I could be harsh here, but I expected more for a ยฃ4+ app!. However all things rely on dialogue if they are to improve so here goes. Many things I like.. the random library pics, the theme of the week and in particular the axis function. However what I don't like is that the grids are not auto scaled to the size of paper or canvas you are working on. Also the images don't appear to be available outside the app and the last image you are working on is not flagged up. You have to hunt for it!
My free trial is about to expire, I don't buy apps but this is one I will. Would like more pictures for the portraits in the timed sessions as they get very repetitive and bothersome to the point that I now have names for the most often repeated pictures. Maybe we could buy extra packs to add to timed sessions? I would also like an image outlines feature to assist with interpreting an image and how to express it with line...so the reverse of the overlay feature. Great app, just want more ๐๐๐
This is a good app. I just have a small gripe. There's a weird bug. When flipping through images the previous image remains partially on the screen. This is annoying because, of course, it's covering part of your reference but it also messes up your timed practice.
It's a good app however i don't see a big need for it references are completely pointless as you can use google which has more specific and in general more references, the grids are good but you can get better apps for just grids if thats what your looking for, i do like the bluring option i hope you come up with a feature that can make the picture more or less blurry but that's just my opinion, anyway i think it has potential but as of right now it's just good not amazing.
Lots of variety of different portraits, hands, and feet, and poses. Helps with axis lines and my favorite feature is blur feature making it easier to ignore the details when doing your outline. And if you can't find a picture under the quick start you can type it in the search, or add from your own files on your phone!
Excellent app plenty of reference photos and access to search photos. Could be improved further with a few set step by step references similar to the Charles Bargue draw plates. As well as something relating to perspective drawing to help improve general skills. But an excellent app.
Alright! Better than some. What would be really nice, if I could isolate a single square from a given grid. Even better... the ability to swipe up, down, left and right to the next square. I would really like to concentrate on just that one square, then move (draw) in the direction I'm headed by swiping to the next single isolated square. Add that and I'll be a fan forever. No a super-fan... I'll probably just give you a blank cheque ๐ ๐ฝ๐
This app is really nice. It lets you compare your drawing with the original. It has many options like greyscale and blur and grid option. It also lets you search with filters and that is amazingggggg..... But like a LOT of features are only available in the pro version and that's a bummer
Fantastic! Who needs Sktchy? After waiting (and waiting....and waiting....) for Sktchy to come out with an Android version, I found Drawing References. This is a great app, tons of reference photos, portraits, poses, young, old, etc. Also has a neat timed practice feature to hone quick sketching skills. Couldn't be more pleased with this app.
Of all the apps I've tried this is the best. Great functions with numerous different things to draw, as we as great anatomy. A favourite is ability to use my own pics as well.
I have noticed one major bug while drawing. When we leave the app for some time or clear the ram the grids are changing respective to the image that we have selected. This makes lot of changes to the sketches if you don't notice. Iam requesting you to fix this Bug as soon as possible otherwise its very good for beginners, easy fo use and flexible.
So far the best app I've found for what I need, so happy that the grid stays as squares and doesn't just turn into rectangles like all the others and think the option to overlay your drawing to the reference is an amazing feature, I struggle getting the base lines down without over thinking it so to be able to do a quick check helps so much.
Useful for practice with high quality images. Grid and flip feature are great. I suggest adding a greyscale feature. Edit: Yay, got a greyscale feature! And recent photos I use show up now as well. Can also search for what subject you want. Love this app and the support.
I like it, the only problem I have with it, is when I add a photo from my gallert on my phone, it moves in the grid when I turn the app off. This is extremely frustrating. I ruined many hrs of draw time to try to fix proportions that were comprimised due to the photo skipping squares in the grid.
just installed and browsed through some poses. checked out the how to draw simple easy explainations. if your serious about portaits which are amazingly diffcult. this is an excellent resource to take advantage of even if you use it once you'll be impressed with how well you drew.
Yes! Its a very nice and useful aop who have their interest in drawing , sketching and painting. Its also gives you basic idea for drawing likeness of a photographs and enhancement. Hoping for so more features to be added to improve one's drawing skill. Thak you so much the developers ๐
I personally find it easier if you can also spin your picture whilst zooming it in? also to make it so you can change it to grey scale, it makes it easier for when you are drawing with just graphite and/or charcoal.
I love the timed quick sketches option... I wanted to start doing just that to improve my skills....and this has it! Toggles randomly to pictures on app or your own! Make a game of your art and have fun while learning!!! Uhh...y'all need to pay me for my comment! Lol!
I just don't have any words to describe this app because it's the app for what I was looking for because I had to find for a clear reference photo which will look good if sketch it but it took me hours and hours to find a perfect picture for me but after I downloaded it I got each and every picture best suited for my painting hobby and in my practice like to draw a feet or hand its just damn awesome. Each pictures and portrait are one those i was looking through thanks to the developers love u๐
Well to be honest, this app is good if you upgraded. It may not have a ton lot of references but it's definitely not bad for beginners:) But if you want more variety of references I recommend you use Pinterest it has almost every pic to exist! Overall I like this app<3
I really like this app. it is very much useful to me. the two suggestionsI would like to give are: 1. We could be allowed to increase the number of grids on the image. 2. the logo of the app could be changed.
I had used somany other grid apps. the problem with those apps while making grid , the quality of gridline is varies with resp. to the reference picture. In this app Im completely satisfied with grid. Beacause the grid line quality remain same whatever the reference picture quality. I highly recommend this app for all artist who need grid to draw.. because this app will give it u in a perfect way...
This app is really useful to me especially since i cant do poses really well. Seeing all the poses (even when i dont draw some of them) also helps me understand how some parts of the body works. I hope this app can keep up the good work d=(ยดโฝ๏ฝ)=b
Exceptional drawing REFERENCE app there is available without the need for subscription! Have been using for a month a now and my drawing has improved drastically. I'm about to pay the small one time fee for the premium subscription
A really awesome app! I use it on the daily. It is dedicated to helping me with my art practice and solves a lot of problems. For example, an easily searchable, high quality reference material section. A adjustable timed practice section with adjustable grids. A favorites section for selected images. And a low price. I am a busy mom...and I just love how this app is helping me to improve my artwork.
