Dropbox Paper Beta

I really want to use this but the bugs are making it impossible. The whole time, I tolerated the bug where randomly the last word of a to do list item would not get saved. But the latest update introduced a fun new bug where all checkbooks for my to do items spontaneously disappear over and over as I try to edit my lists. If I don't hit undo immediately after jt happens my lists get messed up. I just lost the checked state of all the boxes on a list. Time to start looking for another option...

For the last 3 weeks I've having issues with existing documents in PAPER app, the formatting is lost when opening an existing document on android phone, specially the bullet list, it used to work perfectly, I had to reformat my documents on my laptop on the web based PAPER app. creating a new document won't let me upload pictures. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app with no luck. DROPBOX please fix this issue, this app is great when working properly

The performance of the Android app is absolutely abysmal. Editing documents is a horrendous experience. Viewing seems ok. It's prettier than Google Docs but is basically unusable as an editor. Please fix your performance. Another user mentioned it can't handle large documents but my document isn't even that big, I'm planning a 3-day trip and I have links to restaurants and bullet points for what I'm doing for 3 days.

Dropbox Paper works great on the Web. This app, tho, is painful. It opens quickly. Then I hit edit and wait 30-60s, even with a speedy phone and fast Internet. I scroll down and wait another 10s. I type a two words task: "Get docs." I get "GetDocs." Local copies on mobile would also really help. Someone at Dropbox should either make this work or just ditch the idea.

Dropbox Paper is an excellent service and I absolutely love using it. Unfortunately the android application seems very slow and often stops responding which makes prompt changes very difficult. I hope that it'll be fixed in subsequent updates.

So many ways to set this up to share jobs/todo items with a team. It still needs some work, especially loading multiple images on a Paper job opened on a mobile device in the field and a more user friendly timeline/calender, but I am confident it is coming. Using it primarily for construction job management and job notes to share with a few employees and vendors.

I open the app, sign in, select an existing file I would like to edit, and Dropbox Paper signs me out. Sign in again, same issue. Love Dropbox Paper, but this app is a virtual paperweight for me currently.

The app still leaves much to be desired in comparison with its Desktop brother. You can't take selected documents offline and commenting works only if don't press the edit button, which is a bit illogical. The biggest plus is the app's speed. This is perhaps the fastest and most reliable app of its kind. Needs more development , though

Update: it's been over a month since I rated this and reported the problem to Dropbox but still no resolution. I migrated my notes from Evernote after experiencing problems with it and Paper has been brilliant for a long time but the past month I can't open or create new docs, I get the error 'failed to load'. I have tried various things but it still doesn't work. I can only read my notes through a web browser on my phone (not edit or create). On my laptop it works fine.

Severe performance and battery drain issues once a document gets bigger. I literally have to wait for half a second between characters because of the processing delay. If I don't it'll end up all garbled. Can feel the phone getting warm while I'm typing in it, and the battery visibly draining. Pretty awful. And that's on a high-end phone.

Edit: dropped my rating. The app is pretty buggy. One of my docs disconnects me every time I try to open it. And half of my docs at least are not even showing up. Submitted feedback but haven't heard from anyone as of yet. I'm quite fond of Paper online, has some really cool features. But the app is a disappointing. What you can do on the app is quite basic and it's lacking some pretty basic features that are found in the online version.

Disappointing. I like to use the app on my laptop but it is very limited when used from your phone. You cannot create tables and the functionalities remain very basic. You can't force to show the Folders only (both on mobile and laptop) so you have a whole list of created documents at start, which does not work for me… and it requires more clicks, just to access what the file I need… when you open the app many times a day, that becomes really annoying. Needs a good improvement… too basic.

I wish I could use a different app, but this one is across different models of devices and has the minimum functionality I'm looking for. However it's slow, it struggles to load offline occasionally (a REAL pain when I don't want to have to keep notes all over the place) then duplicates new data when it manages to reload. The folders and search doesn't work offline, so I never use either to navigate to the notes I want. Can't duplicate notes and it doesn't integrate with Dropbox?? Come on guys.

