Overall it is a good app, it works as it is supposed to while I am driving. However, I normally keep my phone on vibrate all the time and since I've downloaded this app, my ringer keeps turning back onto volume. Additionally, I usually have bluetooth on (because of headphones)-- but since I've downloaded this app, it keeps turning bluetooth off. I'm not sure what exactly is going on with this. Edit: thank you for the tip about bluetooth-- I assume the ringer thing is probably unrelated?
Andrew's app has been so wonderful! I have tried a few other free safe driving apps, and they were so bogged down with advertising apps, they prompted some distracted driving! I love how this turns on automatically when driving, and that the sensitivity of that feature is adjustable! It silences my phone to prevent distracted driving. I love that the auto-text feature is customizable! Told my closest friends of this app! 1 minor issue: it doesn't always turn off once my drive is over. Def 5* !!
Iv had this app abt 4 days & it seems 2b a great app. It turns on automatically when I start my car, and doesnt allowcalls to come thru while driving. My only concern is that it doesnt turn off after driving. The app shows "off" but my calls arent coming thru and the auto message is still replying to callers. Iv missed a call during this text and i am not even mobile, but home lying down.
Generally works ok with ominous silence. An output log of events and missed contacts would be useful. Stays on after exiting the car as I don't have bluetooth, doesn't stop whatsapp as far as I can see in settings. No warning when app is on to tell user not to use whilst driving if they start making a call . No output log or report to manager to give feedback if app is not used whilst driving
On auto all the time - so need to think about it each time I jump in the car. Would highly recommend. Some car message services like mine may pick up and be able to read incoming phone messages - but I don't mind this as it makes me aware of incoming messages and know anyone will get my 'drive safe' response.
A friend of mine was recently hit by someone texting while driving and was seriously injured. It made me realize the importance of an app like this. Drive Safe works as advertised. The auto-on feature works great and it's super light weight on the phone resources. Also, please consider supporting this man with a token of appreciation. This app is one worth paying for!
Works well to avoid distractions on the road. Only thing is I wish it would automatically start while I start driving instead of me having to turn it on. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong but overall great feature on my phone!
I like it but, the text message notification doesn't seem to be working when someone text/calls my phone when I'm unable to answer.(That's why I rated it with 4 stars) Can someone check into it? But, other than that I like it. I drive a school bus and my phone didn't have this feature so, I'm loving this app! Thanks...
Does not work on my phone. Free advice. I have tried most of these things and they are unreliable. Best to turn phone off, or turn volume off, or use do not disturb mode. Don't waste energy on apps.
Works great. I turned on the auto feature by sending an email to two friend. The message was simply I'm using Drive.Safe, check it out, with a link to the site. Have been using a few days and it works as advertised.
Main reason for trying this app was for its auto-text feature when driving. It failed to do this. I even tried manually enabling "Do Not Disturb" thinking that I needed to turn this on for the auto-text message to work, but it did not.
Seems to do a good job. The 1 change i would like to see is allow us to select a speed where it turns on. It sometimes clicks on while sitting in the living room.
Absolutely useless. This had good reviews and it does send a text when activated but it still allows the texts to come through and pop up on your screen. Seeing them is when I want to respond! Deleted!
I am not sure what to expect. I put it on my phone and when I am driving, it doesn't turn on automatically. However, I just rolled in my office chair from one side of the room to the other, and it turned on. Earlier this morning, I had to run out to our warehouse and it turned on. I just don't understand why this is happening. I have a Galaxy S20 Ultra phone. Edit: I am now going to uninstall this app. In the last 15 minutes, my phone was sitting still on my desk and it activated 3 times.
Love how it turns off sound so i never get tempted to look at phone. The safety ring 3 times in succession and it turns back on is a bonus, as i have grandkids that need to ring me in emergencies sometimes.
Great idea but keeps enabling itself at inopportune moments despite disabling the auto start feature. Bit ridiculous to see it enable itself while browsing Facebook sat in your living room.
This app is very simplistic versus the competition. Only reason I uninstalled another to try this one was the promise of autodetection of trips, which apparently is currentlt just a loop of spam for your contacts
Worked beautifully the 1st day. Has not worked since. It comes on when driving and turns off when stopped. The usual text messages and calls come right thru! Looking for another "working" app. Was going to donate, but why donate for a non-working app?
Works as it should. Connects with bluetooth, comes onwhen it should. And off when car stops for more than a stop sign. Everyone should have this and mandotary.
it appears that you cannot receive bluetooth calls while driving if the app is on , unless I have it set up wrong. auto text reply is good
Good idea but app keeps disabling Bluetooth on my phone (one plus5) so even when active, if someone rings through it is actually unsafe to answer as it doesn't go through to the car controls
Won't unlock the auto start feature no matter how many times I invite two friends. Pretty disappointing if that feature doesn't work.
It's a very good idea, but it doesn't send the auto texts and that's why I downloaded the app in the first place. Still really like the concept of the app and I'm glad it exists.
So this activated and I wasn't even driving, or moving for that matter. I miss a text message because of this. I like the concept, but this needs to be addressed and fixed.
Easy too use. Sadly, automatic text replies doesn't work all the time. PS. The developer read my comment and working to correct the issue - Yay!
I like the app. It serves my purpose. the down side is that it does not shut off automatically. I have to remember to shut it off when I get to my destination and then turn it on when I start driving again.
Worthless. Doesn't de-activate when you park the car, and will randomly activate when you are walking. Uninstalled it after one day.
Was excellent but not reliable any more. Turns on and off multiple times while I'm driving making its own distracting noise each time and with no option to adjust sensitivity anymore it comes on in elevators, when I'm walking, when I'm skating. It also doesn't often switch itself off anymore. This was an excellent app before but now I think I will have to uninstall due to the unreliability of the current version.
