new version is good, minor glitches but fairly good although compared to CP it's no where near as good or reliable.. 1.) Huge issue for VWs at some stations the cable is way too short to reach my cars port. 2.) When Charger status in app says unavailable WTH does that mean?! Is it broken/under repair or does it mean its inuse? 3) only one plug can be used per station app should say that. Good side customer service is easy to contact (phone number is right on the station) and they're helpful.
I tried using the phone's NFC to pay for charging but it never works. Nevertheless, I am okay with noting the charger number and selecting the right tower from the app to get it to start. I like that this app does not let you start a charging session by accident unless you are near the charging station.
So buggy. Often locks up. Especially when activating with NFC. Can youplease set it up so a credit card can be registered and used and and get PASS+ pricing? Having to use a phone can be an issue when phones have spotty connectivity or are overheating, often both. Not everyone has A/C in their vehicle
The app didn't indicate that you cannot charge and set it up at the same time for the HomeStation. That would have been great to know. In addition, the app doesn't have a way to keep unauthorized people from using the HomeStation. It would be nice to have that feature for security.
Recent update has rendered the app absolutely useless. Times out repeatedly, can't find charging locations on the map, doesn't connect. As if the EA charging stations weren't a complete joke, now I can't even connect to get a pathetically slow charge. Brick of an app. Great job, devs!
Overall works decently. I have trouble getting the NFC to work with my phone. I plug into the charger, press members tab on charger screen, it says to tap phone to reader so I do so with my phone unlocked and my phone vibrates for a second but nothing happens! I either have to manually select the charger in app to start charging or go to the Payment tab (in app) first then tap my phone to the reader. I shouldn't have to open the app to get it work. Phone is LG Velvet (Android 11 G900TM20e)
Was working well until an update this past week(April 22nd) , I assume. I used it on April 15th. Worked well. I got notification and an email. I used it April 22nd. When I opened the app, I had to login, so i assume it updated. I did not get any notification in the app that the car was charging. Nor did I get an email with the charging summary. None of my setting(notifications or communications changed).
App works ok. Can we make it so that hitting the back button doesn't close the app without a warning. A dialogue box that's says "are you sure you want to exit" would be nice. It's very easy to exit the app by accident. And it takes forever to continue what I was doing before. Very simple UI change would be welcom
App is ok, but charging stations are always down and aupport can't do anything. Hardware problem can't be fixed on the phone, which is understandable, but station stays down for months and technician never comes to fix them, which is a separate issue.
One of the worst apps I have ever used in my life. Full of glitches; had to use another an alternate device to create account and also has not worked properly when trying to charge my vehicle. Needs to be completely overhauled.
App keeps.closing. anytime you do anything at all and you bump something the whole app closes and you have to start all over and sign back in and then you're playing with it and it's fine and then if you go backwards or you do something tiny the whole app shuts down and logs out again.
Unable to get the app to find location. Was not able to get connected to charge my car. First time in a year. I'm sure EA will correct this soon. Android OS.
Stations are well lit, clean, & easy to use👍 A few times I've needed to call for support they answer quickly, are courteous & professional, and mainly~ they solve the issue and get me charging. They stay on the line until I confirm that my Ioniq5 is charging. Hyundai included 30 mins/day of free charging with my Ioniq5, which means I try to top off each day even if I have a 65% load, yet the customer service reps are patient and friendly. I'll stay an Electrify America customer.
The app is constantly crashing saying unexpected error. Already reinstalled a few times. First error it gives is Authentication error, then the app just crashes.
Automatic routing based on destination and inputting an address to see chargers nearby are the only things I can think that this app is missing.
Why does this app always open to a charger in Downtown LA, Chinatown? I charge in Burbank at Magnolia Park everyday. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it but it still does the same thing.
A feature is needed which allows one to shorten charging times, to better utilize complimentary charging, where free charging time is limited to 30 minutes.
update: the app is on a constant decline. every update makes things worse. Just a heads up, if you report an app issue the customer service agent will reccomend their competitors or send you to plug share so it might be easier to just go to the other apps or stations from their competitors. The next time I travel I will be using a gas combustion vehicle so I won't be inconvenienced by this company again. They have poor customer service, poor charging stations and a poor app.
Im seriously not into tech- at all. Im not even very smart....this isnt hard people. I bought an EV 1000 miles from home, with zero EV experience and drove it back, 100% on this network with literally zero problems. It worked every single time. The problem is people. I had to help a man with a Ph.D in SC. It was like he couldnt read. First he was trying to use charge point🤦♂️. Then he couldn't figure out how to download the EA app- he was a professor......
Not usable. Swipe to charge and it gets stuck. Not a good situation when you find a station and you NEED to charge. Plus, the credit card machine was broken. Not a well maintained network IMO.
Update March 2022: they've added biometric login so I can log into my account without my password. Upping my review to 4 stars. -------- (Original review) App keeps losing the authentication token requiring me to log in again. This is a pain when I'm out and about needing to charge. Update 12/28: Happened again last night. 😢
Look like Electrify america conidere Canada not in America, then useless app for me. For those coming from Canada, go dowload another app, electrify Canada.... Useless = 1 star
It's extremely annoying to me how this app will just randomly log you out. And it happens very often. More than half of the time I open it, it makes me log in again
Stop taking my review down! This app does not work! Can't verify account, terminals in the area I'm in are always down, busted screens on terminals, and super expesive to use. How come others are far cheaper? VW do better!
We desperately need Electrify America app to be natively ported into Android Automotive OS ASAP so we don't need ourphones, unless you want us to switch to Charge Point who does have an app. Not charging my review til then.
I keep having to log into the app like it never remembers my login and never retains the fingerprint login either. I also keep getting some type of error message after using the app and it wants me to reset the app thus it loses login information again. The error message states, "Electrify America app failed to start several times. Restore it by clearing its history?" Then you have an open to Cancel or Clear now.
Recent update has it crashing constantly. When it doesn't crash it asks for your login after every press of the"back" button. Worked well for a few months in 2021 but it's a hot mess now. Developer not responding to critical Play Store reviews.
Bricked my HomeStation. EA eventually replaced under warranty after 8wks. New HomeStation, update app and it works. Scheduled charging is really buggy, tried to load my local utility and it got stock. Repeated tries and it eventually loads something but with the wrong time windows.
App works ok... Once I've signed up and set up biometric login, when the app starts, it should prompt me for biometric login right away. Instead I get a fancy marketing animation and a choice to "sign up" or log in... Just skip it
Thanks for continuing to improve the app & service! Fewer hiccups each month! Would love to see when peak usage times have been by day in the past month for a charging station so that I can choose less popular times. The back button should not completely exit the app from the charging station status screen. It should instead return to the map view.