I've used Dropbox Paper as my primary cloud/cross-platform note-taking application for about 5 years now, and I really wanted to like it. But, after so many years there are still major issues with the app, and development seems to have stopped. Editing a document is an extremely slow and sluggish experience, and no home screen shortcut to directly edit a doc. Plus many annoying bugs. For instance, I cannot select a full bullet-point paragraph, only a partial paragraph (seriously, like what?).

It is very glitchy, when i first installed it, it would sit there forver trying to load the page. WHen I was copying/pasting information or changing the font formats, the click of the mouse highight would not hold. I would have to keep going over it to have it stick. There is nothing wrong with my mouse either..Hope you fix it soon because I will find something else that is better and compatitble...

I love this. I can create and sync notes, lists and files between my smart devices and my desktop seamlessly. It's very fast and easy to edot between all devices. Adding rich content and links to DropBox files is easy. We are also testing this to use for team collaboration today. This app needs a "dark mode". I was using EverNote, although EN is robust, it's too expensive since we already pay for DropBox.

App does not respond and crashes very often. It's also very limited even for simple tasks as editing font size, or rotating a photo. I couldn't realise how to get organized with it. There's no tags, or good search options. It seems it's up to you to organize the things in folders, just like the old days. As a Dropbox user, I would prefer to use a good text editor and save my notes in my own folders at dropbox.

This app is extremely frustrating. I have Android and it works poorly on my device. Mind you, my phone is not old or outdated. Tons of problems syncing, a lot of times what you write will disappear, etc. I like the app for its accessibility but am thinking of switching due to all the glitches I regularly encounter (sometimes on desktop as well).

I have used Paper for years now and have many lists I save and use every year... However the last update has wiped them and the whole app is different? Now when I select app it asked me to go to Dropbox Paper and get started... So I signed in and I can not find my lists anymore. Very frustrating 😤 I do not use the full functionality of this updated version only needed it to create my lists. So will be uninstalling unless you can direct me to the lists I have had for many years! Thank you

The integration with Dropbox is surprisingly bad. From Dropbox I can select the option to create a Paper file under a folder. So far so good. But I want to edit the note later it just doesn't open. I click on it, Paper starts, shows the spinner for a while and then nothing. Also, there's no option on Paper to open files directly from my Dropbox. Quite surprising that the app is owned by Dropbox and that's not allowed.

I can't edit my documents anymore on my android. The app just keeps crashing when I hit the edit button.

Impossible directions and no application help, not user friendly and simple stupid. Pretty much worthless, without good directions. Dropbox is also not user friendly, and stupid simple. Joining Twitter, Facebook, or a form group is still not a user friendly option, especially considering how much Dropbox charges. How about some great directions and popup instructions for users. Still a terrible overpriced application with help from others. YouTube popup links for support could be an idea.

Honestly, FIX THE ISSUES WITH THIS. Nearly every review showcases the exact issues I have with this EVERY time I use the app. It has potentional, but I will probably stop using if these aren't fixed soon. Always says "no internet" when it is connected, formatting is strange when copying text into or out of app, doesn't always sync properly, is extremely slow or crashes entirely just from typing regular text, etc. Too many issues to list. It's like you never updated since beta version.

Not functional. On Samsung Note 10+. Always saying failed to load document, check my internet connection. The connection on my phone is confirmed fine, and i can use paper via web browser on the very same phone. Already contacted support, the best they can do is "to rush the problem to some other team", been weeks now, still unusable. Well, may be because i'm only a "free" user, won't get any priority. Considering other app.

Nice app, useful for collaborations, only thing I'm missing is dark mode like Dropbox has. I'm hoping to see that option soon.

The Best app of its kind by far! I have quite literally dreamed of someone creating an app like this. It just works with my brain seamlessly. I can't stress enough how amazing it is. They have thought of all the simple little irritating things that other developers seem to miss and fixed them. It's as if it were created by Apple with the seamless and effortless workflow. Thanks dropbox! Genius!

My favorite feature is the automatic presentation mode. It will take any document an attempt to create a presentation. Great for creaing presentations quickly for conferences. I've used it before at presentations and it works in a pinch.
