I use this app but its not good and developers are not doing much to improve it. Slow start up ,freezes, crashes ,timer stops or slows while doing lessons. The developers installing content you will never use. I made the mistake of buying the life time version of this. Don't make the same mistake.
A beautiful visual dictionary. Latest version introduced motivational messages that cannot be turned off. Very annoying if you're an advanced learner, as they are pointless and can slow you down terribly. 2 stars off for that but will update to 5 when this is fixed.
It was good until the recent updates to add motivation slides that you can't turn off and now you're forced to create an account to use. Also performance has slowed since the recent May update. Shame as it was a good app
App crashes every time I open it now. The app is decent but I don't find myself remembering a ton after a week or even a few days unless I wipe my progress for a section and try again. Review dojo is simply not useful for "upkeep". During the lessons, sometimes the matching is so bad it can hamper the learning - I've had to match a word to a picture where all but 1 word was a number. If you're looking for a challenge besides rote memorization, you won't find it here.
My significant other is filipina and her parents don't really speak English. This app is amazing and it helps me be able to communicate while we're in the Philippines visiting at least a little bit.
Tried to pay for a subscription through Google play. Was charged. But the app failed to apply my payment and did not offer me the premium. Just lost $10 for nothing.
The app is okay for learning but does not help with pronunciation since it does not make you say it. I am considering getting my money back and choosing a different learning app for that reason.
My experience wasn't bad, I'm very new and this app was very smooth and had good learning curve and strategy, my fiancee is Filipina and I very much would like to become fluent, this will help and I thank u for it being free so far.
Easy to use. I paid for the unlimited learning time, it's well worth it. Some of the translations aren't totally accurate (having spoken to native speakers) but it's brilliant as a beginner app.
Very nice app at times! The difficult seems to ramp up unexpectedly though at times, and it spends a lot of time teaching you words which have the same spelling I'm English. Still works relatively great though, and features natural sounding spoken Filipino.
Brilliant concept to make learning fun & effective. The only problem I have is that we're required to remember the picture attached to each vocabulary. While it might be helpful, three's a downside to it because some pictures don't really represent the word clearly. For example; a picture of a man clasping his hands in front his chest is attached to the word "salamat" which means "hi" even though that picture could as well represent the word "clasp" or "welcome" etc.
Drops deducted time off the counter by forcing me to watch adds - using dishonest tactics (pop-up adds) to remove time while you can't see the the clock. Also, the "streak" calendar doesn't register most days.
I have been using this app since long time 😊 I have really enjoyed it ☺️ I'll suggest to all my friends this is ever best app for learning
Just started but finding it easy to grasp the words
Great app, gets you in the habit of studying every day. Mostly good for expanding your vocab quickly and effectively. Makes studying fun. UPDATE: the app makers have been "improving" many of the images but this isn't an improvement in a lot of cases. The old images were simpler and thus quicker to recognize. Many of the new ones go overboard and take longer to figure out. Please go back to the simpler designs.
It is a nice app for learning vocabulary, and the time limit is helpful, but based on my experience so far, in only teaches the meaning of words and the proper way to use them, for example, the way it teaches us to ask for a bill is "ang bill, slalmat", when a better way to say it is "Ang bayad po". This is an app good for learning vocabulary, but not for grammar, that is my opinion. Thank you
Very easy to follow along and reinforces memorization! Awesome audio. Great app! Edit: there are some inconsistencies when it comes to the same words being in different categories (like spelling or pronunciation... sometimes both). The first category taught should be the alphabet for any special character combinations (like 'ch' and '-tion' in English) and what letters are actually in their alphabet
As of now my experience is really really good. The app is working fine and I can see how it could be quite helpful to anyone learning. If I were to suggest some changes though, maybe asking about the fluency you may already have in a language or giving a diagnostic test would help a person maximize the time they put into the app if it helped them in the right areas and match your mastery.
This is such a good app. I use it whenever I remember but the notifications and the time set reminder help a lot. You can choose from other languages but I use it for Tagalog. Love how it shows a picture with the word so that if you do go away for a bit, the pictures help remind you a lot and I rarely see ads so I think it's when you finish your 5 minutes.
I enjoyed using this app for 10 days, but then, it became buggy. I can no longer access lessons. When I start up a lesson an ad appears, I can't use the X to close it, I tried pressing it several times. I have to use the back button to leave the screen. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, clearing cache, and turning off the adblocker, but nothing worked. The time keeps resetting to 10 hours and I can never play the lesson. Please help me fix this. I'm using a OnePlus 5T running Android 9.
The app is well done with beautiful animations BUT, i have to wait 9 hours after every session just to keep learning. That's a very poor feature for someone like me who likes to continously work on learning and understanding and it doesnt help when i'm given a time limit while i'm working. It only makes me panic and rush through the whole thing without properly digesting what i just "learned".
In the first 5 minutes, I was taught about 6 words in fantastic speed. Recognition, spelling, listening, and true or false association, all easy yet building from the first word learned. The first word is not let go, but repeated exposure is involved, without being boring. I rate this app top notch. Recommend for all learners, especially single language users. Purchased the Lifetime access during the sale. 24 languages and all lessons unlocked; what could be better?! I will be on often, now!
very good app!! great visuals, based on context clues rather than the translation. good starter app for anyone interested in a variety of languages; the subscription is super worth it in my opinion since you can also use it for other languages at the same time for the one subscription. would recommend to anyone, especially since it offers lesser known languages!
Fantastic app for learning vocabulary - mixing up the terms a little when the app is testing your recall, as well as using different types of activities (listening, spelling, matching) really helps consolidate the new words. I've found this an incredibly helpful introduction to Tagalog. Adverts can be a little frustrating, but they do only appear after a session has finished and not during, which helps with concentration at least!
Literally only has one thing holding it back, and that's the time limit. I'd much rather you replace it with a lives system or something, and have it refill everyday. That's the one thing holding it back. It also feels a bit cluttered due to the "Loading voices" prompt at the bottom and how the TTS repeatedly says the word, but that's easily removed in the settings. It would be nice to have a slider based on how often you want the TTS to trigger, but it's fine as it is. Otherwise, Amazing app.
I like the app for its good designs but still need improvements, sillhouetes aren't that good. also the transitions are a bit overanimated, it seems like ome transition take a second, and more overanimated stuff. but for the educational assistance it gives, it is good. the animations are just a bit annoying. anyways good job and i love it
I am loving this app, been using it off and on now for a year and a half and ended up getting a subscription and have had no bugs/crashes during my entire time using it. The lessons are very useful for beginners and are kind of like flashcards in a way so they get repetitive which is great that way you can really hammer down on some of the words! Also they have a whole bunch of topics to learn from like food/drink, travel talk, foundational words, animals, and the list goes on!
