2018 review: I'm looking into again.. Old review: Having problems with it coming on without being asked, both when quite and when car radio is playing... No words similar to the phrase. Then not coming on when attentive is connected, and is when its not. It sets alarms okay, it opened one app when I asked a second time after I closed it. Not sure if I'll keep it yet. It calls OK and gives options for choosing number for text is I have multiple mobile numbers listed for the contact
Excellent app. Literally understands everything I say, everytime! Very few mistakes, and much more accurate and user friendly than any other voice recognition app I have used. And, I have tried at least 10 different ones, and I always keep coming back to Dragon. Nothing comes close to this app!
This app is wonderful with the exceptions that it takes a long time to teach the program what tasks I need done and it has trouble recognizing my voice with background noise, people speaking, wind blowing into open car windows and television being unmuted. Once those problems are fixed, I will give Dragon's developers a 5-star rating.
I was very excited after reading the reviews. Unfortunately this app did not perform as advertised, am very disappointed, when I asked to call a number from my contact list it brought up companies that aren't even in my area. Another frustration was duplicate numbers. Apparently there is a problem when you merge your contacts. Maybe that could corrected. The whole point of me downloading this app was so I could use my Bluetooth while driving.
Perfect so far. A much leaner alternative to Google Assistant and with the option to disable voice detection. Id consider purchasing if thats what it takes to keep development active. Only downside ive found is it doesnt work offline but thats not a big deal. Generally speaking there's little use for these offline.
All in all I have had a positive experience with this app. I wish that I would be given the option to have texts read out loud when in driving mode. Also, it gets confused when I ask it to play certain music. For instance, if I ask it to play a song called "Misery" by a band called Therapy, it plays "My Friend of Misery" by Metallica.
No support w/o paying & once it's turned on it cannot easily be turned off. Auto answering text forcefully interrupts what you are trying to do. (Text Messages are intended to be processed at your convenience, but this app crams them down your throat, had to delete app, because couldn't turn it off!)
One of the reasons I have android... Assistants... More than one in same phone I mean. Multilanguage, fast, almost perfect. Love it as you get used to. Cons: Could do more voice feedback instead of showing web results. Guess it's just considered best practice.
It is so easy to use and it is much more intuitive than Google Assistant. Whether I am searching, sending text ,emailing or completing task; Dragon hands free beats Google Assistant Hands down. It also runs circles around Google with regard speech to text accuracy.
It would be big improvements to 1. After app finds a contact to then be able to navigate to it's address using voice only. 2.have option to only make announcements with bluetooth connected. 3. To cancel navigation by voice command
Hello Dragon responds immediately & corrects its own mistakes immediately & will tell you if it doesnt know what you mean..it just doesnt automatically play YouTube yet it takes you to the page you need...it find stores & numbers better than I can....& makes phone calls hands free. Love Hello Dragon! Takes away a lot of stress..better than google that sounds & clicks annoying to me...
Not all that helpful of you don't use twitter or Facebook. Opening an app is the least of what an "assistant" needs to do. The only assistant like part of this is interaction with a calendar. I could not get it to take a memo or make a list.
Thought I would give it a try, then it started issuing a popup with every new SMS, one that interrupted my music and forced me to pick up my phone and physically dismiss it, and then manually restart my music. Outrageous! Out a here, boyoz
Seems okay so far. Tho it seems to have some trouble with asking for translations and doesn't work with Bluetooth speakers that should work with these kind of assistants. It also drains the battery like no tomorrow.
Overall fairly good IF you stick to built in activation phrase and teach it voice recognition. However, it is a HUGE drain on battery, cutting battery life between charges by 2/3rds.
App is easy to setup and interfaces with other programs well. It's not perfect, but it's the best that I've tried so far and Dragon is a reliable company in voice recognition.
Had some problems on my note 8. Kept staring and stopping and changed my bluetooth music to mono instead of stereo. Great concept just needs a little more work.
This is a great app but one major problem. When I am in my car and my phone is connected to the car via Bluetooth, the app keeps calling my cell phone. Really weird. I hang up and it immediately call itself again. Any fix for this?
one of the things that I find remarkable is that Google Assistant does not recognize things like colons semicolons quotes and Or... Very often and often puts the text in place instead of the punctuation. Dragon dictation seems to do a whole lot better
can pick up voice, decent assistant. some little changes would be nice, like functionality outside the app itself, but overall a very helpful and useful tool.
App interferes with the Bluetooth in my Pioneer car stereo. Keeps putting it into phone mode. Had to uninstall it. If they can fix this issue then they might get a better review.
Dragon is a very reliable app. It is very responsive to my voice and reacts very quickly. Dragon is one of the best personal assistants avaliable in my opinion.
While testing the app, it kept thinking I was trying to open a webpage or start something. I just wanted the program to record and print out the text, nothing more. Waste of time
It wouldn't work correctly from the start. Something could be up with my phone, but Dragon wasn't even able to detect voice commands, let alone carry them out. Don't even get me started on anything else.
Keeps calling my own number on Bluetooth when connected to my car. I ended call, and it keeps calling again and again. Uninstalled the app, and the call ended immediately.
Much harder to use on the Galaxy S9 than on the S4. This does not offer suggestions, does not delete words correctly, and starts a correction with a capital letter.
it glitches every so often and I either gotta remove voice print and do it again or Uninstaller and then reinstall. other than that problem I really like it.
Only been using a short time but love it!! Very useful esp while in a car or when I'm unable to hold phone if hands are dirty or using them for other reasons!!....my favorite app!!
It censors my words. I would love it if it wouldn't censor my texts. After using it a few times it starts to act up by not recognizing what I say or spells the the wrong words completely.
I've already rated this app as a 5 out of 5 but I've had a few more days to use the app and discover a little more about it. I'm standing with my original 5 stars but there's 2 issues i hope Dragon can resolve. 1- turning this app on and off ... you really cannot. you have to set or remove features. 2- if you're in your car you have to turn off your phone's Bluetooth connection to get everything to work correctly. there should be a way to have the app just perform the task your car won't.
