I love this app and have used it for a few years but there is a recent update I don't like. The app uses the system API to set an alarm out in the future based on the update interval for the widget and does it perpetually. This causes an alarm notification to constantly be in the notification area at the top of Android which is annoying (even if you don't have an alarm set). How do I know it's this app? I had to go each app on my phone uninstalling 1 by 1 until the alarm notification went away.
Very good. I paid to get rid of ads. But I really wish I could export a data file so I could look at it in excel, for example for comparing the different measurement methods on the same walking route. Any chance of adding this guys?
Bought the full version for the widget. Love it. I've yet to crosscheck its accuracy, but across the 3 available data sources it seems decently consistent.
Annoying App - The fact that you are charging just to access data that eminates entirely free from inside of your own phone, and expect people to jerry-up $3.59, just to access the calibrate for 0, or ground level (which also shut out the advertising), in order to calculate altitude - Renders this "free" app, significantly useless and untill you pay to free up essential functions, and get rid of the advertising. Therefore, not free. You've created a "free app", which is useless whilst free. FU
Does exactly what an altimeter should do - report your altitude. Altitude is based on one of several methods, a tribute to the sensors in a modern smartphone. GPS, Barometric, don't require internet; SRTM and USGS, the most accurate, do. Barometric requires calibration, the others don't.
I haven't used it extensively yet, but a pet peeve is they way that the app keeps setting silent alarms. If I could shut that off or if the app could just update periodically in the background rather than showing me when it is going to update next, that would be great
First time trying to set measurements to empirical units up pops a full screen ad with blasting background "music' that about stopped my heart! Other than the full screen ads that pop up every time you do something, it's an OK app.
So far the GPS alone presents values of less than 2, 3 meters difference than when I add the mobile data . I don't have WiFi. The results match what I knew too be close to the real one. Thanks.
so far very impressive and no issues, following my sons journey across America and I can see the stops as well as relay elevations for ride gear and maybe carb adjustments or what not. I like topography options. 5 stars
Too much - just show the altitude without all of the childish animation, buttons, bells, and whistles and it would get 4 stars (the additional exclusion of advertising would earn it five stars).
App is showing altitude very correctly with simple and clean presentation. In recent version I cannot change Date format in altitude photo , It should be added in future update.
This app works great. On all of my different devices it has adjusted itself to them. Makes it accurate and simple to use.
I have purchased this app and I can't calibrate and keep getting the window that says I must purchase this app to do so. I ALREADY BOUGHT THIS APP! Please help me on this. And Google won't refund even though I had a good reason for the refund. 😡
I always give 1 star to apps where the ads are loud multimedia ads because I want to be able to open the app whenever I want without waking my wife late or early, or disturbing coworkers during meetings. The first makes her angry and the second is embarrassing.
Excellent altimeter app. Clear and simple layout, multiple functions and calibration options. Very dependable.
wonderful application. Use the GPS function. Have lots of hilly land and it seems to present an accurate elevation. Easy to use.
Widget shows only GPS and not SRTM value? It's not showing hands too as in app's interface. Widget window not resizable. Needs more development. I would prefer to get refunded for this.
So far I like it , I am looking for a plot of land to purchase and with rising sea levels I have started to run into people and even government agencies lieing about land altitudes . I first noticed it when I noticed the Don flowed up 50 meters to reach Rostof , hmmm.
Bounces around to much. I need it for an advertised weather station and its off 30 to 40 feet. It changes on me.
Easy to use, reliable. It's a fun tool for vacations, hiking and utility terrain vehicles!
It works fairly well but accuracy is very questionable. I am hoping updates will eventually make accuracy less questionable.
The GPS reads -37 feet for alt. at sea level, can't get barometer to select, yet the USGS seems accurate.
Works with the digital display but analog dial....the hands freeze up and don't turn around. 😫
If only the app can be improved to not give different readings for the same place then it will be perfect.👍👍👍
Great, appears to be very accurate. Very easy to use and understand apps features.
This app has a nice, clean interface and is really good about displaying the information you want. Be aware that the vast majority of cell phones do not have a pressure sensor, so barometric pressure as a basis for your altitude is not available to you. Not even sure why they included that. It's also a bit of a power hog, and if the widget is left running you may see your cell phone's battery dropping steadily to exhaustion in a fairly short time.
