Overall fantastic study guide. It's basically 500ish sample questions all with good explanations and diagrams to explain the answer. Breaking all the material down into individual questions means you only have to learn one thing at a time as opposed to trying to absorb everything at once.
I passed my remote pilot test this morning with a 93%. In the test review, I realized one of those misses was my own fault. Only one of the missed questions was something I felt this app had not covered (and neither had any other resource I found online). In short, I would say 90% of my successful study was done with this app. It's expensive, but I highly recommend it! I believe you can easily pass your remote pilot exam with only three study items: 1. Read over the text of the eCFR Title 14 Part 107 rules. It's a pretty short read. 2. Watch Tony Northrup's video on YouTube. 3. GET THIS APP AND USE IT EVERY DAY LEADING UP TO YOUR TEST! Great job developers! Thank you for the help.
just passed with a 90% score after just over 15 hours of study time with the app alone. thanks so much for helping pass this hurdle with ease! just fix the map zoom!!!
excellent app! helped me pass my test. it eas worth the money to buy this app. i probably would have failed the test without studying with this app. $50 is cheaper than paying$150 to retake the test.
Excellent app with a clean interface that makes it easy to study and retain information!
map zoom is a little buggy still but most times works great, (note9, verizon) Started studying 2 weeks ago with dauntless and passed today with an 87%
The ultimate Part107 tests preparation! I have researched many testing platforms but this is the most comprehensive! Get this app! And let's fly!
Best program I have found. My first attempt at taking the UAS exam resulted in failure. Ground school FAA drone pilot program solved my failing issue. This program is well worth buying.
I'm well pleased with this app. Even though it's not optimized for my device it works fine.
I love this app!
The most thoughtful and detailed test prep reference/tool I've found. Content is updated constantly. Explanations and insights are very helpful. WELL worth the money. ---- Post test: Thanks for your truly superior content and thorough explanations, and particularly for being responsive to comments and corrections submitted via your app. Your team obviously has a passion about thorough learning and keeping current. I got 97% on the test, and your app was my primary study tool.
This program is awesome! It allows you to structure the practice test to your learning style. You can have flash cards with the answer displayed or show the correct answer after you answer, or not show you the results until you are done. Also you can specify what topics you want to study or it will find where your weakness is and keep asking you question on those topics. It also has great explanations on WHY so you understand. Not just "show you the correct answer" It has a lot of customization to suit your learning style. Just go ahead and buy it. It is everything short of sitting in a classroom environment. Oh and you can sync/save so you can pick up where you left off if you have to stop in the middle of a review/practice test.
I passed my test with 93% the first time (only missed 4). I give credit to the info in this app. I only printed a FAA Weather Theory and the Remote Pilot Study guide and read online info for troublesome questions. The app has improved greatly in two years. Minor issues: I can't zoom out while viewing at sectional chart, only in. Panning could be more smooth too. When I save a session, it creates a new saved session even when I use the same name. I recommend this app.
I completed another online course that left me feeling very ill-prepared. Went searching for an app and almost avoided this one due to bad reviews. I am so glad I went with it! For a person with no aviation background who struggled to grasp some of the concepts required this was just what I needed as thorough explanations accompany each question. 2 years after my initial test I passed the recurrent test with flying colors. Couldn't be happier!
To the makers of the app, congratulations! At the end of this review I'll point out something that I found. This app teaches you critical thinking a must have to past this test Or else the trick questions will get you. I took six simulated tests. On the app itself. As follows 1st 88% 2nd 93% 3rd 93% 4th 93% 5th 93% And on the 6th i got a 96% So i said to myself, I'm ready to take the real deal. On the actual exam 12/27/2017 i got a 93% All I used to study, was this app. I had no prior knowledge before using this app. Kudos to this app and its writers. And thank you for it. Now! The one thing that drove me nuts with the app was how jerky it its to zoom in on any given sectional. It would take a few attempts to zoom in. And sometimes before lifting my fingers off the screen it would zoom all the way out. And that was very frustrating.
