As a machine learning engineer, I love the idea behind this app! Unfortunately, the execution leaves much to be desired. The app froze on me and had other annoying quirks. At one point it tried to increment my weighted crunch from 12 reps at 20 lbs to 8 reps at 75 lbs! For an app this expensive they really ought to grind out quirks like this as quickly as possible.
I have been using Dr. Muscle for two years now and this app gives me confidence and provides structure to my workouts. I love that the app adapts to you and is quite "forgiving" when you do fail while encouraging you to push harder each time. It has really demystified all the elements of training for hypertrophy so I can get straight to lifting after a hard day at work without having to think about everything! I look forward to the analysis of my "performance" after every exercise and love to see those green check marks indicating progress. I have recently subscribed to "Eve" the dietary equivalent to this app and while it's in its early stages of development I'm looking forward to similarly great things.
Excellent app! I've been lifting for over 15 years now as well as have my Personal Training certification. Over the years I've always done my own programming based on research and experience. This also meant carrying around a notebook, pen and stopwatch every time I worked out. This app caught my eye and I thought I'd give it a shot at the introductory pricing. The Daily Undulating periodization and rest pause are an excellent combo to muscle growth. Best part is everything is also customizable
I was intrigued by the scientific approach to personalized weight training with this app, but was really bothered by the interface and cost. The first time I used the app it showed that I worked out over the past 2 weeks (I didn't) and I was expecting a free month trial, but ended after 2 weeks, so I did not feel like I could fully evaluate it's potential despite a bug or two. Customer service was responsive. the website and emails were misleading about reduced pricing. app still in development?
My strength-gains had long stagnated and I was sure I was effectively at my non-steroid limit before purchasing this app. I've now been using it for 200 days and have been progressively increasing strength in virtually every lift the entire time. Even though the application is amazing, it is still being updated with more features and being kept up-to-date with the most recent research. Dr. Muscle is a perfect example of, "You get what you pay for". It was worth every penny and I don't see myself unsubscribing anytime in the foreseeable future.
Very helpful and useful. Helping to transform my body. I love the programming and the team is super responsive.
Got the subscription, so far so good! However there are things that need updating like the interface and features that need to be added, e.g specific weights instead of increments. However, It's a sufficient app with splendid AI
BEWARE TRY BEFORE YOU BUY! I eagerly purchased the annual perk after reading the reviews. However after using it for over a week, I was dissatisfied with it. For the amount of money I paid I was expecting a lot more features. I understand that the app is new and after talking with Customer Service I offered to give the app another chance if they changed my subscription from one-year to a one-month membership. However Dr. Juneau would NOT accept my compromise or give me a refund.
Very confusing app, with no guide to help you navigate it when you first open it. Gave me a customised bodyweight training workout when I wanted a gym workout, as was advertised. No idea how to change it. There's are loooong lists of exercises, and routines somewhere... Why? What do I do with it? Are they all customised to me? Support is non-existant unless you buy their premium membership, to access a group chat, lol. There's also a 1-on-1 chat support option, but no one's ever there.
Absolutely one of the best with an active developer who genuinely seems to care about doing all this. I came from iPhone and an app called FitBod and stumbled on this and it's absolutely a worthy competitor, if not better. Only reason I uninstalled and had to move on is I'm a single parent and disabled vet and can't afford a subscription to anything, even when it's worth every dime like this app is. No affiliation and not a promoted review, just a genuine fan. I'll be back one day!
I’ve really been enjoying using this app for working out. It’s very challenging at times and takes longer in the gym than I would like some days, but I’ve definitely noticed a difference already. It makes it easy to continuously improve. In March I weighed close to 230#, with a change in diet, some medical support and your program, I’m down to 205# now – which has been my goal for a long time. Hoping that I will continue to lose fat and start to build more muscle as I continue your program.
I've had the app for at least two and a half years now, and I can definitely say that I've gained a significant amount of muscle. It's hard to quantify it though because I was at a high body fat with less muscle when I first started using the app. At 5'10" I was 240lbs with at least 35% bodyfat and now I would say that I am at 210lbs with 18-20% bodyfat.
Not perfect, but far better than any other app or programme I've used before, continually updated and improved with quick in app support. Definitely worth the price.
App just struggles, not optimized I guess. Every command takes seconds to execute. Upping the reps is plain annoying. I tried to use the app and exercise but the user experience was all wrong for me. And : "share on facebook" is so passé
Customer service for this app is exceptional and the app is continually being improved based on customer feedback.
Great alternative to an actual human personal trainer if your schedule is always dynamic. The charts and graphs and many various options are outstanding.
This app is the most ingenious, adaptable fitness app on the market. You can trust its suggestions...they are spot on useful. It takes away the testosterone in your lifting decisions and puts science back into it. I love it!!
I really like this app and how it progresses. I would have given 5 stars but it's so expensive.
The idea isn't bad but the app itself does a poor job with recommendations, it's slow, hard to use, it wastes time. There are plenty already good alternatives. Honestly. I respect Dr. Juneau but this is simply not his best idea.
Did like the app until I saw the subscription prices. This app is sadly only for the wealthy. We're talking over 50 dollars a month, which I guess is too much for the majority of people. With another business model and/or prices this app could reach a much broader audience!
Dr. Muscle app guides me and have helped me gain abs. The workouts suggested by the app based on my equipment are ideal and works well for me. Looking forward to using this app to help with my training goals.
Maximizing the time in the gym takes preparation. This app eliminates that and does a better job then I did with hours of preparation. I've seen amazing gains with less work.
Way too expensive! Fitbot and Bodbot offer the same ai training coach for a far more reasonable price. At the price your asking I can see a personal trainer once a month!
Love it, all I have to do is show up and do what I'm told. Just started cutting for summer (Warrior diet modified fasting) .
A Great App. Intuitive. Adjusts to you ability. Well worth the buy.
Riddled with bugs and quirks; Practically, unuseable. And they have the audacity to charge money for this app.
from preset workouts to fully customized, SCIENCE BASED, it will guide you to your goals.Awesome!
Great 👌 results it's very helpful although it's challenging 💪
I've been weight lifting since wrestling in jr high school and be 63 next week. This is the best app for weight training because it allows you to train smart. It's easy to fall into the "more means more" mentality where you think faster progress means doing more sets, more weight, more workouts. But that often leads to stagnation or even regression. This app helps you avoid that overtraining trap by intelligently adjusting your volume, intensity, and workout frequency based on past performance.
