Great app, love the Cornell Lab of Ornithology! Only issue is that on Android, ebird won't import previous observation from before installing the app, or of you delete and reinstall the app. Also, I cannot share the checklist after I have submitted the checklist. Another bug is that you cannot upload photos on the ebird app. Not a huge issue for me, since I process photos on my computer before adding it. I think that would be a huge plus if you could optimize these things for Android! Thanks!

The app is ok. It's easy to enter checklists. But there are alot of functionality problems. I can't seem to share checklists with people after I've submitted them. And I can't seem to view other birders' checklists. I also tried repeatedly to figure out how to post my pictures. I know it can be done, because other birders post pics, but I can't figure out how to do it on my phone. Maddening.

Truly, the eBird app is a 4.5 but because it's the only real birding checklist app it gets a 5. My complaints are as niche as the Vampire Finch. Primarily, the need for data connection when trying to bird in new or remote areas can be frustrating. This sometimes results in delays while the app tries to communicate with the server, the lack of accurate expected species, and the inability to select hotspots because they don't load. That aside, it's THE birding app and pairs perfectly with Merlin.

Awesome resource for people who like birding. Easy to use and maps are up to date and accurate. Which saves time driving around if you're trying to see a specific bird. It updates my account online immediately for my life list, and the explore function makes suggestions for seeing new birds based on my personal experience I love this app, and would recommend it to anyone into birding.

Cannot use. No packs automatically installed. Attempting to install, none appear in suggested column. Attempting to access All available packs, none are listed. Error message alleging problems with server, advising me to check internet connection -- device is in fact connected to internet.

eBird is closing suddenly while starting checklist, with suggestions of clear the history. After clearing also its unable to start checklist. I have uninstalled and installed the application. Still the problem persists the same. Please look into the issues and resolve it. Many times while walking in birding hotspots, unable to start the application, then used to note the species and uploading it in desktop after coming at basecamp.

Ridiculously convoluted for an app used in remote areas. Why am I required to wait for a GPS signal to enter old lists? Why can't I just tell the stupid thing where am I rather than wait for 10 minutes for it to fail to find a GPS signal. Garbage app, go back to your version from 5 years ago.

I love ebird and the ability to see what birds are in the area. I use the app all the time. It is simplistic and straightforward to use. My only complaint is I wish they had an option to upload pictures of your birds on the mobile app checklist.

You have to have phone service to use the app, many places I bird there is none. Why do they have to tell you what birds are there. It is for beginning birders, I guess. You are out there looking for unexpected birds. The idea of having to go through steps in the field to add birds is ludicrous. Even with the non app ebird, the maps they have to tell you if you saw what you saw are not detailed enough to be correct. I am using an old Peterson app ,no downloading, no telling you what you sa

Got this for my biology class and I love it! I've been birding for the past few months and this is super easy to use especially in connection with Merlin Bird ID. I wish it were easier to submit photos, but other than that it's awesome.

Indispensable! My daily birding companion. It has kept improving from the time I started using it 3 years back. Waiting to see audio and image file upload options. Dec, 2019 The latest update, which I have been using for 2 months, is very unsteady. It takes a long time to launch a list, often minutes. It seems to have more features but overall thus version is more difficult to use.
