Great idea on paper, but I doubt it works. When I watch YouTube, my phone is hotter than a night of "computing" with this app, so I doubt it actually does anything, which brings to to the conclusion that because you don't make an empty app, I'm afraid this one does shady stuff. But if could very much ask for very little computing power, which doesn't make any sense because if it's running while I sleep, it's not for a light workload.

Nice concept but this app will kill your battery. I started using this app some time ago, thinking it would help a great cause. At first the app worked ok but after some time it didn't work anymore. I forgot about the app for a few months and then started using the app again. Been using this since it launched, its had some issues in the past, but now it looks abandoned. Only 2 projects and after 8 hours not one calculation apparently made. Something seriously wrong with app. A shame as it was easy to use and helping a really good cause!

Such a great concept and so easy. Just install and every time you charge your device you are helping to provide super power to crunch medical problems and solve them! I allocate a small amount of data per month and it all helps.

A great way to donate to important scientific research without costing you extra money. Looked like it has stopped running some projects part way through. Reloading the app has not fixed the problem.

Stopped working. It's been showing zero calculations for months now. good idea but buggy software. Edit.. Sent three feedback emails. Never heard anything back from them so it's been uninstalled.

Last update breaks the app. As others have noted it records the time on charger but reports zero calculations performed. This is regardless of which project you support. Devs please fix! Update, covid project works but cell identity hunter still broken. They sent out a call to support cell identity hunter but we can't get the app to crunch calcs! Covid project needs more recruits, seriously long time to complete.

App has been breaking more and more often as of late. To the point it is now rarely in working order. Management of the Program needs to change or be handed to someone else, less this app turn into abandon ware.

Like others have posted. App no longer works. Available projects have dwindled (currently only two left) and they have calculated very few numbers in weeks. Uninstalling. No point in wasting my power to see no calculations in 7 hours.

An easy way to contribute towards research for life threatening disease, but I have found that sometimes there are no calculations despite the app running all night (or day). Changing to another project effects a resumption, and I've noticed one project in particular has a habit of stopping at weekends! Latest version is kinder to my phone as it doesn't get ridiculously hot any more, but MTBF has to be considered in a premium product if it does. Here's hoping, I'm happy to contribute this way.

Something went wrong with the most recent update. My phone spent 10 hours on charger — zero calculations completed. Previously, it was about one to two calculations per hour. Clearing app's data didn't help.

For those wondering about 0 calculations, it usually means after more than an hour that DreamLab is currently out of tasks to send. The app has become so popular this isn't a shock. Still not working on macOS Catalina MacBooks though.

I'm uninstalling it since progress stalled. Broken & abandoned app. Many contacted the researchers, developers, & hosts but issues persist.

Although clock ticks along, it doesnt complete many calculations anymore, appears to be server sided, no tasks available, not an app problem, Poco F3 Android 12.

Everytime I plug my phone in the app has automatically changed my selected project to the Corona one. Seems pretty shady to me as that isn't what I select

Great App providing it serves its purpose. My S9 Samsung over heats a lot and spends more time cooling down than actually being productive. Many zero nights or phone also switches off altogether. Very frustrating, have rebooted in the past and lost all records.

Good app when it works but frustrating that at times, it will run without completing any calculations. One of the projects seems to have completely stopped in the last few weeks,!

I love the idea of this app, I have Folding @ Home running on my server and PCs etc so having my phone run some calculations seemed like the logical next step. The issue is the lack of configuration of things such as when sessions start. It waits for your phone to be on charge and at 100%, but my Pixel 4a slowly charges at night to reach 100% by morning, meaning DreamLab sessions usually start an hour before I wake up, and there is no way to change this.

This app doesn't work properly, it doesn't seem to matter how long I leave my phone plugged in and connected to WiFi, it doesn't perform any calculations at all.. It only seems to work on mobile data. Any ideas?

1 star for attention, not quality. Cell Identity Hunter Project hasn't completed calculations in weeks, Corona AI hasn't added a calculation in more than 24 hours Fix it.

Did work but no longer does. No longer auto starts when device is charging and no longer does any calculations regardless of project being powered and device being used. Shame.

The app sits in the background and you don't notice it until you charge your phone. Then it pops up among the notifications. You can see how many calculations you have completed and how your chosen project is progressing. You can see how well all the projects are supported and choose whichever project you want to support. The app can be set to communicate with the server only when Wi-Fi is available so it doesn't use any data allowance. As it only runs when charging it never drains the battery.

It is an interesting project. One improvement suggestion: more settings, specifically to be able to set times when it's allowed to run (e.g. overnight only). It is good that it only runs when plugged in (though that could also be a setting), but when it runs it does take quite a bit of processing power, and the phone runs warm - I would like it to only turn on when I'm genuinely not using the phone.

Love the premise of the app. Have noticed it often doesn't wait until 80% before powering the project, and other times it doesn't open at all when charger is plugged in. Some times I'll set it to go when i go to bed, and I'll wake up and the icon won't be in the notification bar at all, and the app will have shut itself off part way through the night. None of these times have I been over my data, as I checked.

So glad I found this! Feels great to contribute my otherwise wasted processing power to projects that may help make the world a better place. Have some suggestions but no complaints: 1. It feels like the app stops doing work immediately when charging status changes. I'd like it to at least finish the calculation it was on at the time up to a budget of 2% of battery or something. 2. Option to allow greater performance usage in order to do more work if possible! Thanks!
