Dropcam worked fine before Nest (aka Google) acquisition. Now app is crap with network timeouts, failed logins, and what seems to be a no longer supported app (Dropcam) followed by a forced migration to another app (Nest) with limited functionality and which requires me to enter serial numbers of products already defined in my account and PAID subscription! Come on Google/Nest, you MUST FIX THIS!
I originally gave 5 stars but just noticed they reduced the picture quality to make you buy the more expensive NEST camera. Now I have a low quality picture. I want my $150 back. You can't reduce the quality of what was a selling point and I PAID FOR! I'll make you a deal, I'll give you (NEST) my drop cam plus $50 for the new camera otherwise you just stole from me service I already paid for!!!!!!!!!!!
Alerts are always behind if I get any at all. I am always having to refresh app in order for it to show recent alerts. Sound is crackley.please fix mini motions. They are blank unless you click on them. It is the same way on the new nest app .
I want a camera that records not one that only displays current footage. When I selected "Add Video History" all that happens is they try to sell more useless cameras. Don't waste your $ on their junk like I did.
To put it simple, it works. The only flaw was it didn't have a skip forward button. You could log on and watch clips, skip on the timeline, look at motion times, etc. It worked. That is something nest can't fix several months later.
Used to work great, but lately is a waste of time. Fails daily. I think users are being forced to use Nest App.
From the company that owns android but makes better IOS apps then apps for its own operating system brings you a giant steaming pile. This app is complete garbage, it requires a subscription but half the time the app is broken, doesn't display the cameras properly or doesn't display activity until I clear the cache and relog into it. Even after having to do that it only displays partial information. I have to log into the website to actually see what's going on, which completely defeats its purpose.
Dropcam pro has ok video quality for $200. But it stops there. You have to pay a monthly fee to record video. Really! !? Much better solutions from local computer stores. Also unless your a USA citizen, your video stream passess across the US border and its considered a foreign communication and can and will be looked at by the Nsa.
It went off line 28 times in 16 hrs reset my Internet reconnected the camera and solved nothing. Never had this problem before until the firmware update. Strongly considering dropping this product!
The unfollow button is right next to my back button. I have to email my supervisor to have access back each and every time.
30 minutes is too long before the first camera alert. A lot can happen in that time. Otherwise I have been pretty happy with this app. Need to get alerts going on Nest app since they want us to use it.
It started in the last month or two. Whenever I opened a camera window it crashes. Nexus 7.
Ever since nest acquired drop cam from google it has become absolutely unusable. I think it gets worse every day. From constantly "loading" to just plain not working absolutely ANY other wifi camera would be better. My only recommendation is to run from this as fast as you can. It is a complete waste of your money and will only drive you insane.
