DuckDuckGo Search & Stories

Not bad and I'd like to use it more but it needs a way of protecting some tabs/bookmarks/favourites of retaining data (I play some games that keep a running score.) It also needs a way of clearing tabs without losing data as well as clearing tabs while protecting some(ie not closing or deleting data); the alternative is to manually close all the tabs that you don't want which can be a pain when you have scores open.

Problem with this app and many others is, the data is used when you are not on Wifi! Unknown to me. It is automatically turned on till you realize it and are lucky enough to be able to find where, on each app, to turn it off! I don't have a data plan nor do I want one! Data has been running on many of my apps causing me to have a huge bill. SCAM of all times on apps!

I appreciate the privacy aspects. It lacks a few settings options that would make it better suit me. I dislike that I can't make the the toolbar always visible. And please let me turn off refreshing the page via scrolling, I absolutely despise this feature. Not having a history is odd, but not necessarily bad. Sometimes crashes for no reason, or won't load pages that work in other browsers, stating an error (invalid response).

I have been using the site for a short time; but I like it so far. I feel protected while online. Thank You for that. As of May 19, 2022, I'm still using the app and I like it. However, there are times when I search a website and try to go to other pages/sections on that site I get the error page that says "WEB PAGE UNAVAILABLE". Ex., I searched CHEBULA OIL; main/home page popped up fine. But when I clicked a specific topic on the menu the error page popped up "WEB PAGE UNAVAILABLE".

Wonderful app ! I think the DuckDuckGo browser is the best browser out there ! I can't get out of incognito mode, though. I don't even see any options. Please help. Also, I love being able to choose the color of the icon, but can't change it on the search tool bar. I would appreciate your feedback. Those two issues are bothering me, but even so... They are such petty issues, compared to other browsers, this app, has no competitor browser, that even comes close to it. Thank you.

I have liked this app for a while. Lately there seem to be new glitches with various pages. Some "fireproofed" sites don't preserve login information and won't load the login page, some photos won't load on pages, infinity feeds fail to load, etc. Not sure if it's the page or the browser's fault but I don't seem to have these problems in other browsers. I like the tracker listing, the ability to start clean sessions, and ddg has the best image search results. Please fix the new issues!

It's alright. Search engine seemingly ingores quotation marks and booleans, doesn't return accurate results even for their own properties. Privacy grade is effectively useless - even the site *giving out the grades*, TOSDR, gets a B? For real? Can't swipe between tabs, and the tab interface is clunky. Still giving it 3 stars because the concept and goals behind the project are good - it's just kind of a second or third rate product, currently.

I've grown accustomed to this wonderful app. It's nice knowing I'm surfing safer. I love the "fire" cleaning graphics if you want to clear your history. The image search engine is great. It let's you choose the quality of photos AND whether they are tall, square, or wide. It let's you choose content of searches by offering moderate, strict, or unrestricted. It allows you a list of fonts and sizes to use. Its a fitting replacement for Google. It's a great app from people who care about privacy.

Easy to use lots of privacy features, the email forwarding is awesome! The only downside I have is that when downloading files if they don't pop up in the download manager you have no idea if they are downloading or not. If they can add some kind of download manager to the app or at least a plug-in as I'm having to use ADM, Anroid Download Manager, clicking open just once a million times.

Uninstalled Chrome & went for it. Not disappointed. I noticed passwords still get saved to Google, which was disappointing, but speaks more to the sleazy underworld of android OS. Still better then the days Bill Gates forced IE down every user's throat. Thanks for bringing choice back into the mix DuckDuckGo. Only feature I'm missing, as a full-time RVer who plans trips a year out, the ability to give a unique name to a page shortcut saved to my home screen. Still a happy camper though. Thanks!

I hope you can add an option to open bookmarks in the same tab instead of opening a new tab for each bookmark. It just becomes annoying when you want to open several websites one after another. And if there are many tabs opened, low-end phones become stutter and unresponsive from time to time. I think all other browsers have this option by default and it's really convenient. Thank you.

Reduced rating from 5 to 3. Somewhere in the last few updates the "close tabs on exit" changed. Previously you could switch to another app and back with tabs still open. Tabs were not closed unless you removed the app from the recents list. Now, if the app loses focus in any way all tabs are closed. Truly annoying if you are on a web page, want to switch to a notepad app to make note, then switch back.

It's a great app, I only have one complaint and it's a big one. Whenever you try to reorganize or even just scroll through your bookmarks the app crashes. Every damn time, with no exceptions and on both of the bookmark pages(the one in a new tab and the one on the sidebar.)

I'm still getting used to the search results, how it's layed out. I love this app!! I feel more secure on it. I recently had to change phones so I lost my app tracker blocker, but I'm in line for it. I loved that too!! Very nice addition. AND!!I didn't know how nosey they were on apps either!! There's trackers on everything. EV-vERrrYTHIiiiINnnG!!! (Try to sound like woody from trying story) So, yes I am very happy with the app. Good work and thank you so much!!

Search results need to be refined. Sometimes I know what should show up, but it does not, whereas Google, for example, finds it. I would not swap with it anyway. Swapping between languages for displaying the results: I navigate between English, German and Italian, but only two of them appear in the drop down menu "filter by region". It would be nice to have all three (or whatever else) languages "remembered", without having to search for them.

Very Good Experience. I have used the app for a week and have noticed the powerful privacy features in the browser that are smoothly integrated into the normal operation of the app. Also, the activities of it's many privacy and security features are represented in a sleek way visually letting you know what is happening in the app. This version of the app is a huge evolution from their old browser. 5 stars!

Does what it claims, fàst, easy, and seems to be the most secure free browser I've used. All the security tools etc, operate in the background. The minimal work in "settings" is testament to ease of use. Almost don't need a VPN, but if they offer it in the future, would trust enough to pay for it.

Very clean interface. The fire option is great, I can clear out cookies easily. Search results are closer to what I WANT to see and less of what the app THINKS I SHOULD see. There are more sites with variety, also. I appreciate clean ads. I value the privacy. As with most search engines, getting back the exact same search if you lose the first one doesn't happen. Not sure why, but some sites aren't supporting the app security-wise, stating it is too old.

It still lacks forward-thiking features, but after experiencing how it works, I would definitely recommend this browser. So far, it's demonstrated that it's safe, and I believe it's trustworthy. I look forward to features being added that integrates a built-in map, email address, cloud service, and a social media platform. Basically, what I'm saying is I want an "all in one" browser. I'm looking for a browser that will complete head-to-head with the likes of MS and google.

This app used to be great. However, in the last few weeks it has started to close itself down spontaneously, multiple times, every day. I've reported the problem to them, and I'm hoping they speedily release a bug fix to fix the bug they've introduced! If not, I'll uninstall the app - it's so frustrating to be looking at something completely innocuous and the app suddenly shuts itself down!!

It's a great app when I want to search or browse without being bothered by trackers. I gave it 4 stars only because I run into so many Captchas but I guess it's a small inconvenience. The Email Protection is perfect for my needs! I love the App Trackers program except that I have an icon stating it's using my battery. I have to turn it off at times, like before storms to conserve battery power. Other than that, it's a Pleasure! Thanks for the hard work.
