Edsby for Android

Edsby is kinda cringe, ngl gonna lie. It is super inefficient at what it is supposed to do, and there are far better alternatives. Edsby had been nothing but great pain trying to recieve classwork and grades, and I think it has no place in my heart. It is trying to be something it is not, and the development team is highly incompetent when it comes to the design of the application as a whole. There is also no notification feature enabled on the application, which makes everything so much harder.

Powerschool worked just fine, and then our school had to introduce this garbage. It's full of bugs, cluttered menus, gives errors constantly, and it looks like it was made in 2006. The app icon isn't even the right resolution! I think that Edsby is too unfinished to be used officially and I would much prefer to stick to what our school used before.

It has potential with the idea of having all the features built in. Unfortunately, many parents, teachers, and students have expressed that it is just not user-friendly. Unfortunate as I'd like to support a Canadian based company. I'd rather use 2 or 3 other programs than this outdated "all in one" cloud management software.

No consistent "back" button, which is absolutely necessary when there is so much useless information and tabs on the screen. Very difficult to login. Difficult to access multiple profiles at the same time despite have usernames and passwords available. Looks like they used Facebook's interface from 2008 and trying to give it life 13 years later. Junk

I never experienced any inconveniences until now. The screen gets distorted and content/things you can tap dont show. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but the problem still occurs. I have some screenshots of the problems if you would like to see. Edit: I've gone to the website and the screen distortion still occurs! Again, I have screenshots if you would like to see.

I can't say I love this app. I think the layout is passable, at absolute best but the complete lack of notifications causes me to constantly miss new assignments and messages from teachers unless I'm constantly checking the app, which takes long enough to start up as it is. I feel that there isn't really a solid, reliable way to submit my assignments, and the app itself is overall clunky and not fantastic. It feels like a beta, not a full app. One star because You Tried.

This app is by far the worst school related app ever for Android. The iOS interface is slightly more polished but not by much. The fact that there are bugs and half the time the app doesn't even open up in 1080p but 720p is really annoying when I'm just trying to check my work. This app should be optional and in my opinion it shouldn't be the only option.

No push notifications, generally confusing, both teachers and students have a hard time using this app. Edit: Looking through the reviews I see things that all of my fellow students have seen for years: a buggy mess of a website. We are constantly having issues related to bad formatting of the app, many many bugs inhibiting our learning and not to mention the odd review responses. If the app werent so difficult to navigate and understand, things would be a lot easier for students.

Horrible app. I hate having to use this app. It's not an effective way to communicate. Unless I check the app constantly I have no idea I have a msg from a teacher. I have notifications set to email as this is the only notification option and 99% of the time I don't get the email. I miss msgs and don't respond in a timely manner. You need to fix the notifications. Why not have the app notify me directly....like every other app on my phone? App is also a pain to navigate. Fix this BS app

This app is supposed to make "home schooling" easier for parents, it does the total opposite. It is not user friendly at all. Unorganized tabs and usage. I have 3 kids that are in different gradea and all 3 teachers use the app in different ways. There is no consistency. The app freezes allllll the time. Because of all the issues with app we easily get frustrated and none of the actual school work gets completed.

App hasn't worked in quite some time. Developers seem to be more interested in telling us how we're stupid instead of listening to users. Totally not user friendly. The interface is ridiculous in that you have to search through tabs to find things that should be basic. Just all around a failure at what should be simple.

Something has gone wrong with this app. I can't see my children's classes anymore. Can't send any messages with pictures or files anymore. I Uninstalled and reinstalled. Nothing works. Left a message for support almost 2 weeks ago and no one contacted me back. What a huge fail! So disappointing.

Ok, where do I START? Well they don't give us notifications, and that REALLY tends to ruin the experience when your teachers will post something at the flip of a coin. Oh and it's super annoying to navigate. It takes a solid three seconds to load another page even if your kind of in a hurry. Alot of the links are broken, everything all of our resources are Microsoft and most of which I wouldn't touch with a 7000 foot pole, and when I asked for the assignment emailed to me by my teacher she said-

The app used to work fine before but suddenly started a few months ago just didn't let me log in at all. I can log in via the website fine with my credentials and I have checked to make sure I am on the right server. Fixed this and I will bring back the ratings. Update: I did as you asked and looked for my password for Edsby, found out that google has saved two autofill passwords for two edsby settings. I have try using it and it worked so changing my rating back to 4.

