The last update contains a huge bug. Videos wont upload, only photos are uploaded. The 'upload only photos' option is unticked, but it doesn't have any effect. This version has to be quickly replaced with the older one. Update: I confirm that the problem has been solved in the new update 1.14.1.

It is uploading photos and video files from my phone but it is mostly impossible to view them even on a 500gb download speed, the photos sometimes and takes forever while can't recall if I ever could watch any of my recorded videos, tried tons of times. The thumbnails are also never loaded, seems odd to buy the hardware when the software isn't good enough. No problems on the PC though. Will update the review when the issues are fixed. Waiting for the released app.

This is an excellent app, it's had a lot of bashing at 3.0 stars for its reviews but it's great. Future enhancemen request: I would like to see multiple offline files (in different folders) to be able to be selected for upload to NAS. Also, if you could use the "Wake Lock" feature so the screen doesn't dim if you want to watch a transfer as it is uploading, that would be great. Thanks developers.

Does exactly what I need it to do. Very simple, intuitive design. Not sure why ratings are mixed. I can view, and download my files onto my mobile device. I believe you can also upload, but for my usage, I'll just upload from home. I can login remotely via my home VPN, but this app is very convenient. Also great for users who aren't tech savvy to do that, and want to download a file off my NAS. If this is the purpose you need to fullfil, this is the app to do it.

DS File worked fine and just did what it's supposed to, uploading files to connected storage. But now the app recurringly fails to upload files, particularly files larger than 100MB fail always. Please Synology team, fix the upload issue in the app to make it a trustworthy helper again. Hint: problem seems to correlate with HTTPS login option active. Thanks.

No option to choose which app to open a file with unlike all android file explorers. At least add fast forward and seeking to the audio player if you can't be bothered allowing a default app to open music files. Please allow me open files with a chosen app without having to download. I would add more stars if this was fixed .. thanks.

I've had this for about 5 minutes and it found my NAS, browsed my directory, and opened a pdf for viewing, first on my LAN, then with WiFi turned off, using cell data. Not slow, not a hitch. Using an old Samsung S7 edge, DSM 7 updated. NB I addressed the NAS over the internet using my current home IP address, not a domain name, and http not https, bc I don't have a domain or a cert yet. So nothing was relayed by Synology servers as it is with Quick Connect. Dunno whether that makes any diff.

Photo backup is a nice feature, but I can't clear photos once they have been backed up. Also I can't view the pictures once they have been backup ony phone. The thumbnails work, but I can't see the pictures in full screen; it's just black. This app is frustrating.

Failed uploads...any larger files seem to fail after a few seconds. The files I try are video and range from 1 to 3gb. They fail at different times but all 300mb or less. Just fail with unable to perform this operation try again later 500. Was hoping this new 4.14.2 update would have fixed it.

Latest version 4.14.1 is still half broken. Photobackup doesn't clear the uploaded files anymore and always have to manually tally. Cleared app cache and data and setup from scratch, still doesn't clear backed up pics or videos -- Works now thanks

Can you guys look into why it doesn't support Pixel 6 video backup? Photos are fine. No problems there. It's just that it ignores the video even when I untick upload photos only. I've tried clearing cache, restarting the phone, and redownloading the app.

Apparently this upgraded on its own and now doesn't back up movies on my phone. photos still work but movies no longer show up in my nas. not even small ones. It was working great up till this version, wish they hadn't messed with it.

Ever since the DSM update, this app has been incredibly slow. Edit: After the most recent update it is a lot faster. I'm not waiting 30 min for a 100M file anymore. :) It's a few seconds now at most. Thanks for the fix!

Such a Failure. First, it's nothing compared to the DS Cloud. Second, it doesnt work by itself, that is, you will have to open the app and start the photo back up yourself. Third, it only back up photos only whether or not you click the "photo only" or not. Please update this app ASAP

Works on photos. Doesn't on videos. So you have to back up these manually. Needs fixing. I'm not on my own with this problem a few others saying the same thing.

The backup feature is broken. It only backs up photos despite the "upload photos only" option being unticked. Worst thing is when you click the "free up space" option, it deletes the videos that it hasn't backed up so you lose the files forever!! Fix this quick as I'm sure many users are losing files and they don't even know

New version will fail on moving files over about 250meg from my phone to the NAS. It will go on to the next file after 50-80% and fail all the files. Useless now for my needs :-( Only workaround now is to transfer from phone to laptop then to NAS.

It struggles at points. Sign ons very slow, transferring file total failures, file uploads slower than expected, interface changes are less intuitive, etc.

Photo backup doesn't work as I expected it to. The initial backup process finished and reports the 'backup complete' status. However, it didn't back up a number of more recent photos (~300 files). I found no way to tell the app to continue syncing. And when I take a new picture, it doesn't sync up. I cleared the app cache and restarted it. Now it started to sync up the whole folder from scratch - creating duplicates in the NAS shared folder.

This seems to have serious problems. I mainly want to use it to back up photos in the background. This actually never happens because there are always errors. Opening the app always at first gives connection errors with incorrect credentials. I just keep trying and it eventually does connect (I don't change the credentials). The app seems so clunky.

Doesn't work. Doesn't connect. I tried to contact customer support, but they take days to rrspond (email only). When they did finally respond, their instructions didn't match options for settings on my DS1. I submitted request for clarification and am still waiting for a response. Being able to access my files is the main reason I bought this rather expensive system. The app is useless.

I love Synology but I'm sorry this app is not up to standards. App times out randomly so if you are uploading a large file that will take time, it will xrash and need to restart the upload. I've had to retry uploads upto 6-7 times and not be able to do anything else just to make sure that nothing interrupts the uploads. Pleaseeeee create an upload resume feature that it can synchronize and resume from wherever it left off or from. If you can add this feature, this app will be the best.
