There purpose is to collect data. This app is definitely not data worthy. Major Bluetooth issues. If multiple phones in car, it says distracted driver when the passenger is the one using the phone. Trip logs are not in the moment. What if it was an emergency and aliens abducted me, trip shows 1-2 hrs after the trip. Only plus I save over $150 a month compared to other Insurance co. And I do have the option to turn off to avoid the unnecessary notifications. Not a good app or accurate data.
Very easy to use, good discount! It's disappointing to see that it seems this app can't sense to report acuratelly when phone is used while the car is completely stop eather, before the trip starts, at a long wait red traffic light or when I stop on the side of the road or at a parking lot to check the maps app for directions, make a phone call, send or read a message. There are a lot of people coming behind that get really mad, because I'm tryin to keep posted speed as close as possible.
too many technical issues on their side. inconsistent tech support and training issues. their staff? different answer every time. in a month it's gone down three or four times. need to call to get some fix. getting to a point where it takes too much time to be sure it's even working. otherwise, the program discount was slashed by 2/3 when I removed a second vehicle from my policy. just a major headache all around.
Drive the other way. Worst app ever. First I installed 3 units for my wife, daughter, and myself. Nothing but problems. It was suppose to be easy to install and I had plenty of problems with each install. Huge battery drain that you can't control. My phone never used to be out in a day, now by early evening I need to recharge. If my wife uses her phone in my car, it will ding me for phone usage. It doesn't seem at all accurate. Whatever we're saving is no where near the frustration. Read the reviews, I would say the average review is less than 2, and I don't see how it's that high. It's also a huge data user. I only have 1 gig of data and it used over 200 meg. I ran out of data. Totally useless.
The app doesn't take into account when you have a driver & a passenger in your car who are part of the same family. It doesn't let you tell it who is the driver, so you ultimately have to do a janky work around by turning off Bluetooth until the drive is automatically detected and then have your passenger turn on Bluetooth. Otherwise, it will default to whoever was last connected to the device and ding you for phone distractions if it connects to the passenger. This is super irritating.
Inaccurate readings. I can be all clear and not much breaking and still register hard breaking or turn smoothly after a full stop and have something register as a fast cornering event. It's just not accurate and I consider if the discount is worth it when the sensing just isn't accurate at all. EDIT: Now it records the trip when I'm just walking around the house with my phone. 🤣
A driving app that encourages better driving, but its accuracy in braking and acceleration can be questionable at times. I noticed the app saying I was braking at the same spot almost every day, which is a dip in the road in my driveway where road runoff goes through. The force of the car going down must be strong enough to record a braking incident. My trip history doesn't show many braking incidents, so this definitely is concerning. I'm also bothered by how much one incident drops % quickly.
I keep getting 'sudden acceleration' and 'breaking', I'm in a mtn region and there's not long range visibility, which if you don't want to get rear ended then when you pull into the highway, you better get up the road. Wildlife and farmers on equipment, I suppose instead of breaking SF would prefer I hit them and have a claim for body damage...... this app isn't worth the time!!!!!
App won't function when power saver mode active. I already spoke to tech services about this. I recommend developers change this, as this program depends on the client's phone. If my phone allows me the ability to set up permissions for which apps can ignore power savings mode, developers can't place the burden on the client for this working properly
I really like that this app is easy to use. Also it's convenient that it gives you a notification when you need to update your odometer reading. LOVE the discount! It's nice that the Bluetooth transmitter is fairly simple in it's operational abilities. If I ever have ?'s about how it's working for my driving, I'm glad I can call and speak to an actual person 24/7. And they have always been helpful, kind and knowledgeable. Wish the app would consider the type and size of vehicle. All R different.
Keeps you mindful of what you already know. Not impressed that if you are not the driver and your the passenger it dings you for being on the phone. You must remember to turn the bluetooth off especially if the passenger using GPS on cell phone to navigate for directions. App also has major issues loading trips. Love the savings just not the way the app is slow or doesn't respond.
It's insane. You live in a place with lots of turns and slow to a crawl to take them even with angry drivers behind you? You're still cornering. A red light changes, deer jump out, you even just slightly slow down a tad quick on the hills or before a turn? Hard breaking. The speed limit is posted wrong or you have to speed up to enter the highway? You're speeding. You use GPS? You're playing on your phone. It not only requires perfect driving but it requires life to be perfect without issues
Horrible app. You can't hit brakes hard for any reasons. I guess you're expected to hit others and run red lights. The phone distraction is the biggest problem for me. My phone is Bluetooth to my car so I rarely have to touch my phone. But just because I answer a call or my phone fall to the floor I get a event. So not accurate. It also freezes up and ask me to login. After trying about five times I just give up.
Talk about a halfway useless ap. I have changed the notification settings and verified all notifications were turned off WELL every 10 minutes my phone goes off with a notification to turn on my Bluetooth and that my trips aren't being recorded... my trips aren't being recorded BECAUSE I HAVENT DRIVEN IN DAYS. If my phone could stop going off that would be great. Oh yeah nevermind of you pick up your phone to see exactly where you have to turn - its a point against your trip. 0/10. Uninstalling
In hybrid cars this alleged device is almost useless. You sleep. It appears that every time you're at a stopwatch and move forward a treats it like rapid acceleration elevation. Make a left turn that is actually sharp by design you get sharp left turn. Every time you touch your brake it picks it up up so something is wrong with this device to give you a valid credit which is really a bogus wave giving a discount.
The app is too sensitive for someone living in the mountains. Every time I leave home it dings me for hard braking at the bottom of a hill - it doesn't matter how slow I'm going, the car will always rock forward just because of the slope. Ditto for cornering - it complains about some mountain roads even when I drive under the speed limit. I'll keep using it for now and see if the discount makes it worthwhile!
The program has some street speed limits at the wrong speeds. I got tagged in a 40 mph area for speeding, when I was doing 45mph. But they do allow you to send in a correction. Not sure how long it takes for them to correct it, but they are open for corrections! This app has saved me a little on my SUV's mpg. It's not a bad thing especially if you can save 30 to 50% on your insurance.
Very sensitive to cornering and braking. Even when I take that turn from a complete stop, it says I'm cornering. When I'm in traffic and then stop at a stop sign or stoplight, I'm braking too hard. It just doesn't make sense. It's difficult to raise your score, but lowering it is a breeze. At least there an automatic discount for having it.
