Novel approach to language learning. App allows to learn with little restrictions in terms of having to pay to gain any progress. Overall recommended. Please add an option to remove pointless so called "motivational messages" that pop up saying "great job" etc and ruin smooth gameplay.
This is a great little app for learning words and phrases in your chosen language. It's surprising how much you can learn in 5 minutes a day if you do it every day. Give it a try, you won't regret it.
I took German from HS to College, I've become 'rusty' with no one around me who speaks the language, it's is a review for me. BUT! For a begining, I would pick another app!! I'd like more CHOICES on the free half for learning grammar and verbs, real language!! I'm retired and cannot afford to buy all the 'add-ons' on a small military pension! A start with foods is also the WRONG point to start, or refresh! Travel, time, nav. or weather would be much better! You also mix low&high German, etc.😉
It used to have great ux. Now, not so much. App is constantly glitching, can't opet user profile. It freezes when the timer is done.
I think this is a great app so far. The time limitation of the free version is not that bad although it would be nice to be able to use the review dojo feature without wasting time. Also I think this visual learning method is really effective.
Useful app, a good way to learn words and phrases, however, it may not help to fully learn the language as there is no way to understand why sentences are arranged the way they are. Only good for memorising and not forming.
very interactive and easy to learn vocabulary I recommend it if you are a visual/audiovisual learner

This app is wonderful^^ I just started to learn German. (It's a beautiful language, I mean it ♡) and this app helps me to increase my vocabulary everyday. I also used it to learn English and it was very handy! I especially recommend it if you are starting to learn a new language.
I'm overall satisfied, it's a nice app for vocabulary, there are just few things that bother me- some pronounciations are completely off and wrong and sometimes the words cut in half, so it sounds strange. Second thing is that there are way too many ads in the free version. If I may a suggestion- give us the option to pay for the premium on a monthly basis when we sign up for a year subscription, otherwise the price is too much.
This is amazing. I never thought I'd be able to learn the language of my ancestors, and so soon! Perfect app! There is only one setback that does not affect It's rating. Instead of 5 minutes, can you increase it to 6 or at least 5 1/2? I'm constantly getting distracted (very easily) and am losing valuable time. Anyways, a flawless and very visual app that helps you learn very quickly and constant refresher so you never forget!
Full disclosure: My German is fairly good (B1/2 level), but I'm always on the lookout for ways to improve it. This app is aimed squarely at complete beginners, and there is (unlike, say Duolingo) no way to indicate your skill level on first starting. As such, I find it a tedious grind, not a challenge or useful refresher. The worse oversight is not translating the articles, for crying out loud!
I took German as a foreign language but had forgotten most of what I had learned. This app has done a wondrful job of re-introducing me to the German language in a fun and interactive way. The ability to re-listen in a slowed down voice to really pick up the nuance of the accent helps me so much. I love the different ways it tests you such as matching, spelling, drag and drop and verifying if the term matches the image. This is awesome!
It is a good app. I really like how the app is set up, but the downfall is the timer. Once in a while, the timer works right and counts down at the correct pace. However, a vast majority of the time, the 5 minutes they give you for learning in the free version is equivalent to only 2 maybe 2.5 minutes. The time runs down faster than normal. I don't know if that is an actual issue with the app, or if it is intentional to get you to purchase the app. If it is an app error, please fix it.
I guess this app is useful if you don't speak English and can't find a German language app for a language that you do speak. As a native English speaker I found the overhead of having to memorise a bunch of icons pretty inefficient compared to other apps like DuoLingo. Also apparently you have to pay money to practice for more than 5 minutes a day? Honestly i bailed after the first 5 minute session. I do find the swipey interface pretty quick and intuitive. There don't seem to be any grammar or sentence structure exercises—everything is organised into categories like Home, Sports, etc.
The graphic designer did a good job, simple and efficient. Content-wise, I like that we can keep a word or not see it further, although it is a shame there is no language test before as some people like me are not pure beginning and are a bit bored of some exercices that are just time consuming and not relevant to improve further. But it is perfect for pure beginners! I also appreciate the modularity, simple and various way answers and wuestions can interact with the user's screen.
