I like this app and it's my primary way to use this (still valuable) Netflix service. I have two developer requests: 1) when changing the order of a film in queue, make the entry field automatically gain "focus" so I don't have to tap it first to enter a number. And 2) show what format the disc is available in further up (close to the top) on the title's page.

Movie library is huge. Nice to not have to pay rental fees on Amazon for new releases. I used to have this year's ago and shipping was fast. Now I'm lucky to get two movies a week. It almost never comes on a weekend Friday/Saturday, even when sending out on a Monday. Very disappointed on the slow shipping.

There's no better way to see movies than Netflix's old school DVD-by-mail service -- the exponentially more generous copyright law that applies to DVDs permits an infinitely richer library, and the one-to-five star rating system enables a discerning user to find much better matched from the library -- and the DVD Netflix app lets you find, order, and rate the DVDs you want mailed to your (US) address. Sadly, this service has slowly been shrinking since its 2011 peak, but it's still glorious.

It's really not great. The customer service is by phone only and if you get a movie that doesn't play right then you basically just wanted your rental time with no refund. They wait till you mail it back like any other movie and don't credit you anything or ship a new movie faster.

I thought the update was supposed to fix the problem now the app won't open at all I tried deleting and reinstalling the app and it didn't help

I love the app, but when I got an error, I didn't know why. The error for trying to add MORE THAN 500 movies to the queue should be "only 500 movies are allowed in the queue".

This app is user friendly. The graphic layout is A+. It's so much more than what I expected; however, the section labeled 'cast and crew' is lacking. Also, you seemed to have removed the previews from the DVDs. Why? I looked forward to the previews. It was my way of selecting my next movie. Once I empty my que, I'll probably cancel my subscription.

Cannot log on since Android 10. Update, very quickly fixed issue. Overall I like the app. Only way to get a lot of titles since they don't have them on streaming. Something has changed in my area as if I returned DVD on Monday a new DVD would arrive by Wednesday. Now it comes in Friday, so the value has dropped a lot. Other times they will say they are waiting on an item and don't ship when I have at least 150 items on my list at all times. Still the best way to find a lot of content.

As far as managing your queue, this does the job. It's major drawback is that the app as generic image placeholders instead of video artwork. This severely compromises it's usefulness as you can't identify the movie(s) without tapping the placeholder. This bug had been present for weeks. Update: Figured it out. Netflix doesn't like VPNs. Turned it off and it works.

It's a pretty good app, but I have a few suggestions that I think would really make it outstanding. First, there ought to be some way to see what DVDs in the queue are also available via streaming. Second, if I'm looking at a DVD's page it would be nice if I could set it's position in the queue without having to try to find it in the queue. Otherwise, I love the convenience of renting movies by mail and this app makes it pretty to convenient to see what's coming next and search for titles to add

This app is the perfect movie library assistant. I love it! In the "search" you can look for a movie, it gives you information about the movie, its format (if it's DVD or Blu-ray), the characters, rating of the movie given by other members, you can add it to your queue of movies with just one click of a button, and asks you if you want it sent to the top of your queue of movies. Then, you can review your queue and update as your impulsive clicking gets better. At one point I had 355 movies!

This app has always worked well. I used to live in the same city as a distribution center so even the 1-at-a-time plan had a pretty quick turnaround time. Now I live a little farther away and don't have a job so I'm cancelling to save the money. I wish $5 a month wasn't such a big deal to me right now, then I would just bump my plan up, to get more discs at a time. The selection is really good if you like older movies but I've never seen the Netflix originals available here, which would be nice

Got the DVD plan for movies that aren't on Netflix or are hard to find in general, and for movie nights at other people's houses. Wish it would say if the movie's already on Netflix streaming. The DVDs ship pretty fast. Takes about 4 days after returning for the next one to arrive. Only had trouble a few times, but it's usually the post office losing a DVD or giving it to a neighbor. Once it was a damaged DVD. Issues like that are easy to fix. Just report the issue, and they send a new DVD.

Extremely frustrating to navigate. No page back feature when using search function. Must start over 'every time' you select a movie to research an actor or genre. Start over, really? And who says I was using my phone? My iPad doesn't have a page back feature. You assume I'm using a phone by your response, so must rely on the devices to page back, not the app! Again extremely frustrating, instead of fixing this, blame it on the user like you always do. Unfortunately, stuck with it.

I just unsubscribed. I delt with this horrible service too long. I've been with Netflix for 6 years and the very slow delivery system is horrendous. It was awesome at the beginning, but it slowly got really bad. I paid for 3 movies at a time. I was lucky to get 3 a month. Now, each movie I got, I returned the next day and it'll take about 2 weeks to get another one. Everything is either "short or long wait" times. No more!! I'm going back to Red box

Jef. S. Oct 31, 2020

I'm about this close 🤏 to canceling my subscription. I have this subscription because I like older movies and literally every other movie skips back multiple scenes and will not play without me skipping ahead and searching back to get as close as I can to where the disk screwed up. What is my compensation for putting up with multiple disks not playing properly? Nothing. "We'll send you your next pick. And thanks for your continued payment."