Some Audio files have distorted sound. sound. I sent an email to the developer, but they still never fixed the problems.
Scored a 95% on the test after studying with the app.
Great resource to help prep for the exam!
I just scored a 92% after using this app and the FAA's study guide and watching a few videos on airspace. I suggest reading the official guide a few times before using this app and then flagging any questions that you have difficulty with. The app gave me confidence to schedule to take the official test and my score was near what I got when I take the practice tests. I spent about 20 hours studying. Time to take a break from this app now! I will use it again in about 2 years for my recertification.
I can't say enough great things about Dauntless! I had zero aviation experience, but wanted to get my drone license. A friend of mine studying for his private pilot license recommended the Dauntless line. I bought the app on Wednesday, and passed the test the following Monday - 88%, and it only took me a 1/2 hour of the allotted 2 hours in the testing room! The instant feedback in the app really helps, and the explanations are wonderful for learning the reasoning behind the answers instead of just memorizing answers. That way, if you see a slightly different question during the real test, you know HOW to solve it. I plan to start taking private pilot lessons soon, and have already purchased the app for that.
I do not often write reviews as one it is an effort and two many of the reviews seem to be either competition(negative) or so rosy they must be a paid for the review (positive). The first thing I will say is there is no short cut to studying for the exam. Down load the study guide and the supplement and study. There are several free sites with questions. The first thing to know is the FAA study guide alone will not get you by on the test. There are many other questions that come from several other sources for FAA pilot certification, not just the unmanned certification. I hunted an search for additional information and tests. I unexpectedly ran across this app when doing a search for best source to help with passing FAA Drone pilot test. Trust me when I say I do like to spend money on an app and the $50 was something I had to process. I took the test today and passed with a 95% missing only 3 questions. I can honestly say this app was 75% responsible for this. There is more I could say but I am out of room. It will be the best $50 you spend if you want to pass and receive your sUAG license.
Great app with nice content, when it works. But the devs implemented the worse update system ever. Will not download audio files, gets stuck half way, etc, seems like the downloads are hosted on a slow server. Must be programmed by a bunch of old and very cheap geezers.... These issues render the app useless on most devices. Only seems to work on my older phone with the older version, I cant update that one fully either. Please fix this and I'll update my review. Some how make updates actually work. Please.
Overall fantastic study guide. It's basically 500ish sample questions all with good explanations and diagrams to explain the answer. Breaking all the material down into individual questions means you only have to learn one thing at a time as opposed to trying to absorb everything at once. My one complaint is that when doing "learn by listening" the audio skips a bunch making it almost useless. I'm on a Note 3; I don't know if other devices will have this problem. I spent about an hour a day for a week with this app and some additional googling for more detail on certain questions and passed with a 97%
Don't waist your money in this app, it's a long way from ready. Multiple answer questions don't work and some options are irresponsive. I wrote asking for a refund and they blaimed Google Apps saying they don't allow refunds. They never tried to solve my issues, all I've got was an insulting email. Very disappointing. There are better options and books online starting at $15!!!
App is basic. Using Nexus 6p phone, app tries to update and down load but keeps getting stuck at 99%. It tells you to keep trying but I can't download. Tried restarting the phone several times, tried wifi and LTE but no luck. Jst beware.
I definitely give this a 5 star rating. The previous reviewers don't seem to know what they are talking about. The help desk has been very quick getting back to me and actually answered my questions on the product. I haven't been thru all of the features that are offered on the software yet., but the question and answer section is fantastic and the immediate feedback, if wanted, is excellent reinforcement for my type of learning. I also tried the flash card part and it also helps in learning. I like the part where you can save sessions and come back to the same place later. If you are not sure whether you want it or not check out the pc trail version. You'll probably get hooked like I did!
great information but app needs some work. App randomly shuts down when using the quiz but over the last two weeks it has been happen alot. i might get 4-6 questions in and it shuts down. tried reinstalling but still does it. im on a google Pixel 3 and have no major issues with any other apps, i have installed. its a bummer because it really has some great information..... if it would just stay running.
