e-Control

Mostly does what it promises. however the display of power usage leaves a lot to be desired. the graph (which bizarrely shows current time on the left and the past on the right) uses a 1/2 hour scale so it is impossible to see power usage of short term, high power items. it is reading the power- it shows the actual value updated every few seconds. it just does not plot it on the graph. a 'cumulative power' function which counted watts per second to give a true kWh reading would be nice.

It works well and would be good if it were not the number one app for crashing with annoying Android messages telling me it has stopped (again and again and again and . . . ) Uninstalled and reinstalled many times on Samsung Note. Always crashing as a result of some bad module running in the background. None of the many other apps I use do this. Reported many times over more than a year. Installed again. Still not fixed 🤪 Edit: now uninstalled as it's crashing is a real nuisance

Why pretend this is anything more than a basic con to sell the hardware. It would be better to use generic or open source software, as the device itself works fine. The backup option is clearly a con as it doesn't allow any backup but throws up a pointless error (something to do with a poor internet connection) to hide the inadequacy.

Intermittent reliability. Keeps failing, telling me there is no internet connection or the device is offline. My internet is working just fine and the device is online. I've set up the timer function but sometimes the light doesn't go off when it's timed to go off. Help tab goes to "404, not found" page. Frustrating and useless.

*Update 28/11 - Sending back to Amazon for a full refund, this app is so buggy its a joke and unusable * ... Dreadful app full of bugs!. The app would not connect to my WiFi at all, so I had to go into my Router and WiFi settings and set it to use only a 2.4Ghz signal instead of a 5Ghz one, set the 5Ggz signal to be disabled. Reset the router, and the app now connects to the plug first time!. I can now operate the plug in the app, however I keep getting messages now saying network not detected, and finally when exiting the app it crashes lol. In short the app is VERY poorly written, and VERY buggy at this time of writing.

Edit July 2020: I see many users having issues, I guess I'm lucky because I use this app for LAN control and the horrible IHC for cloud/remote control. This app works better than the ihc. There should be a function to share an appliance with other mobiles, Not full set. Also we need an option to change the the device assigned to an appliance. And there is a tasker plugin ❤️

Since 2020. February 26th the servers completely stopped working, not possible to login and use configurations. Because of that the remote devices are also completely useless now. This is the danger of useing cloud service based tools. I did that as a quick and dirty solution, I needed something that worked instantly. Well... Lesson learned... Never again!

The iOS version is way better. Faster and all the images and icons are stored in somewhere else that I dont need to mind about. The android version is slow and dumps more than one thousands images with all sort of channel icons, buttons, etc on my gallery. Please, fix that because I really enjoyed the device.

A little buggy and crashing in the background. I like the remote templates but wish they were more customisable suchs as swapping button shapes, icons and names etc. Remote database seems inconsistent, aircon remote was recognised at first but then when programming second RM the same remote could not be found on the database.

Very buggy and nobody cares. Suddenly stopped working again. Fedup with having to reinstall. Most common fault is no internet when my connection is very good. Also there's a limit on how many instruction you can put into Timer. Overall poor quality and no decent programmers at mission control.

Not a bad tool, works on Samsung Galaxy S3 with Android 4.3 would like it to be able to check for and apply new firmware for Broadlink RM Pro+ since the official app for it does not function on that phone. I would like to see Sonoff wifi touch switches added under 3rd party wireless light switches. There appears to be a bug in the way the app is exited as on two different unrelated smart devices I have the app reports an error alert that e-control stopped unexpectedly just after exiting out of the app. happens under Android 4.3 and 4.4.2 Please continue to develop this app! Or if you must streamline things fix the official app for the RM Pro+ work on every Android device! A Windows based APP or desktop program would be welcomed too! Some of us do not ever want to us a google or amazon or apple voice assistant device!

Regular connection errors, logs out account often (no push notifications)... Compared to iHC app and iHC for EU app, e-Control is still the best choice (for EU use). iHC apps lack settings/features like push notifications and disable sensor feedback sound. e-Control is only app that retains sensor/switch status log. Have RM Pro +, S2 kit, extra S1C doorsensor and SC1 switch. Hardware seems reliable, apps and webservices are not! Will try a local homeassistant or domoticz with the hardware soon.

"This has been superseded by broadlink remote app that for me solves all my issues from e control" does what's required, would be nice to have more programming features, I'd like to add whole scenes to the timer program not just individual items. but stable and gets continual use.

The app says my device is not connected to the internet even though it is. It cannot initialize my device. Please can you fix it? It's not only on my phone but on other two too... Edit. I could use it (hardly but still could) when I was in Dresden. Now I'm in Darmstadt and it's not working at all. It says I'm offline and not connected even though I am. So I would love to give less than one star but unfortunately it's impossible. It should be rated as -10. Not even a slightly good app.

Just about acceptable for a very first release but has had no serious update in the approx 2 years that I have used it. Abandoned? Clunky & crashes constantly. Still does not recognise my market leader aircon. A shame, the hardware & the networking connection are rock solid & 5 star.

If you are going to set up a Broadlink alarm system, I have tried with the S2, that is the best application suited for that purpose. It is friendly, convenient easy to use. Don't mess with Broadlink's newer apps, you will do less.

The app has so much potential, but it is buggy. Oftentimes says no internet, saving degrees in F at 79 shows up at 78. Once you save an interaction, you cannot edit it. The app can use improvement.

"your internet connection is poor" error. It's not my internet. The error message needs to be less generalized and more specific. In this case, the error it throws is totally inaccurate. It's worked great before..... What gives? I'll email support I guess.

It needs to add some home widgets and a way to adjust the home screen in the app so you can add more scenes in one screen rather than swipe to reach the one you want Also requires some way of making it compatible with google assistant So no need for a home device while you can use your phone as one to send commands

App is not working properly on Android 10. After adding device to your network and rename - app is crashing. Same, not possible to change picture - crashing. Please, do something, so it could work stable.

Awful application! I can only see the instantaneous consumption. I want to see medium/day. I can't wait an entire month to see a device consumption!!!! There's just an annoying graphic, way too few info in it!

Cannot configure any device on Android P (9) using Oneplus 6. Please update your software and hardware to remove all the bugs and disconnections. I have over 5 RM devices and 14 switches which gives me a lot of trouble all the time.

This is a good app, all the features I've used so far work very well. The app has crashed a few times on my android device but it reloads with no issues. I really like the push message feature which is lacking in IHC, so I hope Broadlink continues to support e-Control.
