Eastern Bank - Mobile Banking

It's just okay. Eastern bank doesn't show pending transactions like every other bank. No ability to turn your debit card off and on like my other banks, you have to completely cancel it if you can't find it. The deposit check feature isn't always good. I've been charged $30 after they deposited a check, they then took it back and told me they were unable to read it. Deposits don't show as pending and right now the app is useless and not working at all. I'm going to uninstall and try to reinstall

Mobile deposit: if you choose the account first, the amount field becomes very difficult to use. You can't see what you're entering for an amount. Also, when taking the picture, the rectangle is vertical, while the device is horizontal, so to fit the entire check the phone has to be about 18 inches above the check. This app used to work so well.

I dont really have a problem with the app but it can still can be improved. They don't have a feature where I can temp/activate my card back. They only have the report card lost or stolen. The layout of viewing the accounts can be improved. Where there is an option to expand, compact or total. What it is currently only expand where I see both whatever account I have. If they have the compact where I can view one account at at time that would be nice. And the total between all account.

I use this app frequently. However, I'm never able to use the mobile chrck deposit feature as the app always freezes after taking a photo of the front side of my check. There was only one occurrence where I was able to mobile deposit a check and that was a few years ago. Ever since, all my attempts are unsuccessful; the app freezes. My app is up-to-date and the OS on my android is as well.

When this app works it's good. Idk what they did, but after a recent update it won't log in half of the time. I used to be able to transfer money between accounts on the fly. Now it's a toss up if the darn thing will let me log in. I don't know if it was an android update, or an update for the app itself that screwed everything up. Either way, I wish they just left things alone.

This app is probably one of the worst financial apps I've come across. I've been banking with them for 35 plus years and stuck with them now. If it's not too late for you to turn back now, switch banks. The camera doesn't always work properly when depositing and if you deposit a check more than once of the same amount it declines the deposit (paycheck is always the same every month) you have to go to the bank.

All other part of the app works but Zelle transaction is horrible, it works intermittently

App used to be bust fine until the past month or so. It won't even open at all and the only way I could fix this is by completely uninstalling and re-installing, and even then it only works for a little bit before the app won't even open yet again. I live too far from any branches now so mobile banking is extremely important for me. Due to this I'm highly considering leaving this bank altogether. Very disappointed.

It looks like I am not the only one having problem with tha app. Camera doesn't focus on the check and for this reason the app crashes while trying to take a shot of the check. Customer service's notified many times. I would like to contact bank's IT support team, but they are invisible as far as there's no direct way to contact them.

Overall a good app. Simple and functional. Does what I need it to do such as deposit checks, make payments and transfer money. You can even use it to notify your bank when your in another country, so you can use your card. That's an especially useful function when the teller messes up and you find out your card won't work once you arive in said country. 😅 The only complaint I have is that it seems to have the fingerprint functionality for login but it hasn't worked on my Oneplus 6t.

This is the worst and slowest app EVER. I had Eastern bank since 2009 and just since 2018 and the changeover to new mobile app I have closed my other accounts and will most likely close last. Horrible app. So slow and completely useless. I login and it crashes before loading anything. It's faster to drive to an Eastern bank and check balance before it actually shows up on the app EVEN ON WIFI

The app was fine until recently, it has started to freeze and restart every time I try to deposit a check. Coupled with the closure of the only branch near me, I'm almost ready to switch banks.

I love this app! i pay all my bills with this. No more writing checks or balancing check books. there's a complete record and time stamp. I check my balance in the go when i want to buy something shiny. And snap a few quick pics of a check, plug in the amount and boom! that's it... Money in the bank!

This app does what a banking app should do, and does it well. I can check balances, transfer money between accounts, pay bills, and make check deposits. No issues with taking pics of checks, all pretty intuitive. Quick to launch and easy to use.

Terrible (× 10) app - - has cost me hours of valuable time. Tapping the "Mobile Deposit History" serves up a MOMA-worthy, nihilist art installment (i.e., nothing). Attempting a mobile check deposit via my Android 11 device renders this app unresponsive and useless, forcing me to fire up a backup Android 9 device to complete a simple mobile check deposit. Waste of time for Android 10 or 11 devices. —> EDIT (25-JAN-2022): Five months on . . . Same Android 11 device, same broken Eastern app.

Will not allow fingerprint login. Checked box on login page. Also tried to move slider button but doesn't move. Gives the appropriate successful pop up messages but does not work. Other than that I like the simple clean design. (Galaxy S10) ***Problem solved! Well done (April 2020)

Poor Functionality. The phone verification never works (you put the code they send you in & then it doesn't process) and then locks me out. Extremely frustrating to have to call customer service to have the account unlocked anytime I want to use it. Don't bother.

this app does the job, HOWEVER.. the measurements for the frame to input values during transfer does not fit screens correctly and often i enter the wrong values for transfer... there is a confirmation stage i cancel to re enter the value. its an annoying factor but over all efficient.

Eastern Bank is fantastic. Some of the best customer service ive ever experienced. The app is easy to use and the one time i had a problem with it they were able to fix it quickly. Highly recommend the app and the bank.

a great app for a great bank. I can do everything I need to with this app. very rarely thr app is down but besides that it's working great. my balance is always on point and the best feature is being able to deposit checks with my phone. I hardly even go to the bank anymore due to this app. thank you

Whenever I try to take a photo of my check to deposit, the app kicks me out every single time. Its extremely frustrating. I've only decided to use the app due to the covid restrictions. Its useless if it doesn't work for me.

I've been using the app from the day I figured out that there was even an Eastern Bank app. I can't say that I have any complaints about it but I do have a concern I'd like to express. Since the most recent Android update on my Samsung Galaxy S10+ the app has been stalling on the startup "Eastern Bank" screen and won't fully open.

The app is okay. I can login and look at my accounts, but the mobile deposit has never worked for me. I click on the buttons to take a picture and the app just freezes. Guess I'll keep depositing my check at the local branch and ignore this sorry excuse for an app.

Loved my bank... Until Eastern Bank bought them out. No interest, a joke of an app, broken mobile check deposits (which apparently they charge fees for,) terrible customer service, and ridiculous fees. Time to switch to a credit union that actually takes care of its customers instead of wasting their customer's money to advertise with celebrities in Foxwoods.

When I have a paperless bill, the amount does not show in the app. But if I use the web site, they are prefilled as the paperless bill comes into the bank electronically. Please fix this is the app. Please.

App is ok. Worst is depositing check. You can not type in amount it always goes out of sequence. Also once account info is in you can not see rest of info till on deposit part. has caused me to make errors many times.

I'm having trouble finding the icon. It's not on any page nor is it listed in my app's. However when I go to the store it says installed should I uninstall/ install? Also when depositing a check the "amount' is hidden behind other text. You can only make out the dollar sign and when I enter the deposit amount you only see the first number. You have to enter and hope you did it right! And how do I reset a forgotten PIN?

For some reason, it keeps adding extra zeros to my deposit amount. I wish it was true! Otherwise, a very capable, intuitive app that allows me financial flexibility

Works, most of the time. Instead of telling you it's down, it says password incorrect. Also, mobile check deposit bounces back from camera so you cannot deposit.
