All features worked great initially (one week) but now it won't connect (doesn't even come up in the Select Fireplace). I cannot find the physical remote which is frustrating. The fire isn't on but the lights are which means I'll have to pull the panel to disconnect the power for now. How can a company making a fortune on fireplaces not fix their app. I can see that it hasn't worked well for a while.
I would give this app a zero if possible. It is unsafe and ineffective at doing anything. The app can't find our fireplace on a regular basis, it freezes, won't open, won't connect. Literally the worst app on my phone. The fact that this is the alternative to a 700 dollar remote is discusting.
Only ever worked once on an initial install. Cannot find fireplace again, no controls as it doesn't get past the "select fireplace" screen. Hoping for an update or troubleshooting I can try to get it working again.
I've been using this app for a few years now and it was definitely 5 starts. After updating to Android 10, it doesn't find my fireplace. This app definitely needs an update. Update: Nov 13 ...... I received a quick response via email from customer service, they are aware of the issue and state they're working on a solution Update: Feb 3 .... working as it should, thank you! (not sure when the update was exactly)
The app literally does, nothing? Detected and connected to our new gas insert via Bluetooth, but none of the functions worked at all. Glad the physical remote control works well, but was hoping to have the phone app as a handy alternative / backup.
It appears that the app has not been updated since 2017. App does not work on modern android devices. Modern devices being anything made since 2017. On my Pixel 5 phone running android 11 this app can not even detect the Vector fireplace but I dug up an old Moto x4 running android 8 and it works.
[Update Sept 2020] Here we go again. Fireplace app connects, but none of the controls work. Please update! [Update Jan 2020] Thanks Napolean! As of the latest update (mid-Jan 2020) the app works again with the latest version of Android. I'm still only going to give it 4 stars though, until they provide an API so we can integrate it with other smart home systems, e.g. Google Assistant, openHab, etc. Thank you for (finally)updating the app to support the latest version of Android though!
Does not work. Fireplace installed yesterday October 6, 2020. The installer could use the app on an old tablet. But none of the phones in my house all Samsung note 10 or note 10+ work with it. Same issues documented by everyone else. Really not happy to have spent all this money for lousy support. Obviously the company knows there is an issue but has chosen to ignore it.
App works fine. They missed Android 10 but that will get fixed soon enough. I Iike that it prompts to connect each time. With multiple devices that's more manageable.
Update this app for God's sake. Take some pride in this. Some functions in my fireplace are only available through this dumb app such as my LED lights. App connect to my fireplace but it is hit-and-miss, completely random what the controller will actually control. Sometimes it controls the LED lights. Other times it will not. Never controls flame height anymore. This app is practically broken
Doesn't work with the latest Android. Update: Napoleon customer support days they're working on a patch but no eta and it could take a while. Suggested solution would be to roll back to Android 9, which is obviously a no-no
Had problems with efire app never connecting to system. Napoleon has sent me a new Bluetooth module. I have installed it and so far so good.
Absolute garbage. Worked once or twice an no matter the number or reinstall or refreshing connections, it doesn't control a thing.
I downloaded this app 3 or 4 times and it doesn't work. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy s8 Having a problem when the Bluetooth connects and it asked for a password I use 0000 but dosent go in the app how do I reset the old password very frustrating company (napoleon)
App is broken once again. This happened in January and couldn't use my fireplace for a month. Now I can't use it again at the beginning of a new season. Nothing works, not a fresh install...nothing. fix this ASAP.
Pretty good, could use an update so it can access the fireplace directly, instead of having to select it each time. Love the timer Off function
Just finished installing our new fireplace (Altitude X 36) and the app does not see it at all. This is supposedly a high end fireplace. There's really no excuse for such poor app support.
I downloaded this app 3 or 4 times and it doesn't work. It just spins and spins. My phone is a brand new Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
Can't control fireplace anymore after update. Version 5.0 still works if you have access to that and an Android version below 10. 10/8/2020 update: today's update (v5. 3) fixed my issue.
App not connecting to the fireplace. Email to the developer bounced. Seems like it may not be supported any longer.
My fireplace is amazing however this app is not. I can connect to the fireplace however nothing works. I press to turn nothing, press for lights nothing ect. Very disappointed at the moment.
Stalls at "Select fireplace" screen. Nothing happens as the arrow circles go around and around for 5+ minutes. Lousy.
I got my fireplace installed the app didn't work. A few weeks later it worked. Today 11/20 not working again. I hope this can be fixed.
Does not recognize brand new fireplace installed Jan 2020, even with app update to latest version. App refresh icon spins and doesn't find fireplace to connect to. Needs app update.
Was working fine in November, went to USA came back end of March. IPad air Ipad2 2Samsung TabA , motog6 and Asus Zenphones all stopped working. useless app please fix this
Can't even open it up it asks for a password, I never added a password and can't find a password anywhere.
Started working again for about a month and now its down again. Android phone won't connect. Are you guys working on a fix? Still waiting for a fix
the app has stopped turning on the flame. much of the time the app doesnt work at all. As of 2-4-2020 the app works intermittently. Most of the time not working at all, even after reinstallation. This is an expensive fireplace system that cannot be controlled with the app much of the time. Our remote works the flame but the color is intermittent on this also. Since the fireplace cannot be turned on manually, Napoleon should work diligently to fix the problem.
