DroidEdit Pro (code editor)

I started out using the free version and quickly converted to paid, have been using it since my first Android device. It's my go-to interface for entering larger passages of text, even if I end up moving it to some other app. The only small request I'd make would be to add a bottom border to the main window, any time there's text on the full screen the char/word/line count covers some of the content.

Very useful and easy to work with. I did not like the lack of notice given regarding the design change made in the Pro version and I don't like the changes that were made. I want file type back in a settings preference and the choice to leave it there or add the external menu. Now I have to choose file type everytime I open a file (all UTF-8). I got used to a certain UI and the Pro version is different and not as intuitively handy for me.

Really love the app it's very helpful when it comes to editing code there's been many times when I came up with an idea and couldn't do any thing without my computer and it even helps with editing things for the phone, for example mods for apps that support, usely you would have to download on your phone or just transfer a file from you computer just to edit the code in a file but this is a lot of help. My only problem is that when im editing a file with a lot of code it won't work.

Good! I like that I can use with DropBox, there's no Ads, it has decent search, and it makes lines of code easier to read through color coding. I don't like that it cannot write to the external micro SD card. I thought it could do that; it's annoying and I would rate 5 stars if it did.

The new file drawer is the absolute worst!! All it does is close the app. I absolutely loved the free version, but i never update my apps because of stuff like this. I finally decide to buy it, to support development. and i get an app that i CAN'T use. PLEASE give me an option to leave it open or something. UPDATE: so it turns out it is the way i hold the tablet. The 'app' and 'back' buttons are on the left side. So when i swipe from the left it activates one of the 2 hardware buttons.

Broken. Abandoned. No scrollbars, so scrolling down a large file is painful. Then switching to landscape moves your cursor back to the first line again! WHY?! Jesus thats frustrating!! Plus, it mangles text, sometimes adding a copy of the last few dozen lines again at the bottom!! Took forever to denig that. This app has been abandoned, but the author still takes money for his broken product. Paid, but uninstalled.

App not updated in 5 years? Doesn't work with Dropbox. App keeps telling me it was built for an older version of Android and that I should check for an update - there isn't one.

Great Mobile IDE with Git integration. However, does NOT have syntax highlighting for shell scripts. If it just had that, and also preferably bracket matching as well, I would give it 5 stars. But as it stands, it's great for small programs or making changes in small areas that are uncluttered.

Excellent program, I use it constantly for working out software ideas and taking notes. Well worth the purchase price. I would like colorization of words (highlighting) and bold or italic text, if possible. Good job!

Excellent editor for text, code, whatever. I started off using the free version for many months and now I have transitioned to the paid version. Well done DroidEdit, I look forward to even more features and improvements.

I want to like this editor. It's the only Android editor I've found that I like the way it selects text, and I love the customisable syntax coloring. I'd give it give it more stars if: a) it could access the USB card on my Chromebook. b) if the sl4a external command thing worked. I program in Python and have sl4a installed on both tablet and Chromebook, but Droidedit can't see it on either.

Good app for code editing but navigation between files is painful. It's a start but needs more work and better accessibility. A lot of work to be done to improve. Would recommend the devs look at Textastic (iOS App) and take inspiration off them. Uninstalled and refunded at this time.

I love this app, it reminds me of Sublime Text, The only issue that I am having right now is that I dont know how to make the view in browser operate, I have the ftp testing properly, just dont get any replies back from the developer for how to do that, or if there is a bug. Not sure. I will give it 5 stars if they or someone helps me with that, nothing online about this particular issue, trying this for 3 weeks now. Sent developer 3 emails no response and I paid for this app a long time ago.

Been using this for years, and suddenly my fave feature - ★ Keep opened files and changes between sessions - has disappeared? I loved not having to open the files i was working on each time i opened Droidedit. :(

This editor was last updated in 2017 and it won't load whole files - just the first 60-70 lines. This was my favorite editor but it just doesn't work anymore. I'd give 5 stars if it worked but I can't even use it anymore.

Really great set of features for the price. I love the extended keyboard for quick access to brackets and parens when coding. A great companion to PocketGit for development on the go.

This was a very useful app for me. Even after uninstalling and re-installing, I am no longer able to connect to any remote servers. This is now useless for me. Please fix, and I'll gladly change back to 5 stars.

Another abandoned product. I would have given this 4 stars at one time but it hasn't been updated in quite a while and no longer works properly. It still takes your money though, and demands access to your contacts. Avoid this app!

It used to work great then it started truncating all the files I open. Now it is completely useless and not worth buying. Used to be a 5 star app. It won't connect SFTP anymore either. No error message details and google doesn't know anything about it either.

Abandoned by the look of it. Multiple issues. Used to be so useful though. save works but ui is broken, run script doesn't work. Not updated in nearly 2 years.

This app seems to be abandoned. I emailed the creator requesting MATLAB syntax highlighting or loading custom syntax highlighting files and got no response. If I knew in 2017 that the developer was going to quit I wouldn't have bought this app.

Really good. I like the themes and a nice editor for pgn files with multiple entries. I also like how you can keep the free version as well after you have purchased the Pro.

Not updated anymore! I really like this app, but I wish it was updated to support more modern languages with improved syntax, and to allow for changing to custom fonts.

Paid abandonware not updated since 2017. Simple features may work, but your mileage will vary. There's other fish in the sea. Don't bother with this one.

I really like the app and I'm using it since almost a decade but recently I tried connecting to github and it didn't work because the app uses an older protocol version of rsa/openssh

Used this for two years. Tried others occasionally. I like the way it works. UI tweaks may take a minute initially but it's worth the time.