Sus. V. Jan 9, 2021

Appreciate that Netflix still does DVDs, especially as streaming services no longer allow one to watch favorites over & over. Plus streaming services are now charging movie fees, sometimes quite steep, on top of subscription fees. Netflix provides movies that are no longer available to watch, but that but are important in film history. DVDs are in very good shape & arrive quickly.

I got this because of the fact that it had content not found easily or at all anywhere else when I had limited channels where I was staying. Was working great, but when many of the DVDS they sent were defective and wouldn't even play I moved and couldn't find the last one I was sent. If you have limited TV, it's great and DVDS came AMAZINGLY fast. I have found the DVD and have to cancel it! Been months I haven't used it but have continued to pay for it..my bad for being too busy to get it done!

Excellent App, smarter than I am! Never had a problem in Six (6) years of use on two separate Android Smartphones. Samsung Galaxy and now using Google Android Nexus 6p Smartphone. Both work well with DVD.netflix App. Guides my way to BluRay Heaven! Updated: 22 April 2022

They don't care, so why should you? I've been using Netflix dvd for years and the quality of their service has been in decline. - They've stopped displaying "coming soon" titles. Now it requires work on my part to search websites so find out netflix dvd release dates. - I pay a little extra for blu-ray discs. But this stupid app defaults all Disc adds to the queue in DVD FORMAT, not blu-ray, which I pay a premium for. You have to remember to switch it manually to blu-ray.

xli. Apr 4, 2020

I'm speaking about the app itself, not the service (which also has declined immensely by the way.) *It's really slow. *If I were to type something in the search, it jumps all the way back to the home screen. *When I select New Release or Coming soon it buffers so long, hence it's slow. *Ok I can't resist mentioning it, but delieveries of the DVDs take forever nowadays, hence it's slow... My personal recommendation for all, just use your internet browser instead. Gonna uninstall this app.

Dia. B. Aug 12, 2021

You can't type in the number you want a movie to be in your queue anymore in the app. You can only drag and drop. You're lucky if they have what you want. TV shows, if complete, will likely be a mix of DVD and blu-ray. Far too many titles that go straight to your saved section because they don't actually have them. If you don't have them they need to be removed from your site. Years ago nf was the place to go to get hard to find titles. Not anymore. One week turnaround is super slow.

Rus. L. Sep 12, 2019

I've never had a problem with any discs. I've always received discs with a one day turn around, if I mail it on Tuesday and first thing in the morning on Wednesday I get a notification that my disc was received, the next one in my queue has been mailed and I receive it on Thursday. My only issue is with ME... the last disc I had sat in the player for a little more than a year until I finally watched it. So, I basically paid for a service for a year that I didn't need to. Luckily, i watch enough Netflix (as do my authorized accounts) to make the payment worthwhile. The only thing I think DVD/Netflix needs to worry about is pricing with the impending entrance to the market of Disney and Apple and of course the continued "threat" of Amazon's Prime. DVD/Netflix may be pricing itself out of the market it once dominated.

This app worked well for about a year. Now it won't open. I un-installed it, reinstalled it and it still doesn't work.

Cas. D. Oct 7, 2018

I had this back when it first started. You could get 6 movies out at a time plus streaming included for under 20 bucks a month. Now trying it again I'm highly dissatisfied. I sent a movie back Thursday and they still haven't processed it. I understand about the one I sent back Friday, but if sent Thursday it should have been received already and I should be getting at least one movie on Saturday. It's taking too long to send me movies and the new packages are way overpriced compared to what the used to be. You guys shut down most video stores with your affordable prices and wonderful selection and then started price gouging! Shame on you.

Mat. W. Jun 25, 2021

I just started my 30 day free trial and I am already extremely impressed. The app is modern and easy to use. If you are a movie buff like myself you should already know what's coming out and all you have to do is search for it and add it to your queue. I already received my first discs in just 2 days!!! Being a member of this service brings back so many great memories and if this high level of satisfaction continues, I look forward transitioning from a free member to a lifetime subscriber.

A. G. u. Mar 5, 2019

It's ok. Easy to access my Queue, but not easy to look through what is avalable because the movie icons are way to big. Would be nice if you could just have a text list, but because of the dumbing down of all the internet pages, prbably not likely. I go to my desktop to see more information.

I love my DVD Netflix! Huge selection far better than Netflix's streaming! I've been a member of DVD Netflix for over 15 years.
