I give it 3 stars because of how much of a pain it is to set up on Ubuntu linux, it's not hard to set up, just a pain. Ok here goes; it doesn't like usb3 so no connection on anything but USB 2 or USB (if you still have USB), which is not discussed in documentation at all (I fought for a week to get this working). Bluetooth straight doesn't work no matter what I did. Ping also doesn't work so can't rely on that to check connection. You have to type the extra steps commands every connection.
Disconnects and app crashes every 5 minutes on Kit Kat phone. I factory reset, cleared cache and reflashed with fresh OS too, but still had the same problem. The phone is fine, and PDAnet works fine on it too, but easy tether does not run stable on it for some reason. This companies customer support is very bad. Gave me nasty and not even relevant reply. So giving them stars off for their poor customer service and for not knowing their own product. Works ok on my non-kit kat phone though. It is slow and pauses often when data at the phone is plenty good, but at least it doesn't disconnect every 5 minutes. It is usable in a pinch when no other internet is available.
3 stars for how easy it is to set up and install, that part is awesome But as far as the speeds that, so far, is not worth the 10$ to spend on it. I was downloading at 200kb/s Can't stream anything. Maybe just in a bad service area. Will update if anything changes.
Best tether app I have ever used! I have had it for years and never had an issue I couldn't resolve by Uninstaller and reinstalling. Very simple to use and works great! I have been using it on every device I owned from my first smart phone, the EVO 4g, to my current Note 10+ with minimal to no issues.
I've been using this app for several years and it worked fine for me until ubuntu 20.04. Now my speeds max out at like 25% of the phone's max speed, it randomly doesn't connect at all, etc. I'm not sure why this suddenly went from a great app to a dumpster fire with the upgrade from ubuntu 18 to 20 on the exact same hardware
Great product. Cell carriers limit your speed with hotspot or limit your data on a hotspot. This product goes threw your phone so your carrier thinks your phone is using the data. Example T-mobile offers 50 gigs unthrottled through the phone and 2gb of hotspot unthrottled. This allows me to use the 50gb. Best part is they support linux, works great on my ubuntu computer. Drawback is there is no icmp requests so you cannot ping :(.
I've used this app for years now. Never have had issues with the app, only the accompanying software for linux. Even then when you find the right versions it works flawlessly. I stopped using this for a while and used native solution inside of a custom rom. Since then though I have unrooted and relocked my bootloader, and am able to still tether my devices seamlessly by using this app again. 10/10 it makes my everyday easier. Thanks Dev.
Connection is fast and stable and when paired with my GLiNet Slate, it basically gives me a full fledged WiFi hotspot without having to pay for a separate and expensive data plan.
works fine on windows 10 usb tethering but can't get it to work on Linux mint 18- and only managed to get Bluetooth tethering on my tablet, which is slow. i used to use this on an older Linux laptop before the app and linux newer versions :(
Wow! it works and so far so good. I was skeptical but its working great on my one plus 6t and windows 10. Then using my laptop ive used the hotspot feature to connect other devices.
App stopped working. It'll connect for a few minutes before resulting in a network error that disables the data connection. EasyTether tech support will not respond to my inquiries.
Has been working great for the last few years. Now it keeps disconnecting after 1-2 minutes
Worked flawlessly for ages, but stopped working - discovered that it doesn't like USB3 port on pc, switched to USB2 and back to working flawlessly.
I paid for this app (and I almost never pay for apps / nor review them). This app however has great quality. 6 phones and 3 years later I'm still using it. Only fault I can give it is some linux distros are hard to configuer.... But thats not thier fault. And they have great documentation. Definatly worth your time energy and money
works great i use it to blue tooth my internet to a spare laptop and use Windows virtual hosted network to broadcast so my cell phones internet can be used by multiple people devices at the same time. I've had this full be for a few years...i love it
Easy tether works great I use it on the USB cable it work s seamlessly you can't tell the difference between broadband and tethering
Overall great. I been playing Elder Scrolls online just fine. Thanks devs for a good product. 4 stars instead of 5 cuz they haven't updated the app in a while.
yes for once I can honestly say I'm impressed as advertised and one hell of a deal to the designers good job works great for me and I'm far from the sharpest tack in the Box and I got to working
Works real well. Some times I have to disable and then re-enable for it to work again.
I've been using this app since 2017. I have successfully used it on a Windows computer with an LG, Samsung, and Motorola using AT&T and Verizon.
Cant believe i bought this app in 2010 for $9.99. Damn it brings back memories i was 20yrs old.
Had this app since way back when it cost $14.99 works like a champ
I can not get this to work for me and I have emailed them days ago and I have not received a response. I have a chromebook and I can not get it to connect. I spent 9.99 on this for nothing. I would like it to work or to get my money back. But I can not get anyone to respond to me.
You still have to have service provider to turn on the theatering Does not work. Refund please
Tried a similar usb tethering app (PDANET) and my connection would disconnect every 10 mins. The connection was also slow as i was getting around 4 mbps. I decided to purchase EasyTether Full and im glad i did! I have been using it for 2 days and not a single connection drop! I'm also getting 17 mbps! $9.95 is a steal for this app! My only suggestion is get rid of the free lite app. Its doesn't work with https sites and almost scared me off from purchasing the full app.
