The Dwelo app can sense when you've left: the lights go off, the thermostat adjusts to an efficient setting, and the door locks
- just in case you forgot! Is your apartment already Dwelo-enabled? Download the app! Not yet? Visit getdwelo.com and learn how your landlord can get Dwelo for your building.

Door locks and A/C control installed in my apartment yesterday. No problem with the locks but I do have an issue with the A/C control. The app is stuck on 70 degrees inside my unit when the temperature was actually 66 degrees. It has been consistently wrong since installation. If I have to get out if bed to see what the actual temperature is, what's the point of having the app? Already off to a terrible start and it's only been 1 day. Not good....

Not working suddenly? So the online tool works just fine, but the app can't detect a device for some reason. I tried reinstalling, but it still won't connect. Kind of useless if I can't access it from my phone.... Edit: I was contacted promptly and the dev team is working on fixing a bug where Android users don't have device connection. They're keeping me posted and gave me some options to access the device from my computer or phone browser in the meantime. Great service. Changed from 2 stars.

Slow and a lot of bugs. Half the time I can't get it to work through the app. For a smart home system, it sure lacks a lot of things that most other smart home systems have. You think you could at least have a schedule for the thermostat. But no. I have to go in the app (that barely works) to set to away, home, or goodnight. Most of the time I just leave at "home" whether or not if gone or at home in bed.

Can't set a heating/cooling schedule. Can't trust the statuses on the app. Can't rely on it to respond to the commands from the app. Requires a hardware reset frequently. Really not impressed. Update: In addition to the previously mentioned problems, when it fails to respond to phone commands, the actual physical heating and cooling control on the wall won't respond to direct changes, either, often lasting upwards of ten minutes.

This is a remote control at best and that's when it's actually working. Their description of the app says it's "automated". Typically something that is automated is able to be programmed and executes without user input. There is nothing really to program, you can't set the HVAC to turn on/off at any time to a set temp, nor set lights to go on/off at any set times. You also can't set your own door keycode.

App does not function properly. You have to refresh the screen every time you change temperature settings. Latest upgrade doesn't seem to work for setting temperature control and the previous version wasn't much better. Not sure i trust it to change my entry code at this point. If i wasn't forced to use Dwelo by my property management I would not.

The app works well enough. While there is a bit of delay unlocking/locking my door, it is to be expected. HOWEVER, my apartment complex uses this for our Heat/AC and the fact that you can't set schedules for the temp to automatically adjust to is shocking. I don't want to open this app several times a day to change the temp, I want a schedule that does it automatically. Add that and 5 stars

Product doesn't work reliably. The user interface is clear and easy to use; unfortunately the associated Dwelo system is so unreliable as to render the whole concept pointless. If one uses the app to turn lights on and off, unlock doors etc. but then finds these changes haven't been made, what's the purpose?

Was working OK until I went in to it tonight and the feature to lock or unlock my door is gone. Tried closing out a few times and refreshing and it doesn't bring it back. EDIT: this was back in July and no answer still. Now the thermostat doesn't work anymore and they took away most of my lights as an option. I wish my apartment complex didn't make this required in my rent. It 100% is not worth it and if you have the choice don't use them!! I hope landlord's see this and find another service.

Cool when it works, but rarely does work. It turns things on and off, but the status in the app will be wrong. Door unlock code is finicky. Thermostat has said its 71 in my apartment since March. Hopefully they update soon because it sorely needs it. I don't think they care much though. Apartments will get it just so they can say they have "smart apartments".

After talking with Dwelo technical support, they are working on including a device schedule feature for the app. The tech support staff member, Jacob, was fantastic to work with and talk to. If thermostat scheduling comes around, this is a 5 star experience. The smart locks and smart lights work as expected and have had very few issues other than connectivity (which is a problem with the apartment building and not Dwelo hub or app).

allow us to set schedules and give us notifications. we should be able to set the temps and lights throughout the day. and be notified if something is turned on or or or unlocked so we're aware. why does it not work with Google home? why can it not be reached? this app is trash. the system isn't much better. the only good thing about it is that it can be used with Google home. voice controls when i get home or in bed. but now that doesn't even work

Kind of buggy and bland.. Never had a smart home system before so what it does do is cool, but it's quite buggy and doesn't work right very often.. Also it's pretty bland, you'd think there would be more features, like scheduled settings. All in all I'd be pretty content with it if it just worked right most the time. I don't imagine this company gets much buisness from people actually choosing it over another smarthome system, mostly just from deals they got from large apartment complexes.

