The app is a great tool to communicate with your ETP coach and to track progress. I have never been able to sync my Garmin tracker, but it does sync some data with My Fitness Pal. What does not sync must be manually entered daily. Sometimes it takes several refreshes to get the updated numbers. There are more options available on the web app. It is better than some other apps I have seen, but continued inhansements would go a long way.
It's just ok. Clumsy interface. The web app is far superior for me. It's annoying that you don't stay logged in - for example, getting logged out while typing a journal entry if you take too long or stop mid-entry and come back to it later. Syncing with apps isn't perfect either. But it gets the job done. Maybe the ios version is different?
ETP is great and has really helped me lose weight and keep it off. The app needs work though - the interface can be harder to navigate, and updating multiple days of data can cause glitches. Writing coaches messages can be difficult if over a few sentences with the interface. I tend to use the website client login (which still has a few, but less, glitches) to record information, and use the app as a reference.
The coaches and program are great. The app is 💯% hot garbage and looks like something designed a decade ago. Want an app that isn't user friendly? Here you go! Need to message your coach? Do that in a completely different area than where they message you! Need to edit your journal for the previous day? Nope! Need to edit ANY journal entry? NOPE! If you're looking for an app that makes you sometimes log in (because INCONSISTENCY is key here), look no further!
I think the app is ok. I wish it would keep me logged in all the time. Also it would be nice to receive notice when coach "posts" a message. Unless I'm missing it, I cannot find where there is a graph (as is on web version) to show weight progress and/ or goals.
I love the API interface with MyFitnessPal so I can easily log my food. But the journal part, especially to enter exercises, is clunky. Manual entry is clunky as well. There needs to be more effort in UX design for the next update.
it has its qwerks, but overall a decent app. i don't like that i have to go all around the world to get info to the app. ( have to sync MFP to FitBit to get it to work. kind of makes have to stay with Fitbit for my tracker instead of going to something else if i don't want to manually put my food in). i also don't like that i have to go to 'message a coach' to respond to coach questions.
Constantly need to manually enter my macros at the end of each night. They very rarely carry over correctly. I'll be within my macros on MFP and my numbers are all off on the app, and it appears I went over on one, two, or three of F/C/P macros. It's pretty annoying.
Macros convert over perfectly. Only issue I've experienced is that sometimes I can't get out of the manual entry page (no back button) and I have to uninstall and re-install the app
The etp program and coaches are great, the app is REALLY hit or miss. Takes forever to load, I have to close and reopen it multiple times to get it to fully load, and even then it crashes half the time the second I try to open the journal.
Life changing! The ETP folks really have the knowledge and system for successful weight loss and/or performance improvements. I dont work out like a competitive crossfitter, just walking, some cardio and some weights. I have 1 or 2 rest days a week, a few Street Parking workouts and some weights. I have more energy than I've had in a long time and lost 10 pounds right out of the gate. I realized I was undereating. It's seems counterintuitive, but it is the real deal. #etp4life
App does everything that it is supposed to do. Great coaches, great support. The best nutrition, diet and fitness program that I've ever tried and I have tried lots. Planning on buying a lifetime membership.
The program and coaching are fantastic. The app is a little clunky, but it gets the job done. I understand the efficiency by having the app pull exclusively from Fitbit, but it would be more user friendly if it supported additional APIs
The app is ok. Could be more helpful as far as logging food, and telling me how much of what I have left. I keep having to switch back and forth to myfitness pal and my calculator. I would love to have an easier way to communicate with my coach that isn't the journal.
It takes forever to open. It takes forever to update. It's supposed to sync with MFP but I plug something into MFP in the morning and in the afternoon it's still not synced. It's annoying.
I'm having the same issues as many of the other reviewers. Disappointed, spent 4 days trying to make it work, even got suggestions from IT but nothing solved the problem. Will try to use the website, but how inconvenient. I will say, the ETP IT and help desk were quick to respond and try and help. Unfortunately I'm still where I started...
The app works great for the use case it's meant to do : pull nutrition data from MyFitnessPal, log workouts, communicate with coaches. Apart from that there's not a lot of features.
The program and coaches are excellent. The app itself on Android OS has issues syching with My Fitness Pal. It also requires you to log out and back in after entering macronutrient and other data manually.
The app has been working ok. It doesnt update right away when i enter food into MFP, but i just got a msg from my coach that i needed to start tracking again. I have been tracking my food in MFP, but it hasnt transferred over for over a week.
Love the coaches!! But sometimes there's a lag in writing coaches and it hasn't been resolved several times of reaching out to support it's always uninstall/reinstall/force stop
I have tried different diets for years to lose weight to no avail. Counting my macros has made all the difference! I lost 24 pounds in 2020 -- and that's something I am really proud of. I haven't even figured out all the things ETP can track yet! Easy communication with my macros coach too.
This is a terribly made app. Doesn't save the info you put in. Even when I linked it to myfitness pal app it didn't upload or save my progress. Do not recommend. Total waste of my time.
This is one of the hardest plans to follow. You need to tra k meals in MyFitnessPal but the numbers of the meals or food you are trying to log dont mach so it is a false number and macos never match up. Very disappointing.
I'll be honest this doesn't provide any more benifit than my fitness pal. I was looking for accountability with my diet and a little help . All I got was messages off a robot. The Facebook groups do have a great community but there are similar in the free domain. This app will work for the few but for the many there's better free options out there
I like the app. Syncs well with MyFitnessPal. I have to manually enter my steps, RHR, sleep, fiber, and sodium though. I use a Garmin device, so this probably isn't an issue if you use a Fitbit device.
Slow to load and refresh. Frustrating UI (why do I have to convert sleep time into minutes?? Why does the super day change dropdown go off the screen?) No native connectivity to Garmin. (Nov 2020) concerns above still apply.
Great program, easy app, great coaches and a great way to CHANGE how you relate to food!!
This is a very solid app. My experience in the Android is a bit of a lag in between pages but otherwise I really like this.
App has very limited integrations. Every time you do manual entry, even if only updating 1 category you have to re enter everything. Very clunky to use.
While I love the service and the coaches are awesome, the app is a bit buggy and could use a user experience redesign. If you don't have a Fitbit, you end up having to do a lot of manual entry which involves a ton of clicking around. I'd love to be able to connect ETP to my Garmin app so I don't have to manually enter everything. For the manual entry itself, this could be improved by showing the date where data is entered and allowing multiple data points to be entered on one screen.
