Elements 4D by DAQRI
Paired with either paper or wood blocks that are inscribed with the symbols of 36 elements from the periodic table, this app will instantly transform a simple, inanimate object into dynamic, dimensional, 4D representations of each element.
Designed by DAQRI, the Elements 4D app enables you to:
• Interact with 36 amazing, naturally-occurring elements and learn their names, what they look like, and their atomic weights
• Learn unique, fun facts about each element
• Combine two elements together and see how they react, including the catalyst, resulting compound and chemical equation

Elements 4D was successfully funded on Kickstarter in July 2013. The DAQRI-designed interactive wooden blocks are now available for purchase at http://elements4d.daqri.com/.
You can also use the app with papercraft blocks that you can print out for free and make at home. Just download the following images and follow the folding instructions to create your own papercraft blocks at http://elements4d.daqri.com/documents/elements-blocks-all.pdf.
To get started, aim the app viewfinder at either a paper or wood Elements 4D interactive block and watch it come to life. Next, introduce a second block into view, put them together, and see how they react!

Just shows a black screen after pressing the 4d button.
Its not working any more.. Why?
I typically love this app. However there are a LOT of limitations. For example, many tablets are "incompatible" with this app (usually Android based). Android phones are really hit or miss with incompatibility too. Additionally, Android phones that are seemingly compatible may pop up with the constant message "Looks like you aren't connected to the Internet. Please check your connection and try again." even if the phone is fully connected by WiFi or by data. It seems very much like consistent capability and compatibility is designed more around iOS platform since I've never had a problem accessing this app on an iOS device. 2 stars because I love it and WANT it to be cross platform, but in its current format it's not truly usable in a BYOD classroom setting.
My Bio teacher showed us this in class and I was secretly very interested in this because I like anything AR. Unfortunately this app doesn't work on LG G3. If your WiFi or cellular data is on, when you open it the screen stays black for a few seconds, then the app closes. If neither of them are on, it will go to the main menu but when your camera turns on after clicking the 4D button, it does nothing. I'm extremely sad this doesn't work and I hope you fix it...
Apparently it's been 3-1\2 years since it was last updated. I could get this app to work on a phone running Android "KitKat" (4.1.1), but now it does not work, at all, on my phone with Android 6.0.1 "Marshmallow". All I can get is a black screen for a few seconds upon launching Elements 4D by DAQRI, and then it kicks me back out to my home screen. And, I thought it was bad that it only supported 36 elements!
Not working with my Xiaomi mi max. :( Guys pls fix this ) this is such an amazing app but not able to use it.
The app is great idea but is not working on my phone Galaxy J7 pro 2017 with android 7. Wanted to demonstrate possibilities to teachers but it is just not working on android.
Doesn't work for me. Makes the screen go dark and never activates the camera. Menus respond but that is it.
The concept is good but whats the use when camera is not being able to capture
Does not work on my Nexus 5x. App boots up, but then does not seem to be able to access the camera.
I was so excited to try this and see how i could use it in the classroom for my kids, but I can;'t get it to work with my smartphone. None of the android devices I've used are compatible it seems. Please, please work on this. I really want to use this program for educational purposes.
The app is gets stuck on Start 4D. We have tried several smart phones on the internet and it's still stuck
Stopped working on my s7 after updating android versions. Hope this is fixed soon. This is a great app only if it works!
App hangs, does not recognise any element, and does not show any bugs if there are any. It works well on iPad but on android phone.
Supported this On Kickstarter and was looking forward to showing this to the kids. Takes forever the load them freezes or causes the screen to go haywire. Very disappointed. Xperia S on Jellybean.
The app won't even open. Was really looking forward to using this for my science students. The developers need to get this to work ASAP.
I use this app in my 5th grade classroom. It is a great introduction into the world of element and compounds. I hope the app grows to include more elements and possibly more reactions when combining them together.
My professor wanted us to use this app for a homework assignment but it will not work on android. Not on my LG v20.
Start of the app doesn't work flickers between black and white screen with no functionality at all have to shut it down it's a shame because I've tried it before and it used to work tried it on Samsung S7
Installed the app and all it does is rotates to landscape and crashes. Waste of time.
Downloaded it and screen is too dark to see whats written in the box (i adjusted my brightness etc) when i figured out how to get to the camera the screen was black and the camera didn't turn on
Why dont it work in Kata M2. Its loading then after minutes its a total black.
I installed this long time ago and it was amazing. But now it simply doesn't work..
Used to be cool. I used it to great fanfare in chemistry. Now it won't work on on my Note 5 or on my friend's Motorola.
Got the app on my 3 year-old Sony Xperia, and it worked great. Got a new Alcatel One Touch Idol 3, and the app runs, it opens the camera, it just won't recognise the blocks. Please fix!!
I wish they updated the so it would work with all android versions so I can use my cubes again. This was my most favorite app but it no longer works on my s7 because of the update on the 15th. This app should be updated.
After much excitement over using this in class it still does not work. A fix was promised in January, still no luck.
