Drone Pilot Canada

This App is too good to be missed by Canadian Drone Pilot. I don't write review. But I can't help it on this one. 1st, this is Canadian made for Canadian users. 2nd, this app covers a lot. Constantly surprised me. It even submit authorization request to Nav Canada for me and it made so easy. 3rd, lots of checklists and I can custom to my fit. 4th, constantly updates, something I am not sure, I just watch Don on YouTube. Team Don Drones On, WELL DONE. I am proud to be a Canadian. 👍👍👍👍👍👍😍

This is a update from my other review. All the improvements are great. Still needed is being able to sync from two different android devices. I started out with my phone and now use a tablet so its a pain in the butt moving things over. Also I did a manual flight entry. Once done I was not able to edit it. Is this normal or something that can be fixed?

I was skeptical at first thinking the NRC drone selection tool was good enough. However, I was near a no fly zone and couldn't figure out if I was in it or not using the nrc tool alone. Not only did this app save the day but it provides information in a clear and concise manner about the various zone types. Very happy with this app. I highly recommend it.

This app covers the records keeping requirements of drone pilots for Transport Canada. Although relatively expensive, it is professionally done and comprehensive. The various text items are editable if desired. However, the importation of drone and pilot pdf certificates does not work and, as another reviewer noted, there is no way to sync with other devices. Check out the 3 YouTube videos for this app before buying.

Amazing app! Don really has put a lot of thought and effort into this app. I love the built in map showing all aerodrones and no fly areas. So easy to click on it for contact details in event of an emergency. Also love tge checklists created and links to the important information website.

This app is essential to a drone pilot in Canada. Well worth the expense. All your checklists are there, all your procedures are there, live zone info, aerodrome contact info, NOTAMs... everything! I'd give it six stars out of five, if I could! The app even holds your pilot certification info, drone registration, and manuals. If you DO get checked out by the authorities, all the i's are dotted and the t's crossed- just as they like it.

Only one problem: on the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, the compass appears beneath the sattelite/map view buttons. This is okay, as you can disable map rotation in settings. The only thing to make it better would be this: add the compass bearing of the line drawn when measuring distance. All in all, this app gets a 19/20, so I rounded up to five stars.

A solid app that delivers and stores flight info reliably. It would be nice if the UI were more contemporary (it's like a web page from the late 90s) but it's an aesthetic. The functions are all there.

I love this app, it is very useful for Canadian drone users. One thing I would love to see is ability to IMPORT flight records from DJI Fly app and other drone control - fly apps, in some shape and form. I am using this app on separate android tablet and sync works well. Thanks! Kent

Read the User Manual! There's a lot packed in this application, I overlooked the fact that there's a team management portal! Real game changer for those with multiple pilots. Great app and it also supports multiple offline functions! Great Application, worth the 50$! I tested multiple flight management apps and this is by far the best!

Better than the NRC's tool, sync between devices works well, easy to use checklists. Bit on the expensive side, but it is much easier than the alternative for logbooks and maintenance logs.

This app will simplify everything! Buy it. I bought both android and ios versions and they both stay up to date! Wow! One device to fly and one for log and checklist. If a device fail I can swap on the fly.

Hey Don this is a great app with lots of information for flying your drone in Canada. I was wondering if you are going to add Public Land Use Zones? These areas of land are not owned or governed by Parks Canada. Great places to fly a drone over 250 grams. Thanks for an awesome app, well worth the money.

Feedback link in additional resources not under Help so took time to find. To install on more than one device that use different email addresses remember to sign up your accounts in a Google family plan for up to 5 devices. Also remember to install on a second device if you have one and use your phone as part of the drone controller, that way you can use the app and drone at the same time.

Love the app so far! Passed my basic test with the help of Don Joyce's youtube videos so thought I would give this app a shot as a thanks. Awesome to have my documents right on my phone instead of carrying separate papers with me. If you want to follow the rules and stay safe while enjoying the hobby of flying your drone then I suggest downloading this app!

Great app. A provision to enter an address would be great. Current way of locating an address is bit cumbersome, unless I am missing it outright.

Great app. Simple and cover all aspects. Can we please add search functionality to see to go to a particular area and see air space and requirements rather than moving on the map?

I have my Canadian advanced RPAS pilot certification. It is fairly tricky navigating rules, regulations and requirements. Because of this app and Don's online tutorials, I was able to achieve certification and remain current in my knowledge as I earn a living as a drone operator... Thank you Don and your team. This app is awesome. Every Canadian drone operator should have this app. It is constantly updated with new features.

This is a great app. It has everything you need to be able to keep track of your paperwork, restrictions, and flight information. One comment on the videos... Don REALLY drones on! However, I learned a lot from them.

Yesterday was my first time flying my drome and it was amazing, using this app definitely made my experience much easier. All the information and features that this app are definitely a must!

Must have app for Canadian drone enthusiasts. Shows no fly zones and comply with TC preflight checks. Even shows national and provincial parks as no fly zones. Nice sub 250g maps and DJI maps options.

Drone (Mini 2) beginner out of Nepean. Awesome app with tons of useful tools and information even though I may not need half of it, it's still a great resource!

Excellent companion app for your drone operations in Canada. And because development is ongoing it will only get better. Get it now, before it goes to $99. :)

I would love to see flights logged on the map view using the GPS coordinates rather than the address. Would help a lot in more rural areas.