All the schools in my area swapped to Edsby recently. For the first 3 months after switching the program straight up didn't work at all, I don't know the fine details about the issue but we students had no access to the online tools we once had for quite some time. The software schools used before was outdated, but Edsby somehow feels even older. The decision to swap to Edsby really makes no sense to me, and it solidifies my doubt of the people running my education system.

First and foremost, this app is slow. Getting from the main page to the messaging page takes much longer than it should. This could be due to poor programing. Secondly, the layout is attrocious. Did anyone even think of getting a visual designer on board at any point during the process? Thirdly, the glitching. Come on guys. The glitching has been a problem with this app since we startd using this app 5 years ago. To sum it up, these people are scammers. Not programmers. Do better or loose us.

Constantly issues Constantly freezes . When it works it functions well not very user friendly. For past 3 plus weeks Shows notifications that I have items to open but will not open. Teacher has added new information to certain classes and I can not open anything frrezes wont open locks up just kinda pointless for one to have an app that cannot do the job it is literally meant to provide 🙃 😑

It isn't really compatable with older versions of android. I downloaded the app and it was only sideways. I had no navigation buttons like other phones have because the app is only in landscape mode. I can't check my grades or anything. Maybe my version of Android isn't the problem but it's the best reason I could conclude.

I have to keep deleting and downloading the app just to log in, the new update is awful and doesn't get rid of notifications properly, i recently had a quiz/homework and the edsby app wouldn't mark it as handed in, so now it is constantly marked as late even though I already have a mark on it. Edsby, if im going to use your app at least make it look like it did before, updating it doesn't do anything good for the app. *Update: i'm about to strangle my phone if the app doesn't let me in

This app is trash. As a student of the KPRDSB, my teachers urge us to use this application. Unfortunately, this application does not work as intended. Whenever I enter the app, it locks into landscape view, and doesn't rotate back. Also, whenever I try to share a file with one of my teachers, the app freezes, and then crashes. More recently, the app freezes at the entrance screen, where I have to input my School Board Code. I am now unable to communicate with my teachers during quarantine.

Never mind the app is decent it's just the teachers that don't know how to use it. App interface needs to be cleaned up. Make it simple. Way too much going on. Looks unprofessional. Change the logo into something simple. Make the loading screen better, it just looks trash no one wants a robot staring at their souls. Home screen in app should show classes, groups and calendar removing the tab under the app. Messages, account settings and notifications should be put at the top with little icons.

App would no longer login in the app, and would open a webpage login, wanted to fix, cleared cache, cannot login at all anymore. I wonder if the devs are paid. Great idea, executed poorly. Last update was in 2019.

This app has no notifications, which means I never know when I have received messages and I don't think to check. I get kicked out every now and again claiming I have "invalid access", both on the computer and the app. Not to mention it is incredibly slow. It's sad that this app has been out for so long and only seems to get worse. If it were my choice, I'd use google classroom.

Terrible app. Cumbersome user interface. No notification system. It would be helpful to know when a teacher posts. Always have to login. At least stay logged in for a semester. Edit: I've already enabled those notifications. It never pushes an update, and the daily email digest just says to go visit edsby.

This app is functional, but in no way is it polished. As a student, I've never had any significant issues with it, but it can be a hassle when trying to share documents or photos. I switched the language to French to try to learn more of the language, but most of the content on the page remained in English. All in all, does what it's intended to do, but not much more. (It reminds me of a lazy student who only does the bare minimum...)

I'm sure the app has some positive features, but the lack of proper push notifications in Android is a little ridiculous. Sure, you can turn on email or text notifications to actually be notified, but you are injecting a number of additional steps which shouldn't be needed in a mobile app.
