App has poor functionality. It vibrates on every touch. It does not seem to update the information, information is inaccurate and I don't think it communicates well with the device because sometimes when the thing is off it's crazy hot and other times when it's on its cold
Since last update, no bueno. It it constantly crashing/closing since last update. Doesn't matter what I click it may or may not open but will close right after and a pop up would state that the app isn't responding.
The 8 Sleep system has been a game changer for good sleep. Gone are the days of wrestling with blankets throughout the night to deal with getting too hot. I can notlw keep a weighted blanket on year round. Highly recommend!
life changing. not an exaggeration. seriously I sleep so much better with the temp super low. data analytics are insane too. worth every penny.
It's great when it works. But there are 2 issues: 1. I cannot turn off my bedtime schedule. It just flicks off then flicks on a second later. 2. Using accessibility like BitWarden to login is difficult as it keeps restarting the app on the loading screen after transitioning.
Unbelievable. They seem to have screwed things up again, making the pod almost completely useless. Now even though I have my profile set to warm the bed since it's super cold here lately, which it used to do fine before bed, now every time I get into bed it's either on a -1/-2 (COLD), or 0...not warm. So then I have to manually change that and then wait an extra half hour for the bed to warm up. How's this helping me get better sleep when I have to stay up longer to manually fix this every day?
cons: Doesn't make covers for standard/single beds Doesn't make it clear that you need distilled water w/hydrogen peroxide Pros Tested it on a single standard size bed I can confirm it works perfectly
App has been getting better, but is it possible to just set 1 static temperature versus the 4 point temperature schedule?
By far some of the shittiest customer service. Additionally one of the worst built apps out there. Complete idiots whoever designed the app and left off the ability to manually turn on or off the system without tricking the system. 🤦♂️🤦♂️ I would definitely think about a different bed as I'm sitting here on a Sunday night sweating in the bed you're not supposed to be able to sweat in. 🤬🤬
Poor UI scaling. I was going to limit that statement to "on extra wide or narrow aspect ratios", but even 16:9 has issues. Galaxy Fold 2. UI bleeds off the edge on the narrow outer screen. On the inner screen the UI is massive, making the scrollable area very small (esp. on sleep report, header is large), and various elements get cut off. I can force 16:9, which is okay, but even still the temperature dial is cut off a bit and UI elements are large. Not so bad that it's unusable, just annoying.
love the mattress, but the app can be kind of slow.
App crashes a few seconds after opening it after the May 11 update
Edit: I have been in contact with the team, they called me which is awesome customer service. Problems are now fixed and bed is perfect! Have owned the bed for almost a year now and the app has gotten progressively worse. The temperature alarm has become completely useless. Sometimes it doesn't even work. This was one of my favorite features as it really helped get me up in the morning. Please please focus on reliability and stability before adding all these new features you keep rolling out.
I like the graphs. The information helps me but I do my own analysis. Suggestions are basic nonsense, unfortunately. It needs the ability to rate your own sleep per day. I've had almost 0 sleep and a score of 80+. the REM, tosses and turns, along with the the amount of light sleep should account for a poor night. The alarm goes off multiple times despite being awake and out of bed. I would give 5 stars if the alarm and rating algorithm is improved.
I've had mostly a good experience. I had zero issues pairing and setting it up for the first time and running it through both priming sequences. Both my partner and I were able to join the same bed account and configure things the way we like it. I can turn on and off the cooling without issue. The only issue I've had is dismissing the vibration alarm often doesn't work and have to do it repeatedly to get it to acknowledge it which is kind of annoying. I've docked a star for this.
The app overall is nice and informative, but the latest update has ruined the bed schedule. i set my bed to be ready at 10pm and it isnt even on then. Meanwhile it is warming throughout the middle of the day, wasting electricity. the old schedule worked better. I like the idea of the new schedule where it adjusts the heat throughout the night, but its useless if the system doesn't function properly. Now I have the schedule off and have to turn it on manually every night, and the timer is limited
Not sure the 5/1/19 update was for the better. Why does the app now start on the bed warming screen every time I launch? I live in Florida. I warm my bed about twice a year. And what happened to the graph for heart rate, resp, and others? The new layout would be nice if I clicked to get a detailed view, but the old version was much better for quickly seeing my stats. Even more so when I want to screenshot and send to someone to share last night's data. And that's not to even mention that the details view no longer shows the night's events (toss/turns, heart rate, resp, etc.) Making the app look 'cooler' is important, but not at the expense of usability and features. Not impressed.....
For such a high tech, expensive and niche device -- this application is lacking way too many simple, basic functionalities. How is it that google home integration hasn't been done already? Alexa was done years ago! Also, my warming functionality didn't end with the timer once and I woke up in the middle of the night over heating. I contacted costumer support and all I got was yes, it was a bug. We fixed it -- try again. This happened for 3 nights in a row! Also, why is the default timer 20 hours? Is anyone in bed for 20 hours? Like I mentioned -- is lacking so many basic features.
The latest software update is horrible. Every time they update they completely change the software. This time they removed half of the functionality. You used to be able to turn the bed warmer (the best feature) on for a designated period of time, now that is removed and you have to set a program for the bed warmer. which will run every day if you dont remember to turn it off. because I only use it on the rare occasion, this had made the feature completely useless to me.
The app gets more and more frustrating with every update. The UI is cluttered and un-intuitive to navigate and buggy when communicating with the Pod. I open the app mainly to turn the pod on and off. Having to go to a sub menu to do this is a pain point. Would love the app to revert back to previous versions where the temp dial is the first thing you see when you open the app.
I was having a hard time with the app keeping my temperature set it seems manual has been taken away. Now with the update I just did the app doesn't recognize anything. So I essentially have a not very comfortable bed that is really warm. Not sure why you can't figure issues out before. And maybe, just maybe, fix other issues before introducing new features.
The app is pretty bad. The timer for the heater is pretty glitchy, if you want to set it to anything other than 15 minutes you have click the time then "set timer" within about a half a second otherwise it won't take. Also, in the newest update, they removed the function for repeating alarms for some reason. I was almost late to work because my alarm didnt go off in the morning. Support said the function was removed even though the option is still present in the app.
This app has me on the brink of returning the entire mattress and smart grid. Since the update we have only had two consecutive nights of the temperature being correct. We specifically changed our internet router to a compatible mesh network solely for the purpose of making this bed work. Since the app and wifi are the only means of controlling the hub/temperature, something that was a terrible error on the design team, more often than not you end up with an expensive 'dumb' bed. Fix the app!
After researching a ton of mattresses, we decided to go with Eight based on reviews and we're so happy with our choice. We love eight sleep! Great app and extremely cozy bed. It took about a month for the bed to "break-in" but since then, it's been amazing. Additionally, while we had issues with our sleep tracker heat on one side, they were extremely responsive and helpful. We had a replacement within days! I would actually recommended this company, this bed and this sleep tracker.
The bed is great, the recent changes to the app are horrible. This morning, I have gotten 7 notifications to check my sleep report, 7! I checked it already! After not getting them for weeks, my phone is flooded with them. The alarm only works when it wants to. You need to revert this app to what it was before. Updated: i just got my 8th notification. After the first year of the free app, is it supposed to be $5/month? I will NOT pay for this garbage.
Wanted to leave my feedback of my absolute disdain with the update that has a vibrate inside a sleep app with every single touch. Every dial I turn up or down every tab I switch to the app vibrates. Sometimes I am changing the temperature right before bed or in the middle of the night and having a loud vibrate every time I touch the screen is extremely annoying and a very very poor ux design. basically, get better developers/UX designers
