( 29/ April/ 2022) I am updating the rating as promised. The app updates has improved. But the developers still have room for improvement. And I trust they will do it. If they could streamline a way to analysis data and look up changes related to my personal tags it would be great(better interface)
Still does the job. Still like the older, simpler version, but I do appreciate some of the new features (eg. HRV training). New problem though - the app freezes after trying to reconnect Google fit. 🤷
Until 4 weeks ago it was working great, now the app fails to connect to my polar H10 and wahoo tickrX. Update - app update and phone reboot has resolved the issue!! Works perfectly now and accurately predicted covid exposure via a drop in my HRV
I think this app would be much much better if you developed a CorSense that plugged directly into the phone instead of relying on Bluetooth, I recently changed my Heart Math device to a plug into the phone and I like it much better than the Bluetooth, 💯 reliable. Continued hit and miss connecting to my Polar 10 and CorSene. That is why I gave it a 3 rating.
Simple to use and a good guide to support my training. I use it to know when to push on and do that hard session and when to kick back and gave an easy day. It is remarkably accurate
Great app. Poor UI. Like right now, when I try to press customize my breathing, it won't click most of the time because the "customize" button is too small. When I do get in and try to change the breathing in from 3 to 3.5, it takes a while to use the slider to get it exactly to 3.5 seconds since its imperfect. Would be a lot easier if I can type it in instead of spending 30 seconds to get slider to perfect decimal. Please fix these as it's frustrating to use the app over such small issues.
Disappointed. I've used this app for years. I used to love it. The recent revision makes it harder to take readings - more screens to page through to get to the work, won't connect with my Polar H10, long delays for any function. It just isn't reliable, simple, or easy. I don't think they do any user testing to inform their design and flow engineering.
I agree with a lot of the recent comments. Really don't like the last update. A total redesign for what? It's made what was a good, smooth process into something much clunkier, drawn out and tedious. I honestly saw nothing wrong with the previous version. It was quick, efficient and smooth to use. (I'd give that version 4, maybe 5 stars). I'm giving this one 2 stars but that is being generous. Bring back the previous version,or give us the option of which UI we use.
I still don't like the look and design of the app. The interface is cumbersome not very intuitive. Otherwise the function works as intended, sensors can be added and removed with ease and the measurements are excelent aswell as the information provided is with one exception: the morning readyness number a number pretty central to the app. It's still not clear to me how this number is calculated the way it would be needed to be described to be used in peer reviewed research.
Found that I can really rely on what it tells me if today will be a good day for me to get in a good workout or maybe better of taking it easy with more mild activities. But, sometimes have problems with the Bluetooth connection. In the most recent case, the troubleshooting guide was not helpful at all. The app said waiting for a signal from a device number I could not identify. I tried something help did not mention and got it to work.
The old app was a lot better and would tell you if there were artifacts. This one really isn't very usable. I want the old app back!!!! It will not even let me do morning hrv readings. This is intolerable. Update: there are still some glitches but largely these have been fixed. It still needs some work but it is more usable than it was when first launched.
After having huge trouble with the connectivity at the beginning, I understand that was a software issue, i was very upset since my expectations were quite high for the corsense device and EliteHRV app. Now with that fixed I feel like they are quite reliable, although some mornings I took 2-3 readings back to back and got completely different results, but most of the time they were in the same range.
I've got to say this app looked great. But I just keep having issues connecting, and sometimes the app just stops functioning. It won't load the front page of podcasts and info, hit buttons and nothing happens. It really winds me up when I spend the morning trying to get a reading and then have to go into the day with nothing...
good app, but the saving is really annoying. if you want to save readings over a hour, it takes long, which I understand because of the processing needed but at least put a progressbar to keep your sanity. also if you let it process over a longer time, you need to use you your phone for other things, but even with battery optimization deactivated, the app restarts after a while and all your measurements are lost. an option to cache your readings and processing it later would be very useful.
The latest version of this app seemed to have fixed my bluetooth connection issues. I definitely love this app and it's by far the best HRV app I've used (aside the connection issue). I also have the CorSense sensor which I really love and would recommend as it allows for quick and easy readings. In addition, Elite HRV's customers support is very responsive and is getting better. Overall I'm satisfied with this product.
This latest release has made it practically impossible to enter tags. Instead of picking your selection it has sliders that only have discrete points for a selection so you have to tap the slider at just the right place to enter the selection. Plus the slider hides the number and names of what is available to select so you don't know if there is another more appropriate selection. All they had to do was put labels at the correct places along the slider. And then since there is hardly any integration with apps to get exercise, sleep & weight I have to leave the app and go check those other apps, but when I come back to enter the data everything I entered prior is gone. It used to let me go back & forth. And it changes whatever I entered for weight. The time spent ruining the tags function would have been better spent integrating with more other apps so manually entering tags wouldn't be required.
The latest update has created issues for me. I have been using it without issue for the last 6 months, paired to a Cardiosport HRM strap. Since the update last Thursday, I have struggled to get my Morning Readiness reading, eventually getting it 13 hours later through persistence and not wanting to give up my streak! I have tried everything in the guides, airplane mode, unpairing, uninstalling, clearing all other Bluetooth devices, but nothing is making it reliable, like it used to be. Please help.
I don't understand why you'd take a perfectly well designed and functioning app and redesign it so it has so many issues. Apart from the many issues highlighted by others, the latest issue I've noticed since the latest app release, is the App not saving my Morning reading. It doesn't inform you of this and unless you hit the home button after "saving" the reading you wouldn't notice that its still asking you for a morning reading. This has now happened twice & messed up my 200+ day streak.
It isn't often I leave reviews for apps, but the redesign of the EliteHRV interface is so awful, so utterly woeful that it is worthy of a special case. Following the unnecessary redesign, an app I once considered to be useful is now junk, and I will start looking for a replacement immediately. If you are thinking of downloading this app - DON'T bother!
5.5.4: 1) Still no option to run from SD card (ie external storage)? Totally out of internal storage here: it is just a simple setting! 2 years and waiting... really? 2) app does not allow me to download my own data quoting a "temporary error" lasting several weeks now. Missed out on chance to keep record of important readings end Jan 21. 3) I don't care for the new rotating dials for time selection. Pls fix functionality (e.g. item 1) instead of focusing on irrelevant items such as "app looks"