I installed this app again and now it works. It seems that after accepting the 90 days challenge the app does not start anymore. The secret is not accepting challenges. It is an awesome app and I hope I can keep using it. I love how is designed and especially that it tolerates errors. It does not marks immediately as an error the letters you select. You can progress feeling motivated and wanting to learn more even if you are dyslexic.
So far, so good! - Edit: Still loving this app. After preview, I immediately purchased. The only major change I would urge the creators to consider would be to make the individual sections repeatable (outwith 'Dojo' and 'Word Collection'). The ability to return to a section, say 'Food,' would be useful to many. Marvellous app, though. Truly inspired.
I've never had such an amazing visual and audible expression of another language that is as involving as this app has been, and for free. I love the variety that it has you answer an yet there's only three different ways, so it's still repetitive in nature until you've basically mastered the word. Then bringing up those same words at way later points to give you a refresher (: Cannot say enough good things!
So far so fun! I like how they repeat the word each time it's used so you really get to hear it. The little "games" after reinforce what they just showed you as well as go over words you have already been shown. However I do wish I had more time to learn without having to pay a subscription. Fortunately they keep a collection of the words learned so you can go into it and just click on a word to hear its pronunciation again.
So far, so good. I love the fact that you use pictures and keep repeating words to help users learn properly. I also love that you have various sections that focus on different topics. To top it off, I still learn a lot even though I'm not buying the premium packages! My only suggestion to make this app better is to introduce the basics like pronunciation of the alphabet as that's tricky in German language where s is pronounced as z. Apart from that, I've been having fun since I installed the app
Vocabulary is one of the most difficult parts of language, due to how much you need to remember. This app helps you memorize in the best way, and even if you only have 5 minutes every 9 hours, the app is generous and doesn't count the time between loading questions. That means it gives you the most out of your 5 minutes, and there are a lot of time bonuses too. Really loving this app, though i wish you could take a test to measure how much you know first, and then base lessons accordingly.
I was really enjoying this app, I think it really is a nice way to teach vocab. However, it bugs frequently which is frustrating when you have a 5 minute timer and this bugging takes away already limited time. Additionally, recently the app will forget I've seen a word, show it to me, but change the written word, for example writing "noch einmal" but saying "wiederholen Sie" with the latter being the original correct phrase for the image. Finally, the app forgot my streak which was over 20 days.
It's an interesting way of learning a language. IT says the word, shows a picture and you can read in english what it means. Then it continually shows and says the word along with other vocabulary words you have learned. It has you match the words to the picture, spell the words, and some true or false stuff. I think it's cool. Simple and to the point. Granted I just started a week ago. But maybe this helps. 😊
It's a pretty fun learning app and it has nice animations. I like it better than duolingo, but I feel like the premium has way too many feutures. Like some of the premium feautures should be on the regular side, because I feel like premium has most of the app's feutures. It's also really pricey. That's why I rate 4 stars. Instead of paying for premium I will just use "duolingo" and "drops" at the same time.
The subscription was SO worth it! The time increase allows you to focus more time on learning throughout the day and immerse yourself into various categories. I love that it keeps a rolling word bank and pops in "old" words while you're working on new words. My one wish for the app would be to have the option to choose which learning method you use (vs only having them randomized), so that perhaps you could work on one method that needs improvement or best benefits you.
It's a bit difficut to get the answer right when you have to connect the string but you make a lot of miatakes and you lose your chance to repeat but, overall it's good
The app is great, but I keep facing a very annoying problem. I've done a session yesterday, increasing my streak to 8 days, and having an extra free of charge 40 seconds or so. And now I run the app and see it didn't save my last session, or even two. I was working on a topic, and now it seems I've never started it. Looks like they've restored from a backup at some point. And it's not a one-time thing, I've already had the same issue two weeks ago. It's really discouraging.
I used to really love this app and it is great for learning vocab and set phrases, although in one of the recent updates, pretty much every time you get a word correct it gives you a thumbs up message which disrupts concentration and also pauses the timer so a 5 minute session ends up taking a lot longer. Please give an option to turn this off
