EchoLink

Needed to use either Relay, or Public Proxy, but after one of the updates, the Direct type started working. Don't know whether other past reviewers will read this or not, but as far as using Relay goes, it seems like only about 5 Relay connections to a station is available, then you'd need to use either Direct or Public Proxy. The APP worked fine for a few years, but the mike audio no longer works on this Acer Chromebook, but it might be the Chromebook. APP works fine on my Samsung cell phone.

After numerous issues with the computer version, and the apparent absence of updates. I installed this on three of my devices. While I haven't used it much yet, it seems to work fine. I can only connect via proxy however It won't connect via direct or relay, at least not on my network. I have used Echolink pretty much since it was first released, on my computer, I don't if a revised Windows 10 version is coming in the future or not. We shall see what happens going forward.

Awesome app... I'm a ham in the US and have made contact to hams in Southern Ireland, New Zealand, England and several States in the US. My only gripe is that I wish it worked when my phone (Note 8) is on my mobile network. currently it only works when it's connected to WiFi. Other than that, no complaints! Also, I have run it on my Acer Chromebook with no issues... Keep up the good work!

It does allow access to member repeaters via the internet. The biggest issue is the application does not respect the volume setting. Every time it picks up from mute the volume is reset to full ignoring local volume settings. I have to keep adjusting the volume. Its been like that for months without being resolved. 2 Stars off. The other issue is poor choice of CODEC resulting is degraded audio quality. 1star off.

Wonderful app. Simple, easy to use. Nothing bad to say about it. I have heard a common complaint is creating some separation between the 'end' and 'transmit' buttons as sometimes operators mash one when they meant to hit the other. Lookout for that! Hasn't been an issue for me butnyoive been warned. Have fun, 73!

On network radios it drops the connection and doesn't reconnect when switching cell towers or switching from WiFi to cell service and vice versa. It needs to be able to remember the last connection and reconnect the second data is restored like Zello does, because of that it's pretty useless in the car as you can't keep pressing to reconnect all the time when you're driving. Apart from that it's all good.

I think it's great, just wish you could have the option to plug in EARPHONES or HEADPHONES. Because just using the phone speaker can be a pain when your out in public. I think the developers might want to look at that in a next update, also please fix this timeout stuff, won't hold connection to a repeater or link. Thanks. Pete.

So far working well. Had a weird issue where I started setting up the app before getting all my info verified and the app wouldn't let me log in after I was 100% verified. It kept saying "Registering NULL" instead of my callsign. Clearing all data and resetting the app didn't fix it. After uninstalling then reinstalling, it finally let me login. So, get completely verified before attempting to login!

I love Echolink, but there is one issue with the app. It uses the phone audio instead of the media audio. This means that the minimum volume on android is 20%, and I cannot change that. Is there any way to force the app to use the media audio, which would allow a much lower volume? Some are deafeninly loud at the lowest volume.

Works well when it manages to connect to server (50/50 chance on working and does not play nice over mesh networks). Hard to use on Network Radio devices with small screen displays. UI and font size adjustment would make it much easier to use on smaller devices.

Routing to bluetooth not working properly. All the time it's the external speakers are only working. When we change the output routing in the settings also the same issue remains. Please fix this audio issue

I was unable to log into the app and I figured it out. My password was 20 characters. This works fine in the desktop app. In the app on the phone it doesn't take it. What I did was get my password via the web page and was able to see the last few characters were missing. Now I'm able to login. I still cannot connect via mobile but I'm still playing with settings.

I just found this app (have been using the pc application like a barbarian). I absolutely love it. I travel for work and can sit in the room and make qso's all over the world or back home to talk with my dad without having to deal with my laptop, wifi, and an internal mic being behind the keyboard. Of course I wish it were updated gui wise, but it serves a purpose and like most trancievers sitting in ham shacks across the world, they may not be pretty but they sure do work.

Could not connect to echo link. A old android tablet would stay connected when the app was closed. Echolink tech support told me there was 2 devices connected at the same time. So I unstalled it from the old sansung galaxy tab 2 . Update I am having the same problem, on the new tablet, even when the app is closed it will connect to the echolink node whithout my knowing it. So I have no control over the app. So I must unstall the app. Others seam to be having the same problem.

Fixed problem where I couldn't control RX volume. It was stuck on full. Go to Settings - Audio Stream - select Music instead of Voice. Sorted 😀 The confusion was that I assumed the audio stream setting was for the outgoing audio stream quality.

Fine, when it works. The volume control is terrible, set it, it seems fine, next time a transmission is received it's full volume. Turn it down, it'll go to full volume at the next received transmission again.

I installed this app out of curiosity. I couldn't connect to the link for callsign validation, and it took over my phone, sending annoying pop-ups until the validation was complete. I'm sure a lot of hams like it, but the constant validation notice turned me off right away.

PLEASE make an app like this for direct connections to digital networks using modes such as DMR and YSF. EchoLink is great and it would be wonderful to have the same features available in a digital network app! Thank you for creating a fantastic app! Best Regards, Don

The app works great only thing after receiving an update for my phone the EchoLink app no longer on my phone home screen. I must go into settings to all Apps to fine the EchoLink app and open it from there. i guess if i delited app and reinstall it from google store it would show up on my home screen. some time when you delete an app u know longer can find it in Google store to reinstall it back in phone to use it.

In a blatant show of disregard for your security, stores your password on plaintext on the server and will email it to you on reset. Developers have been contacted several times by different hams but don't seem to really care about it.

Overall a very good app. The only problem that I am getting is the external push-to-talk button feature is not working. I am using the RFinder K1 and it will not allow the external button feature.

The interface could be a bit better, but otherwise this is a great app. An essential part of any ham's toolkit.

I already have a registered account for echolink and do not see why I can not just use that instead of all the song and dance just to install it. I have followed reg instructions but do not see the same pages on my phone like directions state thus the download is not what they want. And yes I logged into the fcc using my frn number and password. I like the app but not enough to do this EVERY TIME I have installed it over the years. Not worth it in this day and age. Sorry.

As a fairly new ham of 3 yrs, I use this app more often than using my base radio to talk as I am Mobile. And I love talking to others across the world, as well keep in touch with others in Florida when at home, and vis versa!

Great App, too many Hams are forgetting, this is not RF, it's VOIP, what would you do if your SWR was High, get to the source of the problem,,,,,,, need I say more? I use this for emgc, I also have it on desktop, just installed this, the kettle had boiled, tea made, entered my callsign and password, tried echo test, joined a hubnet for a quick echo test, 10/10. Is it real Ham Radio? I don't know but it's a Very handy, convenient way to have contacts with Amateurs around the globe. I like the randomness of the CQ feature. Anything beats crickets. I also function a local Echolink Repeater with 4 watt Baofeng UV-5R and talk globally. Works for me.

Works great. However when in tx instead of a huge mic, how about leaving the connection box open and add a timer to avoid timeouts.

Cannot login. Despite having registeted callsign app wont accept it and links to validation which has already been done. Not much good. Works on windows not on android.
