Echo UW

The Echo app provides step-by-step instructions for performing a normal pediatric echocardiogram and uses video clips, images and illustrations to aid in instruction. The app is intended to be used by sonographers at all levels of training, pediatric cardiology fellows, as a teaching aid for pediatric cardiologists and by anyone interested in learning how to perform the normal pediatric echo exam.

There are four standard views where images can be obtained:

1. Subcostal
2. Parasternal
3. Apical
4. Suprasternal

The exact images and the order in which the images and views are obtained varies by institution. Each protocol (subcostal, parasternal, apical or suprasternal) can be followed in order by clicking on the next tab at the bottom of the page or you can click on an individual numbered view within the protocol list to be taken directly to that view. The name of the view and instructions will pop-up automatically at the bottom of the page. The instructions and additional notes can also be found in the “NOTE” button at the bottom of the page.

Brilliant app but each time I use it, after about 1 minute of using it, it freezes and I have to leave and restart the app. Difficult for continuous study

The best application yet, as far both content and methodology for self-study of a subject as complex as congenital heart disease!
