Dragon's Lair

Had this installed on a phone in 2014. Don't think there was a score or limited lives. Seemed easier then. Now sometimes the buttons don't work. Not enough time give to hit the correct button, even on easy. When there is fire in the bottom left corner of the screen it is hard to see when to press the direction button. If I quit and come back later, the lives drop from 5 to 3. Used to enjoy this, but no so much now.

So I had the problem with it not being possible to make it past the falling platform level like many others. At least on my phone I found that if you play it in Home mode,Easy setting and set the lives to 5 instead of 3, it corrects whatever bug there is and you can proceed to slay the Dragon! Hope this helps some others because Dragons Lair was a highlight of my youth and I was pretty bummed I couldn't finish the game until I figured this out.

Dragon's Lair consumed my life in the early 80s. I was utterly obsessed by it. Having a portable version on the phone is nice. This version is the same as the updated Steam one from a few years back (which wasn't great). Move timing is less accurate than the older version in my humble opinion (original was based on F2 ROMs, I think). But you know, it's Dragon's Lair. And despite some minor inaccuracies, it plays well and looks lovely. Thanks for the memories.

I'm writing down all the bugs I've encountered since downloading this game, on a falling platform level, on the home version, easy skill level, it won't accept commands. No matter what you do, it beeps as if you made the correct move but ignores your move and you continue falling. It's the level where you get 9 chances to leap on to the bridge, no matter what you do you can't pass the level, please fix this bug so I can slay the dragon. Ok, so there's a new bug, arcade version, the fire ropes room, if you die the game locks up, if you make it across, the game locks up when Dirk exits. If I can't beat the rooms, I can't make it to the dragon.

Edit: Still zero problems and still greatest $5 I ever spent. And important to know, most games on Android the controls are horrible... The controls are fine here. Everything is 100%!! I am VERY happy with this game!! Zero trouble with anything at all. The many available options were a pleasant surprise 😎. I was worried about dropping the $4.99 after reading some of the not so great reviews, but now I know it's probably the best $5 I've ever spent! Love this game!!

It's funny reading other reviews about how 'hard' this is, when we used to play it in the arcades in the 80's and pile in 20 pences (UK) into it for weeks until we completed it. Back then it took about 30 mins to complete and you'd usually have a crowd around you (if it was quiet then security would throw you out for not making them money). As a kid I always wished I could own the game so it's great to play it again. Loses a star as it crashes on me e.g. if I get hit with the anvil in the forge.

Falling platform glitch here too. Also is 2x faster than the actual original arcade version which i played today. i timed the scenes and controls and this app. Be warned this is running too fast on the easy setting for adequate control response. Also controls are unresponsive after continue which necessitate restarting. I do not recommend until bugs, glitches and speed are fixed. I am going to uninstall asmy time is spent playing directional tap than actually viewing and playing the game.

Just like the old days as a kid. Supreme looking graphics. Just a fantastic looking game. But also just like the old days, super hard, can't even look at the sweet graphics because you're too busy staring at the controls, which don't act fast enough and you die about as quick as it starts. Looks awesome. Not the funnest to play.

This game is awesome...except for the fact that during the platform jump it is stuck in an endless loop. Even when you perfectly time the jump, it crashes at the bottom. Please fix this bug so I may be able to complete the game and upgrade the rating to a five star!!!

To avoid game bugs and issues, at the start menu choose Home Mode and raise lives to 5 then play any difficulty. This will ensure the best and original arcade experience. It's like I remember playing as a kid.💯

Great port - but WAAAAY TOO FAST. Playing it on a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. Like others have said, it is something like twice as fast as the original arcade game, despite the fact that I've got it set to easy mode. Thus giving it three stars but will change to five if/when updated for better performance on current SoCs. Current version is now 4 years old, so an update for Android 11 (and beyond) is probably in order.

So when i went to play the game after it downloaded, I was really excited because my dad showed me the dvd version and i used to love so i couldnt wait to play it again and it started off great but after completing the second challenge (room with collapsing ceiling after drawbridge) it was freezing so I never got to properly experience it again which was disappointing. I am on a android as well so it might be different for apple but don't get disappointed if the same thing happens

Terrible experience the controls and timings are so quick On a mobile phones screen impossible to hit more than 20% of the time. Why did you give us a small triangle and circle to hit? You could have divided the screen in to 4 on the left hand side and just touching the right should trigger his sword. This would give you a massive margin of error. I try to play on my TV with screen share but the hit boxes are just too small. Even just using my phone its hard to see which qte to press, thumbs.

I had to get this game because of all the times I tried to play it in arcades. But like the arcade version and the app the controls are impossible to use. And it's hard to make any progress in the game.

Game freezes after geysers with pigs. Got about 20 minutes in and I cannot progress further. It was fun while it lasted, but I didn't get $5 of enjoyment out of it before it froze. I'm not going to restart and lose my progress. I'm just going to uninstall and cut my losses.

It was ok. The game is sometimes too sensitive and sometimes not sensitive enough. I quit when I got stuck in a loop on a falling platform. Graphics were great and it ran fairly smoothly.

When I open the app I get the opening screen, briefly, and then the screen goes black and stays that way. Does this sound fun ? Challenging ? Is this the next generation of gaming, staring at a blank screen until I can't take it any more ?? Waste of time and money if you purchase this game. Update : uninstalled game and then reinstalled it and now it works fine.

Impossible on Samsug S9. It loads, and I die within 4 seconds. Just flashes to the next scene before I can react to anything. I have had 5 other people who remember the game try to play it. It is as if the game is running 500 times faster than it should be.

I have always loved this game growing up in the 80s, but I got to tell ya.. In the game, the level where you're standing on the falling circular board.. That Needs to be fixed! I can't go any higher, until i pass this level. Unless of course there's a trick to it? Does anyone else have this problem? And is there a remedy to it?

Only getting the falling platform glitch sometimes. Makes me have to have the guide on, as much as I hate it. 4 stars because of that. Looking forward to an update.

I don't buy games for my tablet but I paid money for this game because I played the original in the arcade when I was a kid. I love the graphics! But this just isn't the same on a computer. It's hard to navigate. I guess you need a controller to play(?). I never made it past the 1st obstacle. I removed it from my device. I'll never buy another game.

Game "freezes" most often after completing a chapter. Tried the pause/replay button atop which repeats the chapter just completed but still freezes regardless. What can be done? Verizon ZTE BLADE

Nice trip down memory lane. I don't recall the arcade version making you play the same scenes over and over though??

I've had new cell phones throughout the years since I've bought both Space Ace & Dragon's Lair. I've downloaded both to my new phone & it says that I've never payed for either game & can't play them. Can I get some help fixing this problem?

Nothing like the original game. It doesn't give you time to choose the moves (right or wrong), you die almost instantly without even knowing what's going on. Totally disappointed, don't buy it!!!

this game was fun but whenever i beat the boat room with the boulders rapids and whirlpools the game crashes and it is impossible to continue through the game. please fix or give me a refund so i can get this on pc where it will hopefully work
