Fun app to use! No lag, great sounding patches (later I bought all of them on sale), thoughtfully designed, simple screens to navigate, easy to use from the beginning, and an impressive array of tweakable parameters. After using this app for a few months, it has become so addictive I had to buy a real midi controller (Akai MPK Mini III), which connected to this app with zero effort. I am thinking about getting the PC version now. The software engineers who made this are top notch. Thank you and please keep it alive!
This is the greatest Android synth of all time. Im not kidding. I've searched for years for any half way good music app on android and finally all these years, this shows up. It's worth every penny. I love the chord layout screen, it's very touch intuitive, the slides are so fun, and theres so many presets, and all are customizable, this is a legitamate synth. Other android devs could learn a thing or two from these guys, seriously. Just try it and see what I mean
Really love it. Sounds really good and is easy to use after the initial learning curve. Especially when paired with good headphones or an aux to my home amplifier the sounds are amazing. This app cured my music gear acquisition syndrom and inspired quite some songs. The only wish is perhaps a (chord) sequencer - but the app is already super musical without!
A great synthesizer app with a wide range of features and customizable functions. Well worth the price in my opinion, especially for not just the sound quality but what I really like the most is how responsive it is to touch. As I'm sure you all who have tried a good number of other apps similar to this one probably understand, that if there's one thing an app like this can and will easily be ruined by is slow, latency filled and choppy response when used. Haven't had that problem so far!!! ππ
The best synthesizer on Android. Thanks! I have a few wishes, maybe you pay attention to them. First, it would be nice to make an additional bank with all the presets. Now, when I select a filter, for example, "Bass", I have to additionally move between the banks on the left. This is not always convenient if you need to select a preset. The second is to focus on a parameter that changes from the controller. For example, I am on a tab with an Arpeggiator, but I twist the mixer knob using the controller. At this moment, I do not see the change, since nothing changes on the screen. Automatic transition to the tab would make parameter control much more convenient. Third, this is the default application selection when a keyboard or controller is connected. When connecting to the MIDI device, a window pops up to select the application. Now I have installed BASSLINE and Synth FM and their icons pop up when connected. I would choose your synthesizer by default and it would start automatically (since your application is the best :)) And fourth - lacks the ability to assign the controller knob to choose from preset. Anyway, thank you! It would be great if you could pay attention to it.
I haven't shelled out the $18 yet, but I'm definitely going to. I use some fairly complicated Audio-Visual software but none have a simple, clean interface, ease of use or the elegant & purposeful interface this fantastic 'little' App does. It makes Synthesizing fun again! I will revise after my purchase - looking forward to losing a few hours on it. My only caveat at this time is the size of the touch controls on a medium size phone; but I don't think there's much can be done about it.
This is a great sounding, very capable synth. A great value with loads of quality presets even in the base version. My biggest complaints are a lack of proper UI scaling for phones and no sequencer function. In the chord selection, the tableau of buttons are larger than the visible area and can't be accessed at all. There's also no way to record audio to your device, but that's an Android problem, not Imaginando's.
Pretty cool from what I've played around with so far in the app, but is there an easier way to save the project I'm working on? Like if the tools menu had a save icon that opened up a "Choice box" (i.e. save, save as, export, etc.) I've had my fair share of time on, and getting lost in making beats or scores, but I would suggest simplifying the navigation process; just a hair, for people that may not be too familiar with mixer apps.
It's a great app, except it keeps crashing. There's also a staticy feedback when I use it. I found a way to restore purchases (I asked about that in my last review, but play store won't let me delete it for whatever reason.) My phone model is a OnePlus 6T, and I'd love to be able to use DRC properly again like I did on my old phone. I'd also like to add that it works fine on my ipad 6. Thanks, I appreciate any help I can get!
This app is clearly going in the right direction. It's ui is simplistic and easy to understand. The keyboard could be simplified into 4 button's and a tab to choose which note's are to be presented and a midi player addon would be nice. Constant crashes are annoying but worth knowing a app with great potential is behind it. This app has a chance to be phenomenal in people's eye's. Great job from the developers.
Great synth but flawed aftertouch. The feature is not explained in the manual (skipped over in fact). Even with all aftertouch settings at minimum, enabling aftertouch in the instrument (Electronic Valve Instrument) adds an odd pitchbend (up) to the very start of each note, just for an instant, regardless of any synth patch setting so notes do not sound correctly. Wanted to buy but have not been able to get past this issue. Appreciate the rest of the synth though.
Reviewed this from my other phone by mistake, but no changes. App is great. I would pay for it IF it worked with a midi controller, but sadly it doesn't. The app freezes when connected, and once I disconnect, all the button presses get triggered. Tested on Samsung S6 and Huawei P10. 2 stars only because of the interface and sounds. Can't test latency.
