I decided not to play PGo on my walk today, and was surprised by how solid this game was instead. It's incredibly similar to PGo, which was a plus for me- it was easy to adjust to the interface. While the game was alright, it definitely has its share of issues. The ball throwing was extremely inconsistent, especially when I tried to throw curveballs, or "twisted throws," which flew off the screen roughly half of the time. Some of the creature designs are very cool, but a few are borderline ugly.
I love the game but there needs to be more creature spawns, like everytime you open the app there's a creature that spawns so you get further into the game. Another thing is when there's the stops to get items from, make it so you don't have to stand right on top of them for them to work. Some of the creatures are really cute though!! Another issue that's frustrating is the balls won't be consistent when trying to throw them and catch a creature.
There's a lot of faults in this game. Like for example, it took a lot of time in the catching animation and also in evolving, it doesn't give all of the "know-how"s of the game, difficult to throw the ball and to touch the target, a bug where the ball doesn't reset if you miss the target, and most of all, draconius should be about dragons right? But I haven't encountered any of them and just some creepy looking bugs and frogs.
The game seems nice and I want to get into it, but in a game about catching dragons... There are almost no dragons. I've played for a day and only saw one while I was out. The art of the characters seems very nice, better than what I expected. But please, make your menus and UI elements more original. The game would be more appealing if it didn't look just like Pokemon go. Edit: Is the primary way to find creatures to tag them and then travel to the tower? Also bestiary descriptions would be nice.
3.5 Good: A lot of great ideas. The shovel game is pure fun. A lot of very cool monster designs. Very customizable Draconius screens. Fun battle system. So-so: Putting POI in a random and somewhat evenly spread out manner is nice for people not living close to urban areas, but it ends up taking some of the fun out of exploring and discovering new things, as well as putting them in awkward places like people's property. Not so good: The throwing mechanics make curveballs just about impossible.
This is a pretty fun game. Very similar to PokeGO, but with other creatures, and more features. Some of the graphics could be better, but overall a great experience. It would be nice if all of the markers were on the street side of buildings, as some in my area are unreachable (being in someone's backyard for example), which is why only 4 stars
I downloaded this to see if it was friendlier to rural players then pokemon go. I liked a lot about the game but the mapping system. as well as half the stops were located off the road either in the woods, pasture or in someone's yard. I even drove out to the small town I live near to see if it was better. however there was nothing in reasonable walking distance . I have not gone to a larger city as I am looking for something to play as I walk near my home. Changed it to 5 stars since the developer is trying to make this game better for players.
I've been playing this game for a month....catching animals is more of a pain as they don't have a very wide hit area, so you use many more balls. Also, the animals in arenas never lose health unless you defeat them while they are at full strength 3 times, so players with stronger animals can dominate an arena forever unless you're lucky enough to catch or hatch a really strong animal, which is doubtful. Finally, the arenas and turn Stiles were placed randomly, many are inaccessible.
It's a pretty solid A.R game. Sometimes I have issues with the throwing mechanics, but It's minimal. I definitely enjoy the creature designs (I haven't seen a dragon, but I have about a quarter of my bestiary filled) they're pretty unique. I'm at level 15 and I got here fairly quickly. There's plenty of stops around. So I don't feel any need to complain. I love the pvp and feel this game is moving in a solid direction. I play this and Pokemon go. I enjoy one just as much as the other and play them as close to simultaneously as possible. Good job guys
Would have liked this game a lot but there are some issues. Throwing the ball is just awful. The "curve ball" goes off the screen most of the time, if you find a strong type, that ball is almost guaranteed to never even come close to hitting it and catching it. I am a pro with pogo curve balls, but I wasted every ball I had trying to just hit the strong type. I had no choice but to uninstall. I don't see spending real money on balls until that is fixed.
I love this game and its extremely obvious they're copying pgo and you should really implement a way to save your account bc I first started playing this game soon after it became available and now that I've started back playing it I had to start back over so all my progress and creatures I once had are no more so please create a way for players to save their progress, especially in the result they have to switch phones we can just pick up where
What a cool/cute game! You can tell a lot of love went into making it. The critters are creative, there are a ton of things to hit/spin even though I'm in a rural area, and it tells you exactly where the creature is to catch it!! I really like that feature. Complaints: I wish they would explain the blue and red order. If we can't change it later, tell me what it is first! Some info in the creatures would be nice too.
Edit: After playing Pokémon GO, this is no comparison to that. Very bad throwing mechanics and not good custom creatures. Will not continue playing. Review: There is no light brown hair color for the character. Please add real hair colors. No pet interaction, can't feed or walk with it on map. No creature AR, can't see or interact with in the real world after being caught. Also, please add more creatures.
Great game! At first it look likes like a ripoff PoGo, but you have to play it quite a bit to understand it isn't completely PoGo. I love the Golden Egg Hunt feature and the even distribution of pillars. I just sometimes feel disappointed to see no spawns or pillars in some parks. And the designs of a lot of creatures are just weird or stupid.... Don't let that stop you! It's a great game with some great designs! Just wish the designs were better for creatures. Love Frogus though, it's adorable!
More to do than PoGo especially for a beginner. Instead of always losing out to bigger players you only face players at your medal level (Starter, Silver, Gold). More objects to visit if you don't live in a city centre (pillars are found in side streets instead of just near places of interest. Not as many people playing yet but there's plenty you can do to give yourself an advantage with a good collection of strong creatures while you wait
I used to play ages ago but stopped. Recently I started playing again. Alot is new and im impressed with the upgrades theyve made and smaller requirements for qwests the 15/25 piller follow the leader was impossible . That said the amount of ads to watch is crazy and most of the time they don't work. Then you get told your moving too fast all the time even when not moving. Not to mention the game saying Internet connection lost when it hasn't been lost.... I expected more creatures since i quit
Great game, tho the power parameter is too weak also causing curve balls to go off screen and registering middle range throws into short range, guess that's why it's a good thing there's no long range monsters yet, and I feel as if the screens not equally calibrated because if you don't swipe right down the middle of your screen, then your ball goes off course. Hope this review helps out. Definitely recommended for stylus gameplay.
I really enjoy the app now after it's had enough time to be finally find tuned, the only thing I kind of wish there would be was stuff that would have to do the creatures more, like giving everyone of them their own personal boi or something I'd love to know more about them, it just feels a little empty when you open their bestiary page and all you see is the photos for the evolutions, you could really use the space below the photos to at least give a brief bio to give them each more character.
I love this game. The creatures are very beautiful. It's engaging, but not as demanding and stressful as, say, a Niantic game. It has magic and dragons. There's a wonderful Discord group. It's as if you combined Pokemon Go with Harry Potter Wizards Unite, but took out most of the glitches, stressors, complexity, and money grabs. There are optional in-game ads and purchases. My favorite game.
I have been going into this game in various places in the city I live but nothing ever shows up and if it does it stays I have to be a level 3 or higher to do anything. For a new player this is discouraging because I like the concept of the game would like it more if I could actually play the game.
Practically the same mechanics as Pokemon go but with some changes. Like pillars to get items are in random places instead of designated safe areas. I'm confused about the weak vs strong creatures. Are all creatures of that type weak or just the ones I've caught? Strong creatures are hard to find without watching ads and getting extra stuff to attract and catch them. I also don't like having to sacrifice 3 creatures in attempt to give one a chance to have a very low % resistance to something.