At best the Dwelo app is semi functional. Generally it's wrong about the status of devices and responds poorly. For me, the most worrisome aspect is that in 3 months of use the status of my front door lock has NEVER been accurate. No kidding, the app has been 100% wrong about the lock status of my front door for 3 months, which I'm sure you can agree is problematic. Best case scenario is "meh" with Dwelo.

EDIT - Changing to 4 stars: Thanks Dwelo team for reaching out proactively after leaving the 1 star review. They replaced the hub with the next version and it is working now. The app experience needs to be better though - After changing the temperature, wait 3/4 sec for the value to be synced in the app. Shout-out to Ary for amazing support.

I'm locked out of my apt because the unlock doors will not work, I try to reconnect but the app won't let me and I tried reinstalling but it won't work either, cant contact customer service because they won't pick up their phones . Completely garbage system and now I'm late for work.

It's confusing. It shows the door lock in the open position at all times. If you click on it, door lock opens up, and it shows open on the app. if you click to close the door lock, it closes, but then again the app shows it as open. It's useless if you can't tell if your door lock is really locked or not. Duelo has contacted me but nothing has been resolved. Thanks for trying anyway Duelo.

So far so good works for me no problem I don't know what all the other negativity is all about. And if I may insert a little common sense it's always a good rule of thumb to take a key along with you just in case something goes wrong. Duh! Was having trouble with thermostat control but it has been corrected

THIS REVIEW IS FACTS, NOT OPINIONS: intermittently having issues with getting the app to function. this includes lights, fans, door lock, and thermostat. this happens regardless of being connected to my gigabit google fiber or my 4G LTE. several occasions I've found myself having to rely on my door key because the door wont unlock via dwelo.

Not seeing a single successful interacrion between the app and the connected items in my home. Manual is better if you have the ability to do so.

A. G. u. Feb 16, 2019

on par with a good undergrad CS project. every button click forces a full screen refresh/load screen and there's no concept of schedules for thermostats. compatible with google home? for 2 days, maybe, then the device has to be unlinked and re-linked. this is trash.

Ok, so this app was AWESOME in the beginning. Now, it's inconsistent. Doesn't work sitting in my apt, not far from the door. Unfortunate because I was excited about this. Such a disappointment. And there's no internet connection issues; all else on my phone works just fine and the connection is full strength. Sad.

8/5/20 Now I can't even log into the app! My user and password work on the website but not the app. 1/15/20Get ready to hard reboot the dwello hub nearly every time you want to use anything connected to it! For me, this means using a screwdriver to open a panel on the wall so the technology is next to useless. Get locked out of your apartment? Well, you can't open the lock with this because the hub inside the apartment needs a reboot and you can only do that by unplugging it.

Have an android J7 Prime, haven't been able to reconnect for months. I've checked for updates multiple times and haven't had a single one. Some reboot options through the app aren't even possible for me. I've disconnected the hub and rerouted to a different ethernet channel. Now what?

Demanding my building remove dwelo's thermostat, it's garbage. No matter what I set the AC or Heat to, via app or physically adjusting it, it randomly jumps up in temp. I set the AC on 70, 10 mins later it jumps to set as 78. Set the heat to 72 it resets as 78 or 68. Useless money pit that often makes my apartment unbearably uncomfortable. Building maintenance told me they hate the system, never works right, and dwelo support takes weeks to resolve any issues. bye bye dwelo

I have had issues with this system ever since i moved in. first the doors would not lock or unlock to the point I had to come back to my home just to check if the system accidentally unlocked my door... after they sent a tech the dwelo system stopped working with my Alexa... it has been over a month and they still "are trying to find a solution"... very bad service, not worth the money in comparison to other companies that offer the same service.

For some reason, functionality rarely and inconsistently works. Interoperability with Google Home is also very poor. Works so rarely, I just stop wasting my time with the "smart" features and only use the "dumb" features, i.e. regular light switches.

Nan. D. Mar 19, 2021

This app hasn't worked for so many months I don't remember when it worked last. Called and emailed the company numerous times, they always say it's being worked on and they don't know when it will be fixed. We pay through our apartment and have to have it and yet it never works! So frustrating

Joh. J. Oct 30, 2019

Overall Dwelo is pretty useful. There is, however, a minor aggrevation: The function to change thermostat temperature is hard to manipulate. A different slider, with easier control would be a big improvement.
