Every time I start the app it "injects lines of code" and "downloads 50cc of bytes" for such a long time that I am considering never using the app again. Why does this app do this ridiculously long startup time when no other apps do this (sometimes it never loads at all despite waiting more than 60 seconds)? I have a Pixel 6, it's not a slow phone. Not better with uninstalling, clearing cache, etc. The app just needs work.
Great content and the app has come a long way. There are some playback issues in android auto from time to time, but aside from that the app is far less buggy than it used to be. My one hope is that they get Corpendium into the app (or its own app) soon!
Great when it works. App often doesn't load and is unusable. Once in a blue moon it'll work fine. I had no problems with the old app. Clearing storage and uninstall/reinstall don't help
Edit: greatly improved! Thank you! Content and app now 5 stars! Old review: This app is so bad I felt compelled to leave a review. It's the laziest app creation I've ever seen. There is no search function. No filter function. They literally just list all of the content and you just have to scroll every time you reach the content you want. The only option it has is settings and even that doesn't have much settings options. Other than that, the actual podcast is amazing.
The content is incredible and we'll worth the money. However the app itself has lots of bugs such (it crashes a lot and there are problems downloading content). The bugs do get fixed but not often. Thankfully you can access the content through other podcast platforms. Ultimately the content is so good that it's worth putting up with the app bugs and all.
Great podcasts and videos! But I have to rate the Android app 3 stars because it's painful to use. In my car, the controls default to where if I press fast forward it goes a full episode forward instead of 30 seconds, and back starts the whole thing again instead of back 10 seconds. As someone who frequently gets distracted and needs to go back and forth, that makes it really frustrating to use. It also randomly stops working sometimes but that's a much less significant issue.
So far so good since the recent overhaul. Before the app was plagued by issues with audio stopping in the middle for no reason, audio not playing despite the progress bar moving, audio not playing even though it was downloaded. Additionally the old version before the overhaul had kind of a clunky interface. The recent overhaul has fixed all these issues and I've had no problems with the audio randomly stopping. Interface is a bit better as well. So glad that they finally did something to fix the app so that I can get back to listening on my drive in.
great content! However, the android app frequently crashes. This seems happen increasingly often over the past several months. At times I need to uninstall and reinstall every 10-30 minutes due to the crashes. Hopefully they will troubleshoot this soon. Again, the content is amazing, which is why this is so frustrating.
I enjoyed using the prior version of this app for trips to and from work. After all the recent updates, this has become my go-to resource for studying and review. Additionally, the ease of use has skyrocketed and the functionality is top-notch. I really appreciate the time and energy the development team put into making this such a powerful resource. The videos play clearly. The search function is useful and spectacularly beneficial when trying to find reference points for learner education.
The app hasn't worked for the past week or so. Previously I dealt with crashes and mysterious loss of downloaded content (right when the plane took off it seemed) but now the app is completely non functional. Relegated to the site. I know you guys are working on the Android app so I'll be patient but have to voice my concern.
Improved overall. This version issues, most of these are quality of life. 1) Using with GPS system, it does not auto-pause the EMRap audio. Other apps do. 2) Videos do not keep screen on, other apps do this. 3) Loud dings after/near each chapter bookend and pauses of content. 4) Audio levels are very low compared to other programs, especially with video. For reference, I am using Samsung S9 and it is up to date.
Em rap is excellent, however this app leaves much to be desired. Frequently stops playing episodes randomly, can't figure out a way to create a playlist so I don't have to fart around with my phone on a long drive. The app for my iPad is also atrocious, doesn't fill the screen almost like it's stuck on the mobile settings, very hard to use while I'm driving
The latest update is a great improvement; however, the app will still stop playing an episode on its own, requiring me to exit the episode before it will play again. One update feature I don't appreciate is the lack of current time vs total runtime information on the playback display. I would also appreciate more customizable playback settings as are often present in other podcast apps (i.e. being able to individually select the duration for forward and backwards skipping).
Still crashing on Android! It worked for me for the last 9+ months, and then I don't know what changed about 3-4 weeks ago, but it wouldn't open at all 2 weeks ago and now it opens but only for 5 seconds before closing! So frustrating to subscribe and not be able to prep for residency on the go! Guess I'll have to EMCrit for a while...... Please fix it!!
Current version of the app as of 9/11/2021 is borderline unusable. Multiple crashes, won't load the full list of audio podcasts, and it freezes up when I attempt to scroll. Bafflingly, I can't seem to just search for the monthly EM:RAP anymore, instead I'm forced to search individual segments. Go back to the old one, please.
Much improved functionality from the older version, and as always the absolute best in emergency medicine education.
App has lots of bugs. These bugs were finally fixed and then a completely new update came out last month and all the bugs returned. Every time I open the app it crashes. The status wheel isn't accurate as it only has Never Watched, Partially Watched (as a half circle), and Fully Watched. So it's hard to know if I barely started or almost finished it. The duration is inaccurate too (i.e. covid 3/25 update says 18 mins long when it's really 1h 18m).
The app stop working and it doesn't open anymore further into content!
Great content. Easy to digest.
Great content, bad application. Very unstable and lacks basic organization functions for its content. Needs some serious usability improvements Update 2/10/20 - recent updates seems to have fixed my previous complaints- content is now we'll organized in a drop down menu, no stability issues and much more aestecially pleasing and ergonomic interface - huge improvement!
I've been a premium member of EMRAP and have learned a lot from it, but I'm sorry to say, that the new update keeps on crashing after launch. Kindly take action on this bug. Update : Thanks a lot, the fix that you suggested did work, and I'm having a good time listening to it again 👍
Worst app ever. No search option?? Very buggy. Lots of crashes. Crazy expensive. Like you took all this wonderful content, tossed it in a plastic garbage bag we have to dig through. I want to use it, but so much time spent looking for what I want. Not worth it.
App is great when it works, but that's the minority of the time. Luckily I'm a resident, so I myself am not paying for the subscription but if I were paying myself with the amount they charge I would expect a lot more of the functionality. The issue is mainly a complete lack of any content loading for stretches of days at a time and videos constantly crashing. If I were reviewing merely the content and the app when it works, it would be a solid 5 stars. Unfortunately that's not the case.
