10/2:updated version recognized k2 hardware. I like the ability to see app permissions and get notifications of app activity. I hope dtek reliably works in the future. This h/w problem seems to have bit BB devices before. Out of the box from BlackBerry this pre-installed software fails to recognize Key2 hardware. Would uninstall if that were possible.
Installed to this latest update and it resolved the issues like not blackberry device, system integrity compromised, etc. But it came back this morning again like you may not be using blackberry device, your device is running a version not suitable for BlackBerry, unable to verify integrity of operating system and trusted app sites. Can this be fixed.
Today is January 17, 2022. This is a great Application, especially for the BlackBerry Key2. I've used it on my previous BlackBerry Key2 purchased about a year ago, and it worked fine (with Excellent Device Status). However, if you have just purchased a new BlackBerry Key2 phone (after October 2021) - from an authorized dealer - you will receive a POOR Device Status on DTEK no matter what solution you pursue, because the App has not been updated. I have a Brand New BlackBerry BF100-2 (purchased about a week ago) and, even after Factory Reset, DTEK shows that the Device and Operating System are "unsecure." This App needs to be updated and it would be great if BlackBerry would do this so we can all keep using BlackBerry and DTEK. BlackBerry continues to be the best cellular device on the market and I am confident they will do the DTEK update. Thank you!
Good idea, but the implementation could use some work. I'm glad I found out about Google's insidious backdoor that lets YouTube eavesdrop through the microphone even though it doesn't have permission to use the microphone. I DON'T need a notification every time my Calendar app accesses my calendar.
was good until the update on the priv. Now says i may not be using a blackberry device and integrity are marked yellow. (not bad for a $800 device, right? lol) its the newest update and i followed the directions below to fix it, (airplane, reset, check dtek etc) still the same readings, been almost 6 days. Needs to be fixed. UPDATE :JAN 24, Still reads the same thing. what a POS app
Comprehensive. Complete. Simple. Lightweight. Wish it were available on other devices and modern Android builds. Seems as if BB is in a further back-slide. Too bad.
It's okay I guess. Keeps reporting unused permissions on my contacts and SMS when both are used on a regular basis each day. Not sure just how reliable DTEK is when it consistently keeps misreporting this nonexistent issue.
Good, but sometimes notifies me of apps accessing permissions that have had those permissions turned off in the Android settings. So I'm not sure what the is really happening and who is at fault (DTEK or the app(s))
App is annoying and essentially useless. And most notifications can't be controlled, so really annoying that it makes audible notifications at random times and i can't control them. If i could uninstall this i would.
One of the best blackberry apps, behind only the Hub. Simple, useful & well designed. Love the new battery savings mode that was recently added, keep improving as best as possible
I have a BlackBerry Key2 dual SIM and since I opened it from box dtek doesn't recognize neither my device or the OS. My wife has the Key2 regular SIM and dtek doesn't work either. We have less than a month since we bought and not even the last update fixed the problem. Same problem the Dtek 50 and 60 models had. Don't know what to do anymore. We are very frustrated
Cannot sign in BlackBerry Mobile account in order to use the 'factory reset protections' and 'remote management' function. Keeps getting 'incorrect phone number format' error. No option to sign up using emails address or through desktop either.
This app uses so much of my battery power, up to 25% at any given time, I've had to uninstall it. However, you can't completely remove the app. It remains on the phone in some form even after it's uninstalled.
Amazing app HOWEVER for some reason the app is giving me a device warning setting saying that my hardware might not be blackberry and the OS might not be designed for blackberry. I have a blackberry keyone and i only update through android update so idk why it is saying this.
this app tells me that i dont have passwords and Google security updates. But so what? Who cares about security when Google forces BB to make an updates that makes my phone run at a snails pace since Mar 2019 update. Contacts is 200% slower. SMS messages do not open in BB Hub. Search in BB Hub does not search anymore!! i would give a zero star but they dont have it.
Useful app that becomes obnoxious with the alerts. There is no way to disable the 'Your device status is excelllent' alert. Such a useless alert as well. No way to disable this app on my phone as well.
As far as previous versions, DTEK had worked OK, but this time it shows POOR status with Device, OS and OS integritz warnings... I liked the app in the past, but this error needs to be dealth with...
Program is reading Poor. Have the latestest version installed. Why do I have to do ANOTHER factory RESET to fix. I was a Blackberry user for along time. Once this phone dies or I've had enough of its quirks, its by, by Blackberry
Worthless marketing gimmick, as far as I can tell. Occasionally it runs itself, then tells me that it doesn't know whether my stock Blackberry Priv is a Blackberry, which doesn't fill me with confidence that anything else it has to say is of any value.
I am using the DTEK app on my BlackBerry PRIV, and I'd like to report a bug. I'm using a password for my screen lock. This is recognized properly by the DTEK app, and I get an all-green excellent rating. However, once I enable the "Picture Password" feature (on top of the character password), DTEK decreases my security rating a bit, showing the following yellow recommendation: "Data encryption: Data on your device is encrypted, but secure start-up is turned off". The phone does still ask for the password to be typed in before it will start, so I think this is a false warning. Can you please fix it?
