This app is terrible. It constantly crashes. It never just opens up but crashes about 6 times before finally opening. Theres not much else you can do besides view your cameras, because there are no controls for your cameras (although I do have a pretty old system so that's probably a personal issue) but if you were to try and search back to a particular time, good luck. It really needs to be updated in the worst way.
App needs updating. One of my cameras periodically has gray screen but they look fine on the computer hard wired to them. It has to be a problem with the app as it corrects itself a few days later. I can't figure out why. App is very outdated and has very few features. Difficult to impossible to use the search on a cell phone. Fairly time consuming to search even on a computer. Would be nice if it was easier to take still photos off video and easier to save segments of video.
Like many are saying, many issues. Connected fine when on same network. Had problems with connecting when on a different network. Apparently the correct IP is not passed to the program. I change the IP address from my local IP number to my network address. This allows the app to see the cameras. Apparently the app is not using the DDNS address correctly. If the address is static this works fine, if not you will need to change it each time it is changed by the ISP.
This app need an update. It keeps saying no network connection. It keeps closing and you can't even navigate the page w/o it closing on you. This is not fair for business and customers of those business if they can't even open the app to look at the cameras. I want to see my dog at daycare and I can't bc this app is Junk. Hasn't been updated in years and it warns you when you install it. And why does it need all these damn permissions? You don't need my media file or my contact info.
VMAX is very unstable on my Samsung Galaxy Note20 Plus. It will load then turns off in a few seconds while trying to view the cameras of activity outside, and I have to reload the cameras in order to view anything longer than a few seconds. Sometimes the App starts flickering; or, flipping on and off, while I'm viewing other online activity and I can't stop it from happening without restarting my phone.
Digital watchdog is way behind the competition and needs to get it together. I've been installing their DVRs for nearly 10 years, and the app has hardly changed a bit. It's so outdated it's pathetic, I can't sell this garbage to my customers
All I can do with this app is look at cameras. Screens will not zoom or inlarge when rotating. App locks up after a minute so i have to look quick at live feed only. Unable to edit or aearch back without locking up.
It was wonderful. After 11 years my DVR was old and the static IP wouldn't work with the new Comcast Dynamic IP router. A new DVR fixed everything and now I use the DW mobile plus app. Back to WONDERFUL!
I cannot get the search button to bring up results on certain cameras. The camera "views" jump around, it is frustrating. And the email address listed below doesn't work.
app keeps on saying "unfortanately...stopped". installed and uninstall repeatedly but no avail. at first it worked out well, but after a day, it's going crazy.
Freezes up on new androids. Can't move cameras around like your suppose to be able to. Needs to be updated for newer phones. Worked fine on Note 5 but not on Note 8. Works on my son's iPhone but won't in mine
This app now just keeps crashing, no updates on this to resolve either. Very disappointing!
Works but gives a message saying it was designed for an older version of Android and may not work properly. Seems to work ok though.
Go download the DW Mobile App, it works. This app is unusable, hasn't been updated in 4 years. Android users can't keep the app open long enough to even see their cameras.
App keeps crashing when its supposed to be on, then locks up my android phone when I exit the app. No way to update or fix it.
This app is required for my job but is literally unusable. Crashes within 10 seconds of opening 95% of the time. Zero functionality.
This app is non-functional. The app often stalls and does not have a functioning clock once I click on any of my cameras.
App constantly closes every time I try to view my cameras. A lot of money is spent on the cameras for them not to work right on new androids. Developer refuses to fix the issue..
Slow load and almost never shows anything. Usually a back screen. Wont load.
Been using this app for over three years and the last two knox updates on my s9+ have stopped the app from opening and connecting to the internet.
I had an icon on home screen 2 weeks ago but now I have to open app thru play store. Please fix!! I use this at work and sometimes need access quickly .
Horrible app, keeps crashing, try to check SECURITY cameras and you CANT SEE NOTHING!! Hate this app, as a security professional it is turning my company away from Digital Watchdog.
playback bar keeps disappearing 2 seconds after i summon it. can not control playback. Samsung s9 plus

Same problem others are citing: the App constantly closes shortly after opening it, and it is taxing my phone battery as a result.
I'm using an s9 plus and the program seems to work as expected. It did warn me upon installation that it was designed for an older version of android but that doesnt appear to impact performance. I was able to view live feeds with ease (depending on the speed of the network I connected to of course) and search without any trouble. I read the other reviews and I suspect network speed is an issue, maybe. As for crashing, I haven't experienced that yet.
