food. I've learned through this app that building healthy habits like adding nutritious foods into my life is much easier and more sustainable than simply restricting unhealthy foods. Would also love to see an option to make notes. Overall it's a great app, and super easy to use! Highly recommend!
Good wish it had a month view where you could see each item and go ooh I've only missed 1 or 2 times this month because it will reset every time you don't meet the goal. Wish you could also change the water glass size. I also wish it had the option for a widget to put on your screen to check things off. Great for people who are new to whole food plant based diet to know categories and if they are eating a good minimum.
i was reluctant about not eating meat because i was afraid of not getting the needed nutrition. this app solves that and is VERY easy to use and links to all kinds of other very useful information. eating all the items becomes a game at the end of the day... some of the combos can seem strane but always focused on getting all the nutrition for the day!
I love the daily dozen app. However, I just finished reading "How Not to Diet", and learned that the app has another page called 21 Tweaks. I have only been able to bring up 21 Tweaks page a few times. Mostly the app won't change from daily dozen to tweaks. I am using a Samsung android phone. Can someone help me with getting the app to switch back and forth between pages?
I love this app, made going plant-based super easy! Two suggestions though: 1.I wish the calendar had a "week" option, not just day, month, year. 2.I wish it had an option for fasting - e.g., on a day you're fasting you check a fasting box (could be in the checkbox area or on the calendar), and it disregards that day for the daily/monthly/annual averages. Without that, your averages plummet when you fast, which really skews the data regarding how well you're hitting your 24 during non-fast days.
This app gives me confidence about getting the necessary daily nutrition in a very simple way. It's a life-saver really. I'm vegan myself but know quite some ex-vegetarians who all went back to eating meat solely because of malnutrition. It's a shame and a big loss for them and for the animals. With this app no-one needs to worry about malnutrition ever again!
This is a great little app. A handy way to ensure a well-rounded plant-based diet. One downside (others have mentioned, too)... only one box for exercise? All or nothing? How about 3 boxes? Each would represent 30 minutes of moderate or 15 minutes of more strenuous exercise. I don't know too many people who can devote 90 minutes to exercise each day, but it would be nice to recognize those increments along the way. Some are not physically able to do so either... yet. Just sayin'.
This app is absolutely essential for those who truly care about their own health and haven't been swept into the lies of the animal agriculture industry and want to eat a Whole Food Plant-based Diet (WFPBD) which is a diet some vegans follow (others eat vegan junk food). This app has became part of my daily routine to make sure that I meet my daily nutritional needs and it's hard to imagine going without it.
Perfect! It's like a reminder for you to make sure you ate enough of important stuff for your health and to check if it's enough already of something else, like nuts or nut butter. Simple check list that helps you be organized. Pressing each food type it prompts you to a page with description of what emount you are supposed to eat daily for this food and why. No Adds, no strings! THANK YOU!
Kindly remove or offer to hide the weigh yourself twice per day option: It can be really triggering for people recovering from eating disorders or disordered eating. It can lead to obsessions, compulsions and quite the rabbit whole. Plus, one study isn't enough to prove that it works, and that it works long-term at that. Other than that this app is great.
Lacks any customization options. It is important to fast, right now I eat twice per day, eventually will switch to once per day. Look up David Sinclair for more info. Anyway, some bits here require three meals to be eaten per day. Also, there are no olives or potatoes. Potatoes are a super food, come on. 😁 Though there are sweet potatoes, which may be a better alternative. Why not olives though? Also most grains are very unhealthy, I feel like it should be explained in-app which grains to eat.
