It keeps saying that the app has a bug see the app developer for a fix....
I consider myself a very technical person and normally have little to no problems on setup of electronics. This is literally the worst app I have ever experienced. When trying to add the WiFi, the setup will just continuously loop 'searching for router'. I have owned this item for 2-weeks and it has yet to find a network. Before the dev reaches out: Yes, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Yes, I have tried unplugging it and plugging it back in. Yes, I have reconfigured my router to try and meet any/all demands that may be blocking connection.
Worked in the beginning. Unfortunately when I went to turn on the timer it wouldn't work. So I thought It might be on the wrong time zone and I needed to reset the system. I reset the system and the app no longer sees any networks. So now it's only operational if I'm on the switch's own wifi. This makes the whole device extremely pointless and unusable.
I very rarely review apps but I have to say they deserve this review. I contacted Tech Support months ago about 2 different issues. One of them being how the app didn't fill the screen all the way on my S8+ Well this week they updated the app to fix that issue AND took the time to email me and tell me about it. That was above and beyond what I expected! Keep up the great work!
App works very well. Some settings are not fully intuitive, but they can figured out in short time. The product and the app are higly reliable and function consistently. Took off one star due to the setup video being difficult to follow and setup the product. The step missing is to instruct the user to switch the wifi connection back to the router. Once I figured that out, setup worked well on the subsequent plugs I setup. BTW I have been using the app and plugs for 2 years to date.
The application worked great on my old android phone, being able to control the outlet when I am connected to my home wifi, or when I am away from home. However, the application installed on newer android phones does not allow me to control the outlet when I am away from home. I hope that the issue will be addressed soon. Edit: thank you for your prompt answer. It works flawlessly now.
I love the way this works with the outlet plugs, but the company I guess stopped making them, and the other products they say were coming soon. Now after an email I got from them about the in wall switch they told me to purchase the maxima mew-s150dw but it doesn't work on this app, despite following the instructions. It loads fine and works for a minute till the app is reset/restarted. Then the plugs come up but the wall switch doesn't. I thought I had a bad wall switch so I bought another one and the same thing happens. I guess that is what to expect from cheap off brand items or start up companies. I just wish they had become a good company or what ever because I hate to have to have an app for some stuff and another for other stuff and a 3rd for let other stuff.
Unable to connect with Alexa. Sent developer an email with debug file, and received the confirmation. But haven't heard any solution. Try connecting with Alexa every day but still not working. 09-Feb-2022 Update: Just successfully connected to Alexa tonight! Thanks for the update. Hopefully no more issues.
The app doesn't respond. After a winter, I am restarting the pool. But the app stoped responding. The setting button simply didn't work. After uninstalling and reinstalling a few times, still the same. Very frustrating.
App won't recognize plugs at the beginning of every month. I tried contacting directly but the website is horrible too! When they work it's all good but useless if you have to reprogram monthly.
I need to use this app to control a Wi-Fi remote timer. Problems: 1. there are not enough functions 2 it will connect to one timer but not the other one. 3 the settings button doesn't work 4 The timer that it does connect to when I try to edit the times it freaks out and tries to do both times even though I deleted the first one.
Eco-xxxx does not appear even with reseting the system (via pin pressing the reset button). I cannot see the system unless I change my network back to a compromised network username and password. Update: I unplugged the timer (no electrical power). I pressed in the reset button (and kept it pressed) and reconnect electrical power then the unit's hotspot started broadcasting again.
Is anybody else unable to connect Eco plugs app with Google home I recently was attempting to readjust my wireless settings and ended up losing the plugs off the network then when I try to re-establish the connection Eco plugs will not connect to works with Google home anymore no matter how many times I try to sign in I've attempted to create a new account and everything still won't work
Have 4 of these useless things and replacing them with Tp-link Minis. Everyone of these devices are impossible to relink on the network anytime there is an outage. And two of them are nothing but manual on/off switchs now because they will not connect at all, won't even try when plugged in. No flashing light. Completely useless.
Glad this product was on clearance for $2. I can not get past step 2 for it does not come with an icon (@) that it says to open for setting up before entering this app. Now it says my device is on my phone but this app does not recognize it and it doesn't give the option to put serial numbers and etc in it.
Works great. Just would like to rearrange the order of the list of plugs. Setup fairly straight forward, just remember while still at home to add each device to the cloud or else will not be controllable away from the house.
Used to work. I stopped using the plugs for a time but attempted to reuse them. It will no longer find my wifi router. Neither one of my plugs will find the router. You get what you pay for, time to invest in a more reputable brand I suppose.
Reliably turns on our lamp every evening just before sunset. Also allows us to control it remotely from our phones. The only down side is that the maximum length of time you can leave the lamp in is 4 hours after sunset. That's simply not late enough if we're away from the house too long and need to keep a light on for the dogs. Please update your app to allow for >3H in the hours field.
DO NOT BUY THESE PLUGS Even when working the App is horrible. Their service has been down for days now. They have responded back to me in emails saying they will relay to the engineers but nothing happens. At first they tried to tell me it was my app and to re download. I told them it was not working on any phone we have, and stopped working through Alexa. To this day nothing.
I also had the stuck on finding routers screen where the buttons are unresponsive. I was able to get around it by disabling cell data. The app itself is pretty bad, but works now, so gave 1 more star.
Works great for controlling pool pump. But noticed that it would not connect remotely through some public WIFI networks like at the airports. In this case had to turn off WIFI and use cellular data, but then needed at least 3 bars.
Useless App doesn't even connect you to the ecoplug, attempted to reset and reconnect and app's home screen is basically a screenshot with the exception of the "more" section. Needs major improve before I'd decide to change my rating and add an update to my review.
Works pretty well but I wish I could tell Google Home Assistant to leave the pool on until 10PM instead of having to restart pump or change settings for the day. This is a Google feature though, not a Eco Plugs feature so Google needs to work on it.
Just discovered that these became Alexa enabled which is giving me great hope to see Google home being added soon (House is like 35% Alexa 65% Google Home). As for now I'll be busy setting them up on Alexa and digging out my Alexa moto mod for my phone for now. All in all they're great simple to use plugs already and the app isn't too difficult to use but speech control is fast becoming the norm in my house so was thrilled to see it.
Awesome! I've wanted something like this for a long time and it works perfectly. Might I suggest though making some widgets so you can control your lights without having to open the app every time? I would give five stars immediately if you added that feature!
I have never reviewed an app before but in this case I feel I have to. This is possibly the worst and most difficult app I have ever experienced. Whenever I get a heavy rain and my GFCI trips, turning off my ECO-controlled landscape lights, I break out in a cold sweat knowing that I am going to have to deal with getting the app working again. The instructions in the app do not match what I see on my phone, which is basically nothing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app but to no avail.
