The app is very convenient to use. It's my go-to, rather than the thermostat unit on the wall. But the app has connectivity issues from time to time, when none of my other apps have that problem. It also defaults to eco sense when I would rather have my system on a different setting. That needs improving. But I do appreciate having the app, with the ability to control my system whether I'm at home or away.

Smart thermostat? No. It's a $toop!D one. My experience with ecobee has gotten worse over the past 5 years. App does not match settings available on the thermostat and vice versa. Sync issues. Humidifier control doesn't work. App doesn't implement all options selected. I've reached out to support more than a few times over the years about the same occurring issues, with "tests" done but... Still, No solution to known bugs. The issues just add up. Disappointing and a failure.

Has a lot of features, but the recent update has them in menus that are not indicated in their own how-to guides. My family has zero use for a schedule, yet the Scheduling Assistant (located under My ecobee, ecobee+ btw) had magically turned on and set one without my knowledge. I searched for almost 2 days trying to figure out how to disable it before I finally found the right menu. Device is way too expensive for this kind of grief. Connection issues are also frequent and sporadic.

(1) Need the ability to have full control on which sensor(s) are active, at any time. (2) Fan run time should be included in comfort settings. Without these features, tediously, we have to manually change settings more than once daily. Which defeats the purpose of a automated thermostat. Already contacted support. All I get is "sorry, that's just the way it works". If this device was in my primary home, it would have been tossed long ago.... Response: Like I said, been there, done that!

This is a seriously flawed app. It keeps losing communication with my thermostat or the device disappears completely. I don't think it has worked longer that a week in the entire year I have had the thermostat. Update: I did contact support. Now things are worse. I have to cancel my credits with my utility provider or the system will not let me make adjustments. Fortunately the app is making my ac run continuously so I should get a $400 utility bill.

GeoFence doesn't reliably work and shows it's in meters even though it's miles on map screen! EcoPlus overrides manual settings and been not working for months. Tech support is of no help! Makes me "Away" randomly, then I set both to home, it has switched me to Away multiple times. Most recent update broke home/away again. Makes me Away every few minutes.

Sloppy and buggy, but fairly necessary if you have multiple thermostats. Good: let's you control most of your tweaks from your phone like temp, home/away and turning the fan on. Bad: you will get alerts meant to trick you into thinking you have a real problem. Ex: "Something may be wrong with your HVAC system" can be triggered by your humidity alert, a filter teminder (already dismissed prior) or other non-critical statii that dont warrant such a panicky message. Clickbait in an app...

Used to be 5 stars, however app takes forever to update, and all the temperatures show wring and take a long time to update to the correct temps. Maybe server issues. Last update. Back to 5 stars as the App is working fine again. Apparently an App Tracker Blocker I had installed on my phone, was recently updated and blocking and slowing connections. After disabling it I have everything working fine again.

The app is okay, but just that. It sometimes says there are issues saving. More importantly, the app has less settings than the physical ecobee have. Please mirror the settings to match the physical unit so I don't have to get up to adjust certain things like manual fan turn on for 2 hours, screen brightness, and advanced settings. Stop hiding settings from users. The same settings are also missing from the web interface. I bought this device so I didnt have to get up to adjust it.

The new eco+ option that allows you to select your TOU rate shows options from my power company, but no matter which option is selected it returns an error in saving. Everything else seems to work fine. I am on a peak demand rate, it would be nice if I could set the two air conditioner units to not run at the same time. That could save a lot of money. Really surprised that ecobee does not support this. Would be a bigger feature that most everything else in terms of savings.

I don't want your DAMM filters!!! Pop Up Spam Ads! Developer :Yes, Stop continus pop up advertising. I paid enough for your thermostat, I should not have to deal with advertising to control it! Continues with unsolicited advertising forced on the application! Unexplained new Advertising Permission. You can't get the app to correctly control my thermostat, but at least I get Spammed with your advertising. I would never buy from ecobee again. Go with Google / Nest. Worthless "What's New".

Fix the app or the backend API for the App. When trying to update the thermostat through the App, it fails multiple times with an error asking to retry. Constant error defeats the whole purpose of a smart thermostat. Either API supporting the App is buggy or there is an issue with App, more likely the former. Please fix the reliability of thr App.

I've been enjoying the app and thermostat. It's an easy to use app. Easily charge temp settings. I love the auto of cooling or heating without personally swapping between the 2. Or set just cool or heat. A variety of other settings. You can verbally adjust temp from Google Home or Alexa. I hope they have the blue appearance app come back. It was a trial one.

Ecobee 3 lite has been installed for about 2 months with app and it has been perfect. Easy to add remote sensors, excellent graphing history and tools. Easy to recommend to technically-inclined users. Sometimes hard to determine where to implement a change, e.g. setpoint differential can only be done at physical device.

The app is great and the interface looks just like the display on the thermostat, except for a few differences. The eco+ green icon will show on the thermostat but not on the app. And it would be fantastic if there was an option to have the weather in Celsius and keep the thermostat temperature in Fahrenheit

I believe a recent update is at fault. My house is showing Temps of 80 (in house) but isn't cooling, though I have the thermostat set to cool to 73. Also, I'm having to repeatedly go in and change from "away" to "home." I have my elderly grandmother in my home. I can't afford for her to overheat and get sick! I notice the developer has the same response to consumer issues.

App is **awful** ... So many bugs when changing the schedule + comfort settings. Times out, doesn't work, etc etc. Doesn't matter what we set the temperature at, it always feels like something else in the house. We just brought a newborn baby home ... Definitely not great to be playing a guessing game with the temperature.

After ~3 years, I am finally happy with how the thermostat is working. The security camera is completely useless and highly annoying. Do not waste your $99 on the camera and monthly service plan, useless app, and no meaningful support.

App crashes and frequently does not sync to thermostat. This is the opposite of a smart home app, I've been using it for 5 months and when it works it's great but that is so infrequent and inconsistent I couldn't justifiably recommend this to any one.

Lacks Usage Analysis. I should be able to see a graph of fan, AC, and heater usage by time of day. In the graph there should be: temperature of room, desired temperature, and outside temperature. Bonus points if it tells me how much electricity was used during an interval of time.

It's a convenient app but frequently enough will say there's an error when turning on and off or changing modes etc, and now recently when I 1st open the app will tell me to add a device 2 seconds before it takes me to my device's screen. Needs a solid fix

Worked great all winter with heat while we were away for 3 months. Now home and a/c wouldn't come on when called for. Ecobee tech talked me through relocating the PEK and we finally got the a/c to come on. But what's really frustrating me is that we cannot get the fan only to run to keep air circulating through the house. I've tried every possible setting. Even when I try to fool it by turning the a/c on and setting the temp to 90 fan will not run. App even says, 'equipment running' FAN. But no.

The app works pretty well, but ecobee really needs to address the languishing oversights in the thermostats. Half hour increments are not adequate, smart recovery is unusable, smart away is nowhere near as good as it could be. Generac should turn some attention toward firmware. There is so much energy that could be saved if they would only fix a few things.

The app would be convenient if it worked. My fan is on its own schedule and air consistently cuts on even when it shouldn't. I had to cut the thermostat completely off in order for it to stop. Also can't find where to change the local temperature in the app.

Needs major update. Confusing and too much fiddling around just to get your temperatures and fan synced. Settings do not hold after inputting. Have to confirm several times to make sure setting is actually what you set it!
