I like this a lot. I use it with my Orbea Rise EMTB which just has a dongle (Junction box A) and no display. This app allows me to use my phone as the display. You get speed and cadence displayed in real time. The battery charge and range are displayed. The assist level is shown. It even has a map and can do navigation. Best of all if you record your ride you can get the app to automatically post the ride to your Strava account. It all works without hassle. You do need the partner Etube project app installed to access the motor settings. Really surprised that others do not like this. I think the biggest issue is getting the Etube project app up and running before you add this app to it.
Remaining battery needs to be in %. Route on map does not follow exact route lots of straight lines and cutting corners. Tried different settings , got access to GPS all time. Specialized apps like Mission Control and Blevo work much better and give lots more info. Unfortunatly Shimano have re invented the wheel and use a unique protocol to connect bike info to phone so other apps cant use it.
I've been unable to get this to pair with my Ultegra 6870-series Di2 system. I have the EW-WU111 D-Fly module installed. Everything works fine with my Garmin Edge 1000 but the E-tube Ride app isn't detecting anything. It also doesn't detect any of my Garmin speed and cadence sensors. The phone is a Samsung Galaxy S10+ running Android 11. Could this be an ANT+ issue?
I have been unable to link my cadence Magene 3+ sensor to app. Shimano states that andriod phone requirement needs to be 6.0 or higher and bluetooth needs to be 4.1 or higher. My phone is android 10 and bluetooth is 5.0. The sensor links to my Garmin watch, Wahoo app and other apps I've tried just fine. Ive tried disconnecting it from all my other apps and watch and it still wont link. Please fix this software issue. If fixed i'm sure this app would be a 4 or 5 star app
not compatible with the E8000 display. The one everyone's got. And supposedly the top of the range. And not updated for 6 months, what a waste of time...
Once you clock over 1000km the distance counter returns to zero shimano please add another two or three numerical places to display total distance on the bike. People having issues connecting I have found you need to connect just after powering up the system otherwise it won't connect.
The app is first class when used with the correct hardware which shimano have clearly stated as to which ones are compatible, Ive used it on several phones with no issues at all giving me the option to run a display as and when I want thanks for a good product
Good app with clear screens which are easy to customise. I am using it with e5000 series. Only reason I am not giving 5* is because I cannot find a way to reset the trip distance/trip time.
Fails to connect to my phone through BT. Their other app has been connecting just fine. Shimano needs to hire a better team to work out their software..
Shimano website says this android app not comparable with e8000 system. Why can't Shimano put this information on Google Play Store? Would save many people wasting their time trying to get by his app to work on their e8000 systems. Come on Shimano, about time you fixed this app for e8000 owners!
Cannot concurrently connect both a speed and cadence sensor. Very frustrating.
Great App, just a shame battery isn't shown in a percentage
came with my electric bike and is easy to use and does exactly what I need
Doesn't connect despite phone being able to connect E-TUBE PROJECT app without issue
One star because ZERO is not an option. Like everyone else here, the app won't connect.
Super easy to use and gives the information you most need.
Unable connect with magane cadence sensor S3, the data also not realible
Needs more options...battery drainage pace is not accurate
Not able to connect with my bike. Not even the people in the bike shop.
Useless, won't connect to bike.
No support for latest motor on android
Battery should be percent. Otherwise awesome
Useless wont connect, E7000 S9+
Will not connect to e7000 using S10e
Works well. Gives stats similar to my Garmin edge.
Good little app..but can't get it to connect with my Garmin venu 2 for heart rate..only on this app...other fitness apps are ok...
