dwMaps is simply outstanding. It's transformed my running and walking by giving me turn by turn navigation on my wrist. This app is simply the companion app which is needed behind the scenes to synch routes onto your watch, but once installed you rarely need to actually open or use it as you use the dwMaps website (to plan and manage routes) and your actual navigation device (when running or walking etc). Thanks dwMaps team - I really appreciate your excellent work!
I've used dwMap free for about 7 years now.. and it's been BY FAR the best way of plotting my routes of any app I've used. I pay for Strava and use Garmin Connect, and they are AWFUL at making routes.. dwMaps maps is so seamless in comparison. Its long overdue time I gave back and got the paid version!! The £22 lifetime fee is a bargain for the ability to export/share .gpx and see elevation. *P.S you pay for the web interface functionality.. the app is useless.. which I am cool with!* Thanks :)
DWMaps is Outstanding! Log in to their website first to get an account and set things up. This app then allows you to set the active route/ride/run for your garmin watch, rename it and i think it is really worth paying the annual $10. When I create a new route or find and save one in Strava - DWMaps loads it. So useful..Never get lost!
Not meant for users who don't pay for premium. You could solve this by adding one button! The little watch icon that's on your website that tells the app which route to use. Just one button and nothing else added to the free version probably could have enticed me to pay for premium.
Disappointing. Complicated cumbersome process to just get it doing what it says it does. You install, waist time with syncing device (which requires considerable effort ... installing other app from Garmin Connect, creating password and then using a code) AND then the app is useless if you don't buy a premium version. No chance to even get a feel about what the app is for. NOT A GOOD BUSINESS making one provide information about you and device and waist time this way for nothing.
It's a bit fiddly. But does exactly what I want sending routes to the watch. Please could you provide the ability to rename the route in the app? So many of my routes are called Companion route. Being able to rename would make it easier.
Bloody useless. Access to this app is impenetrable. You can't sign up via the app you have to go to the website(s). Signing up to the help turns out to be different different to the main site, which you have to sign up to separately, and when you try to access that, it wont load. Waste of time.
Works great. Can see all previously imported / created routes from the website and can just sync one of your choice to the watch at a tap of a button. Easier than using the website for sure.
Excellent app, adding functionalities that Garmin decided not to support ot Vivoactive 3 series such as turn by turn navigation, map view etc. The only thing that I am missing is the elevation profile with current position on it.
Excellent app. 2 features would make it perfect: 1. ability to create courses while offline (i.e. offline maps). 2. ability to send courses to an Edge device running routeCourse.
I love this app! Easy routing on OSM or OSGB easy to zap to your Garmin. I use it all the time all over Europe. Learn how to use it, some people have written poor reviews because they didn't understand how it works. When you have got it, it is quick and easy.
The issue with this app is the complete lack of ground-level information. For example, you have to have an account on their website that is not linked in the play store or in the app itself. Then you learn after making an account and constructing a route that you cannot send it to your Garmin watch (the whole point of this futile enterprise for me) without being a *premium* member. If these facts had been made clear from the beginning when I was looking for map applications in the Garmin connect store, I could have been convinced to pay for the service, but after this level of concealment and general murkynees, it gets a hard uninstall from me.
Got a Garmin and trying to find anyway to create and upload a route. This app is a waste of time. It does not open as it needs an account, which you can't create as there is no option to do so. Utterly pointless waste of time.
I like using this app. Even though I have to go on the website to add my courses. But it helps for my Garmin vivoactive 3 which doesn't have a maps function. But this is totally useless when the site is down.
Won't log into Strava, receive an error. Reading reviews shows that this is not a new issue and is yet unfixed. Uninstalled. Oh well.
Not worth it unless you pay for premium. Can't create route on phone with basic account.
Great app, but things would be a lot easier if there was just a simple 'import gpx' tool included in the app. Now to load a route you have to manually create one or import a route in the browser and only then it will show up in the app. Why so cumbersome?
If I use the browser version it works. If I try to login using the mobile app and authenticate using Strava, which has been linked elsewhere successfully, I receive a code error every time and on different mobile platforms. Effectively, this mobile app is useless for me.
Connect iq says installing, then installed, but it is not present in my apps or my phones home page. After downloading from play store, I see it is actually named DynamicWatch, not DwMaps. Does not allow you to create account, requires you to provide Facebook pw.
Was working ok, but now has completely stopped. App on my Garmin has failed too. Support is great, as they are on the case.
There should be a route collections section in the app. I'll give it 3 stars, when there's a route collections page I'll give it 5 stars. Thanks!
Would not let me sign up. After multie attempts signing up through Google and strava it kept telling me "user field, "domain" "error"
Unable to open. Chose connect from Facebook like when login on web site and just got a blank screen
Just keeps coming up with an error message everytime I try to login via strava on the app.
great app! used it for my hikes on the fenix. better then the standard navigate app on the watch.
The app would be better if it allowed you to import gpx to your collection from your phone.
Login vis Strava of Facebook is not possible. Please fix this. Thank you.
Can't even login with Strava. Just get a weird error.
Great customer service. Thanks for your help guys :-)
The overall service and functionality of the website and the ConnectIQ app is fantastic. The best of all the options I tried. I can fairly easily transfer routes in my email to my garmin while straddling my bike at the meetup using my phone and the ConnectIQ app. Worth the subscription. The Android companion app leaves a bit to be desired. Clunky, somewhat hard to navigate and doesn't have all of the functionality of the website. Just going to the website on your phone gives you a much better experience with more functionality.
