Poor user interface with the newest update! The original was much better. No idea what the developers were thinking and who they got their feedback from. Extremely difficult to use, so many clicks are needed just to find the diagnostic criteria for a particular disorder. The content page itself is already a nightmare! Accept that it's a failure. Bring back the old interface!!
Not happy with the most recent update. No longer user friendly, takes forever to search for anything then you click on one it is just coding when looking for the DSM criteria, it is a gamble on which one to pick & very frustrating when a patient is sitting with you. Almost useless now!!! I want the old version back! What makes me even more frustrated is that I paid for this & can no longer use it!!! :-(
Horrible update, the last version was old school and quite primitive. But that's all I need, is a DSM V reference book, with tree like structure. Now the "new" is just like the APA HTML version. To look for a diagnosis, I have to scroll and scroll and scroll. And sometime it refused to stop in the middle of a page. Please please don't fix something that is not broken. Just need to have a usable DSM in my pocket. I actually paid for both Android and iPhone version, same problem.
I am extremely disappointed. I bought this last weekend because I couldn't find my hard copy and thought this might be helpful. This app has many glitches in it. I can't bookmark anything because when I try to click the screen the option to bookmark disappears within a blink of an eye. Please fix the bugs.. it doesn't respond well when I am trying to scroll through it. I am using this app on a Samsung Note10 +
Good but it used to be better. The search feature has become a little difficult to use. It's easier to just go into the sections and grab something that way than searching for the dx. Still a great app, that's pretty useful as a clinican. It's essentially a pocket guide for the DSM that's literally in your pocket!
What did you do to this app? I've used this app for several years as a licenced mental health provider and have been satisfied, until the recent update. Now its glitchy, hard to navigate, visually dysfunctional, user interface not even close as the previous version. Hopefully they fix it! Update: just tried to look up a series of codes and the app was cumbersome, glitchy, would display criteria other than what I searched for. I'm sorry to say, I'm uninstalling.
This new version is terrible. The previous version was so incredibly useful. Now it's exactly as useful as having a 600 page book on your desk. You cannot effectively search for diagnoses as you could before. Can you please offer the old style navigation menu as an option?
Horrible update was fixed - barely any bugs but sometimes when looking at a diagnosis you have to close the app to open a new one. App design is easy to figure out how to navigate.
What happened?! It was so good before & easy to interface with... This version is AWEFUL! & it was expensive! Imagine sitting down to study for your counseling exam & not having access to your physical copy of the DSM thanks to quarantine but not worrying about it because you know you've invested in this great, easily navigated app only to finally log on to THIS MESS! It also freezes my phone which I haven't had happen with any app in years! I need an update that's similar to before or a refund
The latest release is no longer compatible with my phone. I'm running Android 10. And it's worked in the past. I thought it was my phone, but ran it on an Android 10 tablet. That doesn't work either. This used to always be at my fingertips. I've gone back to hard copy.
I am a 4th year psych resident. I used to recomend other residents buy this app all the time, because it was incredibly intuitive and helpful. The new update, however, is a tremendous step backwards, and unless they go back to the old format I will definitely not be recommending this app anymore.
This app is VERY hard to use. Just had an update and it is now even MORE difficult. It is hard to get back to the main page-- often have to close out the entire app to start over. You can find a diagnosis, but not the criteria together with the diagnosis. The overall 2.9 star rating is well deserved. I just wish that I hadn't paid so much for it!!!
New update makes it almost unusable. Very clunky and you have to navigate a lot more to look up diagnostic criteria. Also, not sure why it requires access to storage all of a sudden.
This app was just updated and ruined. Now you have to scroll through unnecessary material, and the text appears in single word columns, making a really poor reading experience. Please bring back the previous version or give me a refund!
Huge mistake. Big letdown. Honestly want my money back. I use this app every day in my practice and it has been absolutely ruined with this new update. Now it's full of unnecessary animations, a madenning search system, clunky navigation that wasted more and more time. Stay away!
Original version was extremely helpful and perfect for a quick review of diagnostic criteria. Updated version renders the app absolutely useless and unnavigable. If it is not rectified soon I'm going to contact the company to request a refund.
I like the old version. It is so clunky now, an example being you go to substance related disorders and you want to find Opiate use disorder. You don't see it because you have to click on one of the other opiate disorders and scroll up to find it. Very strange bring back the old version.
Was moderate to difficult to use pre-update. Post-update it is useless. I gave up after trying to access ADHD criteria (unsuccessful) and I could not find a meaningful way to navigate "back" (phone "back" button closed the app). Would love my money back.
The original app was great. This "update" is an outrage. I want a refund if the prior version is no longer available. Don't waste your money on this one and, If you have the older version, "DON'T UPGRADE. " If you haven't purchased this app, DON'T DO IT!!! It's awful and useless. This app in its current state is a piece of garbage and not worth downloading. The original version was excellent but the developers for some reason refuse to restore the prior version. DON'T GET THIS WORTHLESS APP,!!! The rating average score is shown as 3.1 which is disingenuous and deceptive . Since the new version came out, there have been 24 reviews that calculate to an average score of 1.17. The 3.1 figure is a lie.
Very difficult to use and no bargain for the price. Hard to figure out website navigation. I was hoping for an improved update after all these years and disappointed not to find one.
Would be a great reference if the UI wasn't so buggy and hard to navigate. Looking up a specific disorder can be a pain and the spacing / presentation of the info can get jumbled and hard to read easily.
This app really went downhill after updating. The search feature is awful, even after the so called improvement with the July 30th update. It takes too long to search for a disorder, and the first result is usually the name of the disorder with a code, and not a description. It's actually faster to use a DSM-5 book. It's a shame they ruined the original app by making the user experience worse rather than better.
I dislike this version very much. It is not as easily searchable and you must scroll through everything to find Anything. I was very happy with They previous v Version which was very efficient.
Worst app ever that has worsened over time. It's take no less than 5min to load any text. If I ordered a paper copy and got delivered from Amazon, would be faster than the speed of processing of this app.
Did work fine until last update. But I'm still waiting for the fix. Up to now the app even doesn't launch any more on my 7.0 Android device 😡!!! PS. I dropped a line to the developer, nothing happened so far. 👎 Silence for months !!! No refund either.
When I open the app it is stuck on notice regarding notifications. Can't do anything or close it. Was refused a refund.
App is frozen. I have Uninstalled and reinstalled a bunch of times but it won't go past a notification screen. It used to work great.
New user interface is much worse than before, (which is quite an achievement considering how it used to be). The update is essentially trying to stuff the HTML version onto your phone without any kind of thought into the user interface. Annoying, baffling, unintuitive, harder to find information. Do not buy until it has been totally revamped. Far easier to look at Wikipedia.
