The Easy Tek device that goes with this App is really good. I'm very happily listening to music straight through my NHS hearing aids now. Just one tip that made a huge difference: when I first tried it the sound was thin, tinny. Then I put my fingers in my ears to try to push the buds of the aids further in and - magic! - the sound immediately improved. Richer, more bass. Result. But obviously I don't want to keep my fingers in my ears when listening to music, so I tried wax earplugs. Works.
I purchased the Siemens Signia hearing aids because of their advertised functionality of being able to stream music from my phone using the EasyTek neck band. However, the listening experience is really poor with the music dropping out intermittently in one ear or the other. Really disappointed since it makes streaming music a really unpleasant experience. The aids and easyTek unit were returned to my audiologist who couldn't find a problem. New hearing aids and easyTek didn't fix the problem.
I'm quite happy with the app. Don't think it can file replace a remote, though. For example, you can't use it in an environment where cell phones would be frowned upon - like a theatre, concert, meeting. In those circumstances, I use the buttons on my hearing aid instead.
It's a simple and effective application to handle my Signia hearing aids. It allows to check battery levels in the easyTek and the hearing aids. I give 4 stars instead of 5 because if I launch the app without using the easyTek it won't work, but if I turn off the easyTek, then I can keep the app working as the TouchControl app. It should allow me to work with this application in TouchControl mode if I launch it with the easyTek off.
Siemens is still having some problems keeping the app running, but it's operating better than the app for my previous pair of aids. Unfortunately, it has suddenly started adding a program called "FM-Receiver" at random times. This program plays a loud static sound. Even when I switch the program back to "Universal" or "Tinnitus" it will switch back to "FM-Receiver" after a short time. BI have disabled the FM radio app on my phone, but problem remains.
Continually drops phone call both incoming and outgoing. Once it drops a call you can't make it receive a call without rebooting. They said it was my phone causing the problem. Well I've tried 3 different phones and the problem is still the same. Maybe if they would actually test the unit when we send it back instead of just sending me a replacement they might be able to determine what the problem is. Seems like they really don't care as who can afford to just purchase another brand so soon.
I can't get it to keep the microphones off on the earpieces when I'm trying to stream music and a noisy situation. And now I know that it is doing something else, it sets my ring and alarm to mute every time I change anything on it on this phone I always thought that when my wife was using these that it was her phone but I have now tried it on three different phones and it does the same thing. That needs to be fixed!
Generally the app allows greater functionality to my hearing aids. Bluetooth connection between cell phone and hearing aids is a big help. Unfortunately the microphone is on the easytek requiring it be pulled from under shirt for clear speach reception. Also the microphone picks up ALL sound in the immediate area.
I've found this to be very glitchy with many times will drop out. Also looses connectivity while on a phone call, rendering the app useless. Very unreliable. I'm not happy writing a negative review, but these problems need to be resolved I would have given 5 stars if I knew I could rely on it.
Disappointing At best this app is buggy. For what these people charge for their hearing aids they could do better. All kind of complaints on the hearing aid forums. last update January 2017! That should tell you something.update: the problems seem to be limited to this app. I reset the EasyTek, paired my hearing aids, paired my android phone and DID NOT install this app. Took several phone calls and streamed music all day without a hitch. Update, device still working as of 5 /3. FIX THIS APP!
Difficult to use. Poor at instructions. Cannot connect Bluetooth to AV devices. Batteries do not hold charges. Can't turn off auto answer. Bluetooth device functionality is difficult to use again poor instructions. Would not recommend this device to anyone. Does not help lessen tinnitus. Only use because VA issued it to me. Sadly used by government to be given to veterans who count on quality equipment. I regularly advise peop needing hearing devices not to use these devices, and explain demonstrate my reasoning. There is more but I don't have the time or inclination to spend any more time rating something this problematic.
Have been using easytek app for a few months now and appreciate it greatly. it helps connect my mobile to my hearing aids quite nicely and apart from a few minor glitches has functioned smoothly. the only critical feedback I would give is to improve the design of the easyTek hardware itself. it is round and can perhaps be made smaller and more squarish like the widex model.
I also have pairing difficulties and I use a radio at work and loose pairing if not using the radio often. I have two Android phones and a chromebook. Getting it to pair to the device I want to use often requires me to turn off Bluetooth to others. Not very easy when driving in heavy dangerous traffic.
The hearing aid works great. It would be nice if the lanyard and control button were mad a little more rugged.. Otherwise i am very pleased with the results and dependability, of my hearing aid and accessarys included with it. Thank you for a exalent and dependable product. Sincerely, Mr. Kal Alexander
you'd think a big firm like Signia would have a reliable decent product that works. I wish that were the case. The simple fact is that over the course of 2 years, easytec has been unreliable and clunnky. I do not recommend.
easyTek has many flaws e.g. it does not always automatically connect to Signia Pure 7px hearing aids, it is difficult to physically connect to Pure 7px hearing aids, Bluetooth is frequently disconnected for unknown reasons which is frustrating when receiving in-coming telephone calls, etc
This app is very finicky, drops off frequently and has to be restarted in order to locate connection and I've had to do the restart on several tries before it connects. Prepare for lots of Frustration.
Anything that gives me a little more control over my hearing is great. I do like the added ability to control the tone of streamed audio & the field configuration. It does what it is supposed to do.
In 2 yrs of owning Signia hearing aids & easy Tek. I have experience so much problems w/my left hearing aid that within 1 1/2 yrs it's been in the repair shop not to mention it goes into rebooting, programming and the ongoing of having to reset the easy Tek apps on my phone so that I can change my hearing aid. I have always when Siemens hearing aids (which was made in Germany) 2 yrs., ago Signia brought out Siemens. I and my audiologist have not been happy with their products. I am going to another company for my newer hearing aids & I can't wait to get them so I can junk these crappy 2 yrs old hearings aids. I'm so glad that I kept my old hearing aids instead of donating them. I will still keep my old ones for back up. As much as these hearing aids & plus having to buy additional accessories too.
Spatial configure shows quickly when opening app then disappears and is not usable. Spotty bluetooth connection. Have to turn easytek off and on for phone to recognize for calls even though it is paired.
App needs an update. Spatial Configure stopped being displayed. Reinstalled the app trying to get it to come back up but no luck. It shows briefly when app is started but quickly disappears.
App tends to change programs erratically and at random times. All too often it goes 'insane' and starts going thru all programs. Will not stay on a program I set it on.
App is very temperamental. Luckily I am tech minded. An elderly non tech person would give up. The app requires relaunching at least twice a day, switches to streaming for no reason, drops out, in general it feels like a beta release. Other than for the fact I really need this app I would have ditched it. Months later and the app developers seem to care little about the abundance of negative feedback so in summary I could not recommend this to any new user. To existing users I feel your pain.
App loses contact with the Transmitter after an hour. Unable to reconnect without turning the phone off. Can still hear sound through my hearing aids just can't control the connection. Disappointing.
The app needs to be fixed, cuts off intermittently, has to be restarted constantly, spatial configuration no longer works no matter what you do. Fix your app our get rid of it!!
Excellent and easy adjustment but more subtlety could be added. Am told there is an update available and also another app by the same author, but not certain of its title .
Worked amazing for 2 years. Signia is immalgummating all their apps. I've lost spatial configuration support in this app and the new one. Signia please help! I need spatial configuration in human services industry! Still waiting for spatial configuratuer to return. You can no longer adjust volume with the new app without having external audio turned on. How on earth is that possible? Becaue eit works fine to adjust volume with having in ear volume on with easytek app! Fix this please!