It's pretty damn good. It has some really nice features and effects thst you can use. I wish 2 things could happen though. One, NO MORE ADS! I'm so sick of the app reminding me to purchase it AND wait 10 SECONDS! During those 10 SECONDS, I would just close it and reopen it. Now 2, a waveform creator. I wish you could be able to create your own waveform for different results. Overall this app is π π. Hopefully they can do custom waveforms and GET RID OF THOSE DUMB REMINDER ADS!!! 4.5/5 Stars
Very Good synth, I'm still exploring and cutting my teeth with this app. I'm very excited at the sound synthesis possibilities with it. I'm going to use it with my midi controller and live input the audio into my DAW on my iMac. This is a very very special app and looks to me that a few of these on a suitable android device would give the Krg Volcas a run for their money well done.
Fantastic!! Easy to use, controls are straightforward. Great introduction to synthesis too as it's easy to ignore filters, etc. to start. STRONGLY RECOMMEND PLUGGING IN A MIDI CONTROLLER!! Works INSTANTLY, just plug in your little 25-key controller like the novation launchkey mini, akai mpk mini, whatever by using a USB-C to A dongle, and plugging the controller into the other end. Makes it soooo much easier to play and mess around with sounds. Great app, happy to pay $14 for this little beast.
Fantastic sound quality with extremely high levels of control. Honestly one of the best free apps ever, especially in the music department. Stable build, little or no adds, and great sound..... what's not to love? I've been doing sound production for over 20 years and this app immediately became a staple instrument for me!
Love this! Upgrade not a regrettable purchase at all, infact I've used this so much more than I expected to. Exp musician, breaking into new mediums and apps like this save me so much money. Requests: - Gimme a multi-loop system, let me layer some of these sounds! (Check out 'Loopify' in Google play store) - microphone input? and FX overlay? so I can get some lyrics on this bad boy, I want a Peter Frampton talk-box... with sequencer! - Give me some kind of rhythm? Drum pad? Sequencer? Anything.
Lovely synth, with one terrible flaw: lack of takeover (like Ableton's pickup or value scaling mode). This synth is all about tweaking knobs and faders. There are 50+ of them, so even if your midi contoller has 16 you'll need 3-4 assignment sets. Since there is no smooth takeover, you have to deal with abrupt glitches and parameter re-discovery all the time, which is maddening. And a UI tip: waveform could be direct click instead of scroll menu, at least on tablets.
I didn't expect the capability of this synth. Picked this one just to test Sensel Morph through OTG-cable, and decided to leave it as my gig-setup synth. It natively supports MPE, and all XYZ movement of a fingers is easily can be configured as modulation sources. In spite of an "east coast" nature of the synth I still can tweak some of the "western" madness with a "osc sync" button. Simple, but very, very capable synth.
This is a great synth. I use it even for busking situations linking the midi keyboard to the cell and then to the p.a. speakers. It is also a great kill time for musicians who travel a lot. Headphones, mini keyboard and this app and you will be in your musical world. I also love the fact that music can be played in the background, so i can find the right chords before any performance. One thing to fix: I can't add some presets to favourites, and this slows me when performing
I was playing around with this app with a keyboard plug in and was really enjoying making noise when suddenly all noise stopped and it stopped reading keyboard keys. A few seconds later the app completely froze and when I tried reopening it it was permanently a black screen and can't use it anymore.
Amazing synth. It has a problem when switching output devices, it will not output sound anymore. It requires a restart. Hopefully this will be fixed in the future.
I'm very close to buying this synth, it's one of the goats. But there is no record output feature, which for people like me who want to produce on Android, doesn't really make sense. There's also a project called Audioroute that is a plugin routing app for Android, you could add support and up the level of this app even further
The only good synthesizer app which I can connect with my Yamaha keyboard. There is a bug where if you have keyboard connected with USB, and if you connect a Bluetooth speaker, then sound does not work.
After the first start on sams9 the app deadly stopped, producing high pitch annoying sounds. For 3+ hours ANY USE of the phone was impossible, no restart with power button, no power off, no possibility to turn down sounds, no reaction to touch, gestures, buttons (and I mean physically pushing buttons didn't work either). Deleted the app immediately. GUYS, it did not help. I've taken out my sim card and pushed every thing that is pushable. How it is even possible to get s9 in such a deadlock?
It's a pretty good little synthesizer, except one thing... IT ISNT FREE!!! After a few minutes, the app kicks you off, or makes you wait 10 seconds as a penalty before resuming. The developer needs to change the description
There are a lot of "synthesizers" floating around the play store, but most are little more than cheap noisemakers. DRC is not one of them. There are tons of parameters to tweak, presets to toy with and options to explore. The sound quality is excellent and surprisingly, so is the price. And don't worry if you're new to sound design. With its easy, user-friendly interface, DRC is definitely a great place to wet your beak. Thanks for caring enough to do it right. 5/5
