I really enjoy this game. After two weeks and seeing my 3-Back performance improving, I had to buy it and make it mine. Just a quick editorial comment. I read other reviewers (not mentioned to protect their identity) mention the game switching from 3-Back to 2-Back, &c., and someone asking about the "chunking" strategy. Neuroplasticity works best when the gameplay is dynamic, as per memory performance. I know one of the developers mentioned chunking is good; true, only when accuracy is low :)
The tutorial is extremely unclear. I really don't understand how the game is played. I thought I played correctly and it showed I missed a ton of squares. Are you looking at sets of 2,3,4 etc and going back one by one to see if they match as you progress through the game? I would watch a square blink wait 2 squares for a blink and decide... And so on. Where does the next square start???
Needs to have an option to disable auto down for levels. I need to get better at that level, which isn't gonna happen if the game keeps on dropping me to a lower level when I perform badly at a certain level.
I don't know why this guy has so much negative feedback. The app is great! Just one thing would make it better if you could mix more colours in dark mode .It needs a bit more variety of colours like you got that green on white contrast maybe get blue or orange on black.
Great mind training app. However, i wish there was control over the pace/speed. Also, manual control over the levels because if for example it keeps switching between 2 and 3, it really messes up your mind.
I would like this game so much more if I could choose what n equals instead of it moving me up just to move me down. At least let me complete more than one game on that level before you consider it mastered. The bouncing back and forth takes the fun out of it and I've already gotten rid of this game after less than a day.
really challenging, but everytime I play I definitely feel like I get better at it. I wish you could make the voice a little higher for when you don't have headphones and are in a public place its almost impossible to play.
It took me a while to stabilise on a level ( ~ 4.x ). I decided to put in a minimum of 50 games/day. My average has started increasing again after 4-5 days. I am working on accuracy and mental endurance. Possible ideas (1) Vary the layout (2) Incorporate a mental math puzzle that only displays the question&numbers briefly with configurable time to respond (3) Option to get mid-game distractions - ie. deal with then return?
The gameplay seems simple enough on paper and it would be if the tutorial was much more clear on it. Not only does the game expect too much from the player, but the gimmick is not something that really impacts your memory or intelligence too much. It would have made more sense for players to recognize sequences based on letters and square positions, instead of having to figure out pairs that aren't pairs at all. So really the game comes off pretentious at best, and guilt tripping at worst.
I appreciate this, but it needs some refinement: • There's no feedback as you play. I thought it didn't work on my device. The buttons should highlight when tapped. • The instructions were obviously written by someone who couldn't imagine what it was like _not_ to understand the game. (This is why developers use technical writers—they can describe the process of learning the product.) And all caps? Hard to read, looks like shouting. With these improvements, it'd be great.
I' m not givin more stars as of yet because I've barely played the game. Yet so far so good. Gud aesthetics, reasonably minimalist without compromise on the basic requirements, nd I like the feedback style (categorised mistakes -helpful, brings more clarity on what's going wrong) .. bt it's still too early 2 tell. Now, the thing is i've been tryin to share it on my laptop but to no avail. (It's Premium)And , I need some help here. Gud work though .😊
Youre forced to play how the game wants you to play, theres no settings, not even to choose what n value you want to try. im tired of having to retry n=3 which is easy for me just because n=4 is what I need to work on. It does what it says and is helpful for training working memory but theres no customization at all.
Best app for dual nback so far. Design and implementation are good. What's wrong with the people in the feedbacks? They find the dumbest excuses to give low ratings. Why do you say that the app is good but "I like it but I will give one star as I barely played it yet"? Why is that supposed to be useful? The app is great. And very simple as it supposed to be. Thanks, Mikko. I wish you a snowy winter this year ;)
Hey the game is fun, two days and I'm at 3 trying to reach 4. Only thing bothering is the screen keeps rotating even when the device is portrait locked. Can't play while lying sideways. The app is lit otherwise. Godspeed to dev 👍🏿
So much more well-polished than other dual n-back apps. The UI and the audio quality are way better than that of other apps that pop up when you search for dual n-back.
Will give 4 stars. Because there are ads and those interrupts my gameplay experience and I don't like that about it. Except that, everything else is fine. Improving my brain is in progress.
Its interesting, addictive and productive compared to most apps on your phone. Ironically the app doesn't remember the level I was on before rebooting my phone...The ads are slightly annoying but I suppose the devs have to "get them dollah bills" for their efforts.
Cant handle the voice used, its dragged out. Dont like the screen, its not full screen and there is a black square in the middle making it 8 positions instead of nine. The settings screen has one setting on it. This app is not sophisticated enough.
Updated review and once worked out how to ask the dev a question will email them. Nice clean interface and audio, however it is annoying bouncing from N2 to N3, If this app offers (even on a paid pro version) being able to stay on one level, ie N2 or N3 in order to practice: this would be the best overall n back game available. Better than dual n back pro!
Good brain exercise but I can't choose the difficulty. Every time I lose, It makes me play the previous level.
Really nicely put app. But it could be improved to include more things like images, human facial expressions, colours to be more flexible to include 3nback ,4n back etc
Please add speed control. I.E: User presses next after each tuple (sound, sight) input. That will make this good. Also add option to remove it, if someone also wishes to increase speed. Usually, beginners will do better with positive contol with themselves.
I do not recommend this app to you personally. I am saying this because recently I have downloaded this app and this is my 3rd day. But I am having so much pain in my head. Water is coming out from my eyes. I am not having proper sleep and I am feeling stressed. This is scientificially proven way to make you intelligent?
Incredibly satisfying!! Must recommend to anyone who wants to improve fluid intelligence! I have already recommend to all of my classmates. Keep improving and we'll support you👍
Great app, except for the part where it keeps repeating the letter k. It's not funny.
This game is great at first i didnt understand so i failed alot of times As of now am good at it just after five mins of reading the help info am wining non stops and it keeps my mind in thinking alot so am sure am improving my IQ Thanks to the developer of this game
Question about strategising. Is the following is actually a strategy and do I need to avoid it? Let N = 3, the game starts. I need to memorize a chunk of 3-inputs ([a,b,c]) and then match incoming inputs with memorized one, simultaneously filling a new 3-input ([c, b (hit button), c (hit button)]). Than forget previous 3-input ([a,b,c]) and compare new inputs with just memorized ([c, b, c]) and so on. Is it OK to do so, or I actually need to just answer intuitively? This "strategy" is valid for all N and it's making task a lot easier for me, because it is easier to go from chunk to chunk than trying to remember what was N steps before every new input.
